Chapter 350: Goal
In a corner somewhere on the edge of the Cathedral of the Holy Savior, Ed and Misha were sitting next to each other. The deal between them was nearing its end. After listening to the information from Misha, Ed slowly spoke under Dorothy's manipulation.
"Listen, ma'am. The Eight-Point spy who infiltrated your investigation team is now named Weihan Walder, from Exeter in South Lyme County. You remember him best."
"Wei Han?"
Listening to Ed's words, Misha's brows slightly frowned, and the image of the seemingly cheerful young man emerged in her mind. After spending the past few days together, she had a good impression of him, but she didn't expect that he was actually a traitor.
"I've read the information about this Wei Han. His resume is very clean. There is no record of any Eight-pointed Nest appearing in the entire South Lyme County. Is he really a traitor?"
Misha said to Ed with a doubtful tone, and Ed answered in a relaxed tone.
"If it's the real Wei Han... then there's no problem with myself, but the question is, is the person in front of you really him? You should also know what the ability of the Blood Darkness Path of the Eight-pointed Nest is? What is the name of their Black Rank?"
Ed pointed a finger at Misha and said, Misha was stunned for a moment after hearing what Ed said, and then she immediately understood and said.
"You mean... this Wei Han was replaced by the Shadow-faced Man of the Eight Points? That's not the original him?!"
Misha's eyes widened with a look of disbelief, while Ed beside her nodded in response.
"That's right. According to the clues provided by our spy in Bajian, the intelligence that you promoted people from the national branches to form an investigation and counter-espionage team was leaked from the beginning by the big spy in your bureau. So Bajian planned to replace the people you selected in the middle of the process, so that they could blatantly infiltrate your investigation team. And this poor guy who was replaced is Wei Han."
Ed explained to Misha. Misha still widened her eyes in disbelief as she listened to Ed's words. She shook her head slightly and murmured.
"Has the information of all the members of the investigation team been leaked? This shouldn't happen... Could it be that..."
Seeing Misha's expression, Dorothy raised her eyebrows slightly, and then she controlled Ed to ask Misha.
"Have you thought of something, Ms. Misha?"
"No…nothing."
Hearing Ed's words, Misha immediately responded, and then she looked at Ed seriously and spoke.
"You have reported that Wei Han is a spy within our organization. Do you have any evidence? How can we prove that you are not slandering us?"
"You have to find the evidence yourself. If you have enough, you can use a 'Qi' to predict whether Weihan Walder is still alive. If you don't have enough, you can also catch the impostor and use the 'Light' to detect the extraordinary traces on his body at a high intensity. It will probably take about a dozen 'Lights' to consume all the 'Shadows' on his body. He will no longer have the spiritual power to maintain his disguise. If he fails to resist the detection of the 'Light', the extraordinary effect of the disguise will be directly exposed."
Spreading his hands, Ed said to Misha. After hearing what Ed said, Misha couldn't help but sneered.
"Heh... no matter which plan we choose, the cost is a bit high... but at this time, some costs cannot be considered too much."
After Misha finished speaking, she changed the subject and continued speaking.
"Okay, now I have obtained the information I want. We have completed the transaction. Now it's time to talk about other things. If I remember correctly, we will also give you something."
Misha said so, and what she said was very clear, it was the reward that the detective should receive after returning the documents from Ulster.
"Thank you for remembering this matter. The reward we need is not much. Two tales related to 'Shadow' or 'Lamp' are enough. You should have more tales from other tales you have confiscated."
Ed responded to Misha. Misha couldn't help but speak in surprise after hearing Ed's request.
"Are you looking for a ton of biography? That's a rather special request. Okay. Also, since my answer to the previous transaction doesn't fully meet your requirements, I can add another one to this ton of biography. How about three in total?"
"Thank you very much. You can send these tons of information through the White Stonemasons Guild. The recipient is still the detective."
With a slight smile, he stood up and spoke to Misha, while extending his hand to her.
"Well, we have settled all the matters in this meeting. Now it's time to say goodbye. I wish we have the opportunity to cooperate again next time, Ms. Security Bureau."
Looking at the hand that was once again extended in front of her, Misha paused slightly, then stood up without changing her expression, stretched out her hand and shook hands with the other person.
…
North Tivian, on the street far from the cathedral area.
Although the weather on the streets in winter is not cold, as it is near the end of the year, many people are walking on the streets wearing thick clothes. The streets are usually crowded with workers who are busy hanging up trimmed branches, colorful flags and other beautiful decorations to set the atmosphere for the upcoming New Year.
Bits of snow fell on the road and melted in an instant. On the wet road, all kinds of carriages came and went. In one of the ordinary black carriages, Dorothy sat steadily in the carriage, looking at the snowflakes falling from the sky while thinking about what Ed had seen and heard in the cathedral just now. Her expression was not very bright.
"I didn't expect that... even the Security Bureau knew so little about the god of 'Shadow'. Not only the holy emblem... but even the name is unclear... This is really a mistake..."
Dorothy tightened her cotton coat and murmured in a low voice that although the transaction was not without gain for her, the biggest goal had not been achieved.
'The three volumes of the 'Light' or 'Shadow' legend can replenish the scarce spirituality, which is actually acceptable, but the key is that the 'Shadow' holy emblem is still not in hand. Although there are some clues... but it doesn't seem very reliable.'
Dorothy thought in her heart that although it was not clear at the moment, in her heart, the Moon Saint, the Mirror Moon Goddess was most likely the main god of "Shadow". The reason was simple. When she saw the message about the goddess in the underground ruins of the King's Campus, the spirituality she extracted from it was only "Shadow" besides the inherent "Inspiration", without any other spirituality. This could well prove the spiritual inclination of this goddess.
So Dorothy must have asked Misha for information about the Mirror Moon Goddess. Although the clues she got were not few, at least she did not get nothing.
