Chapter 263 Sneak Attack (2/2)

"I'm Jed from Cannot. Nice to meet you, Mr. Greg. I've been following the hunting team in this area for several days and have some experience. If you don't mind, can we team up? Mr. Greg is quite skilled, and I think we can definitely achieve results if we work together."

"Really? That's great. I just need an experienced person to lead the way. It's just right for me to go with you guys." Greg said thankfully as he looked at Thomas and Jed in front of him. He was a newcomer who had just joined the hunt and was worried about not being able to find a team. After listening to Greg's response, Jed also said with a smile.

"Then I wish us a pleasant cooperation."

Afterwards, Greg, Jed and Thomas formed a team together, separated from the others, and went on adventures in other parts of the woods together.

Since Jed had more experience in exploring the dream world and could identify directions in the woods, he naturally became the leader.

Under Jed's leadership, Greg and Thomas moved away from the others and headed deeper into the woods. Along the way, they encountered some small prey sporadically.

After several rounds of spiritual absorption, Gregor now felt that his gains on this trip were very rich. In just one day and night, he was able to catch up with the spiritual gains of the previous week, which made him very happy.

'After the night has passed, once the spiritual energy I have obtained from hunting has been digested and accumulated, I will be one step closer to accumulating a full spiritual energy.'

Gregor thought so, and then he and Thomas followed Jed and continued forward. As the woods around them became deeper and deeper, they felt that the surroundings became quieter and quieter.

"Hmm... It seems like I haven't encountered any prey in a while... Has all the prey around here been hunted?"

Walking among the unusually quiet giant trees, Thomas glanced around the quiet woodland and then spoke, and Greg also continued with some confusion.

"Yeah, I haven't seen prey in a while. It's so quiet around here. Mr. Jed, have we been moving in this direction for too long? We are too far away from other people. I feel that the duration of my current mimicry is about to end."

"Haha, don't worry, I promise we are not too far away from the others. Hunting too much prey will naturally be harder to find. We will definitely find it if we look for it more. Hurry up, I have found the trail."

Jed, who was leading the way, answered and then trotted forward even faster, and Thomas followed immediately.

"Wait a minute! Jade first!"

Greg frowned slightly at Jed's words, but when he saw Thomas running up, he immediately followed.

Just like that, the three of them trotted forward all the way, and soon they came to a relatively wide meadow. As soon as they arrived here, the three of them discovered a small red figure in the middle of the meadow, which turned out to be a red little fox.

"We found our prey! Over there! Don't let it get away!"

After seeing the cute little fox, Jed shouted loudly. When Greg and Thomas saw that there was real prey, they immediately took a hunting stance and pounced on it together.

The lilac little fox was startled when he saw someone rushing towards him. He shuddered and immediately started to dodge.

The little fox's movements were very light and it dodged Thomas's pounce with extraordinary agility, but its action was predicted by Gregor, who immediately followed up with another pounce, pinning the little fox, who was about to escape, to the ground.

Just as Gregor was about to bite his prey, something he didn't expect happened: the little fox under his claws actually opened its mouth and spoke.

"Let me go! Let me go! Let me go right now! You bunch of black dogs!"

The little fox's voice was a clear female voice. Gregor and Thomas were both shocked when they heard this voice, because most creatures in the dream world cannot speak. Those that can speak in the dream world are usually mimics.

Is this little fox a mimic?

After coming to this conclusion, Gregor looked carefully at the little fox under his claws and found that she did not have the iconic green glowing patterns of the dream creatures on her body. This was indeed mimicry.

"Are you a mimic of a Beyonder?"

"Of course it's mimicry. You can't even tell, you bunch of stupid dogs! Just as grandpa said, all black dogs are a bunch of idiots! Idiots as stupid as they can be! Let me go now!"

The little fox struggled and shouted hard, but Gregor had no intention of letting go. He continued to hold the little fox and asked seriously in the tone of interrogating a prisoner.

"Tell me, which society's Beyonder are you from? What's your rank? What are you doing here? Tell me the truth!"

"I'll never tell you black dogs! Why do you care about me here? I want to ask you, do you dare to come to a place like this if you don't want to live? Even the Dream Realm Tigers don't dare to stay here. You black dogs are here to die!"

The little fox continued to shout. Hearing the little fox's words, Gregor was stunned. Then he seemed to suddenly realize something and asked the little fox.

"Tell me clearly what place even the Dream Realm Tigers dare not stay in..."

“Ahhh!!”

Just as Greg was about to continue asking questions to the little fox, a scream suddenly came from behind him. Greg turned his head and then suddenly opened his eyes wide.

Thomas, who was disguised as a black dog, was lying on the ground with a big wound on his neck. His whole body began to quickly disintegrate into spirits. Next to Thomas, a dark shadow was rushing towards him and pounced on his back.

Holding the little fox in his claws, Gregor dodged urgently. Although the surprise attack from behind did not subdue Gregor or hit his vitals, it left a big wound on his body. Gregor rolled on the ground in pain and stood up again. He looked at the black shadow that attacked him. It was none other than Jed, who led him and Thomas all the way here.

"Jade! What are you doing?!"

Gnashing his teeth, the injured Greg shouted at Jed not far away, and Jed silently came to Thomas' side and watched him disintegrate into the remains of black spiritual light spots.

"What? Isn't this clear? Hunting, of course...

"Before your mimics return to their original dreams and take the collected spirits with them, hunt them all. The spirits collected by one of you are comparable to several dream creatures."

"Look at Greg," Jed murmured. At the same time, the spiritual light spot that originally belonged to Thomas, floating in the air, gradually floated towards Jed and was absorbed into his body.
