Chapter 290: Hiring (1/2)

Chapter 290 Employment

In the northern suburbs of Tivian, at No. 17 Greenshade Town, Dorothy sat on the sofa in her home, looking at the beautiful letters on the letter paper in her hand with a serious expression. She did not expect that the information about Adele would come so quickly.

"Are you checking something right now? You're quite efficient. I thought I would have to wait for a long time."

Dorothy thought so. Now, it has only been about two weeks since the last theater incident, and there is news from Adele, which makes Dorothy feel a little surprised. Generally, it is normal for such a long-term investigation to have no results in two or three months. Moreover, compared with the Wolfblood Society, Adele and the Crimson Heart are still the weaker party. It is more difficult for the weak party to investigate the things of the stronger party. Dorothy did not have too high expectations at the beginning about whether Adele and the others could find out anything.

"Anyway, it's good to be able to find something. Teacher Adele is one of the clues for me to continue to explore the path of 'enlightenment'. I can't miss it easily."

Dorothy continued to think, and then she began to prepare for another visit to the Feydion Theater that evening. As she was about to put away the letter in her hand, she focused her attention on the impressive aroma on it.

"Although it's normal for female stars to spray some perfume on letters, I don't think Adele is going to use this scent to find me... Well, just in case, I'll use some stone wisdom powder to remove the smell from my body..."

Dorothy murmured so. Although she and Adele were in a cooperative relationship now, the other party was still an extraordinary person at the Cretaceous stage. In order not to be passive in some things in the future, some things that should be done should still be done.

With that, Dorothy put the letter away, then checked the time and began to prepare for a meeting later that day.

East Tivian at night.

On the streets in the dark night, the evening breeze was bleak, the leaves of the trees on both sides of the road were withered and yellow, and the road surface was still wet after a light rain. There were few pedestrians or carriages passing by.

The entrance to Feiteng Theater was unusually deserted. As there were no performances that night and it was drizzling, the usually bustling street in front of the theater seemed deserted. Only the occasional pedestrian passed by before the theater doors closed.

There was the sound of horse hooves and wheels in the distance on the street. A horse-drawn carriage, which was common in Tivian, stopped in front of the theater. The door opened and a man wearing a gray windbreaker, a top hat, a thin face, deep eye sockets and a hooked nose got out of the carriage. After glancing around, he exhaled a puff of steam.

After getting off the carriage, Ed took out a few coins from his pocket with his leather-gloved hand and paid the coachman. The coachman nodded to him slightly, then drove away.

After the carriage left, Ed straightened his collar and then walked towards the door of the Feiteng Theater. Just as he was looking carefully at the closed door, a voice suddenly came from beside him.

"Mr. Ed, please come over here."

Hearing this, Ed turned his head and saw a young man in theater waiter's clothes standing on his right. He asked him to bow and speak. Through Ed's perspective, Dorothy recognized this waiter. He was Adele's subordinate.

"Please lead the way."

Ed said to the waiter with a smile, and then the waiter nodded, turned and walked back, and Dorothy asked Ed to follow in time.

Following the waiter, Ed went around one side of the theater and then entered the theater through a hidden side door. Since there was no performance, many places in the theater were not lit, so the interior was very dim. In such darkness, Ed followed the waiter all the way forward, turning left and right in the huge theater, and finally walked into a room. The theater waiter stood by the door and made a gesture to Ed to come in, and Ed opened the door and went in.

When Ed entered the room, he was greeted by a faint scent of incense. He looked closely and found that it was a luxuriously decorated living room with famous expensive carpets, exquisite oil paintings, and a charcoal fire burning in the fireplace. Adele was sitting on the soft sofa in a simple dark red dress, with her long golden hair flowing behind her. Her face was free of the heavy makeup she used to wear on the stage, revealing a more natural beauty.

"Welcome, Mr. Detective Ed. I've been waiting for you for a long time. Please take a seat."

Sitting on the sofa, Adele looked at Ed who walked in and said with a smile. Seeing this, Ed was not polite. After closing the door behind him, he walked forward and sat opposite Adele. After seeing Ed sitting down, Adele picked up a bottle of red wine on the coffee table, poured two highball glasses, handed one glass in front of Ed, and then picked up the other glass and tasted it directly. Ed looked at the red wine, but did not pick it up to drink it immediately.

"Hmm? You don't want to drink? Detective Ed, are you afraid that I poisoned the wine? I just drank it first~"

With her usual teasing tone, Adele teased Ed and Ed replied with a smile.

"No, Miss Adele, you misunderstood. As a detective, it is important to keep a clear mind at all times, so I don't want to let alcohol paralyze my mind even a little bit."

"Haha...I see. It seems that Mr. Ed is really a person who is strict with himself. I admire that." Adele responded with a simple smile, and after drinking a little of the red wine in her hand, she put the glass on the table.

"Miss Adele, I think we can get straight to the point. Tell me in your letter that you have a clue about your teacher's belongings?"

Dorothy controlled Ed and asked directly, and Adele nodded after putting down her glass and responded.

"Detective, you're really in a hurry... We have plenty of time, and we can talk about anything... But since you're not in a hurry, let's get to the point."

Adele said this, then her expression straightened slightly and she continued to speak.

"I do have some clues about my teacher. In fact, detective, maybe you already know some of these clues."

Adele spoke bluntly, and after hearing what Adele said, Ed spoke with some doubts.
