Chapter 303: Sleep
Igwent, southwest of the Kingdom of Plit.
In the afternoon, the entrance to Igwynt Railway Station was bustling with people. Gregor, wearing a gray-black coat and a short hat, was standing in the crowd with a large suitcase in his hands. In front of him were two familiar faces.
"Ha, I never thought that you, a little black dog, would be promoted to the General Administration after only being in the bureau for a little over a year. I've been recruited for more than three years and I'm still so arrogant. It's really frustrating to compare yourself with others..."
Standing in front of Greg, the sturdy man Turner said with a grumble, while a simply dressed woman next to him glared at him and spoke.
"What black dog, black dog... Pay attention to your current identity, Captain Turner. You are not only scolding us, but also scolding yourself."
Elena said this, and Turner twisted his mouth and continued speaking.
"Hey, isn't this something I'm used to? Besides, this kid is so lucky, it doesn't matter if he's called Black Dog or something else. Do you think he's Gregor, hahahaha..."
Patting Gregor on the shoulder, Turner laughed and said, and Gregor also responded with a smile.
"Elena, Turner, thank you for coming to see me off."
"It's my duty to see you off. After all, we are colleagues. We have been through a lot together in the past few days. To be honest, I'm still reluctant to let you go." Elena said to Gregor with a smile, while Turner on the side continued to speak.
"Oh, why should we be reluctant? Think positively. If Greg does well in the headquarters and gets a good position, we will have connections in the headquarters, right? Maybe he can even bring us over someday."
"Tsk, now is not the time to joke around. How can you be promoted so quickly to the point of affecting personnel matters when you were just promoted to the General Administration? Can't you just say goodbye to each other properly?"
Elena continued to speak to Turner, and Turner finally waved his hand and spoke in response.
"Okay, okay, Brother Greg, then I wish you a safe journey."
"Well, have a nice trip, Gregor. Remember to write to us often when you get there." Elena nodded and said to Gregor, and Gregor responded with a smile.
"Of course. We'll keep in touch by letter from now on. It's getting late, and I should get on the bus. Say hello to Mr. James for me."
Greg waved goodbye to Elena and Turner for the last time, then turned around and walked into the station with his suitcase, entering the station with the crowd that was rushing into the station.
With a smile, Gregor quickly passed through the ticket gate and came to the platform. At this moment, there was already a steam locomotive parked beside the platform. Looking at the long steel behemoth in front of him, Gregor couldn't help feeling happy.
"Finally... Tivian, I'm here."
Gregor murmured that in recent times, he often entered dreams and hunted spirits with the little fox he met by chance in the dream world last time. Although the little fox's mimicry was not very strong, it was very familiar with the dream world, more familiar with it than anyone Gregor had ever met before. During this time, the little fox served as the commander and he served as the thug, hunting on the edge of the dragon's territory, and soon accumulated spirits to the point where he could be promoted.
Now he has finished dealing with all the affairs in Igwinter, and now is the time to go to the capital, Tivian.
With big strides, Gregor carried his luggage and walked towards the steam train that was about to arrive at the station. Unlike most people, he did not squeeze into the second and third class carriages at the middle and rear part of the train, but walked directly to the front carriage behind the front of the train. With his financial strength, he could still sit in the first class carriage when taking the train.
When they arrived at the first-class carriage, which was not crowded, Gregor handed his ticket to a young conductor guarding the door of the carriage. The conductor, who was wearing a uniform and a hat, immediately saluted when he saw Gregor arrive at the door, and then said with a smile.
"Hello, sir, please show me your ticket."
Listening to the waiter's words, Greg took out a ticket from his pocket and handed it to the conductor. After taking it, the young conductor looked at the information on it, especially the handwritten name, and immediately responded to Greg with a smile.
"Ah, it's Mr. Gregory Meschos. Your compartment is number eight, at the back of this carriage. Let me help you take your luggage."
The conductor handed the ticket back to Greg and said with a smile. Greg put the ticket away and nodded in agreement.
"Then it will be hard work."
Then, Gregor handed his gift to the conductor, who immediately picked it up and walked into the carriage. Under the guidance of the conductor, Gregor came to his own compartment, and entered his compartment after the conductor opened the door.
"Please wait inside for a moment, sir. The train is about to depart. If you need a meal, the dining car is in the back carriage. It provides delicious dinner for passengers in the first-class carriage. I wish you a pleasant journey."
After putting Gregor's luggage away, the conductor said the routine things to Gregor, to which Gregor smiled and responded.
"Okay, thank you for your hard work."
"That's what I should do, sir."
Finally, he saluted Gregor, and the conductor left the compartment. After closing the door, he walked forward along the aisle of the train. Halfway through, he suddenly turned his head, stared at Gregor's compartment, and after staring for a moment, he decisively turned around and walked forward.
Soon, all the passengers on the platform got on the train. After the conductor closed all the doors, the steam train started. As the whistle sounded, thick black smoke spewed out of the chimney of the locomotive. The steel wheels rolled slowly in the diffused steam, driving the huge body to gradually accelerate forward, and the whole train began to leave the station from slow to fast speed.
After arriving in the compartment and finally sitting down, Gregor breathed a sigh of relief, feeling the vibration of the train and looking out the window at the scenery flying backwards. Looking at the city where he had lived for more than a year, he couldn't help but feel a little nostalgic in his heart, and he had more expectations for his future life in Tivian.
He felt extremely happy when he thought that not only would he be promoted soon, but he would also be able to meet his only biological sister again.
'Wait for the surprise, Dorothy, your brother is here at last.'
