Chapter 4083: The Temple
In the interior of northern Ukraine, Addis, the capital of Addis.
In the suburbs of Addis, on the edge of a vibrant oasis, there is the oldest building in the entire Addis, which is the Cathedral of Prayer Light.
Although the Prayer Light Church is now a typical Radiant Church church, it is rumored that this building already existed here before the name Addis was officially used, before the teachings of the Three Saints were introduced to northern Ukraine, and before the Radiant Savior saved the world. It has witnessed the rise and fall of Addis and even Addis, and witnessed countless historical changes.
At this moment, Dorothy, wearing a traditional northern Ukrainian female robe, a headscarf and a veil, was standing outside the Prayer Church, looking around curiously. In her eyes, in addition to the many ordinary Addis citizens who came to the church to pray, there were also many buildings with strange styles.
Dorothy was at the front of the church at this moment. There was a long stone gate that was as wide as the church. Countless people were walking on the road. On both sides of the road were towering obelisks that were more than ten meters high. These obelisks, with their tips pointing to the sky, were arranged equidistantly from each other. There were no carvings on the square bodies of the obelisks, and their pointed tips pointed to the sky like spears.
At the end of the stone wall is the so-called body of the church. It is a tall building with a triangular roof supported by countless thick pillars. On the top of the stone pillars are mysterious runes and carvings intricately carved around the pillars. Each stone pillar is nearly ten meters high. The whole "church" looks very magnificent, revealing an ancient atmosphere that cannot be ignored.
"This place... compared to the churches on the mainland, the style is quite different. After all, this is a building from the Second Age. Although it has been converted into a church, the original features cannot be concealed. Rather than calling it a church, it is better to call it a temple."
Looking at the surrounding scenes, Dorothy thought to herself that she was not in a hurry to enter the church at this moment. Instead, she continued to look at the array of obelisks neatly arranged in front of her from the side of the road. Perhaps in the eyes of others, these obelisks did not have many characteristics, but in Dorothy's view, these obelisks were very interesting.
Although these obelisks look plain and simple, Dorothy, who is an extraordinary "initiate", can directly calculate the data of the obelisks by visual observation. Although there are many obelisks here, they are surprisingly consistent in almost all data such as the length and width ratio and the distance between them. The error is so small that it is far beyond the reach of buildings of this era. It makes people directly doubt whether they are really built by humans.
Although ordinary people cannot perceive such extreme details, for an extraordinary person like Dorothy, such details can be easily perceived. Moreover, such extreme regularity can present a very unique beauty in the eyes of extraordinary people, so Dorothy can notice it at first sight.
"These obelisks were also erected by the First Dynasty Civilization during the Second Era. As a civilization based on Enlightenment, many of them have traces of Enlightenment..."
Dorothy thought about this in her heart, and after looking around, she saw a tourist information board for foreigners not far away, so she walked over with great interest. Before the war, Addis was a city that often received foreigners, so there were many tourist facilities for receiving foreigners in the city.
Dorothy came to the tourist information board and curiously checked the content on it, and found that it was an introduction to this group of obelisks. In the introduction, this group of obelisks was given a very interesting name, called the Prayer Light Monument, but the light here was not the glow of light, but the lightning.
According to the tourist introduction, these obelisks are more likely to attract natural lightning in certain seasons. When the lightning in the sky strikes one of the obelisks, the lightning will strangely jump and connect at the tips of the obelisks and then disappear in a flash.
This is because there are almost no lightning strikes in Addis twice a year, so the chance to observe this phenomenon is extremely rare. It is so rare that ordinary tourists can hardly see it. There is a simple picture on the tourist introduction board. The picture shows the scene of lightning hitting the obelisk and the lightning linking and jumping on different obelisks.
"Wow... this obelisk can summon lightning? Does it have something to do with my Journey of Howling Wrath? And it also says that after lightning strikes the obelisk, it will jump to the top of the tip of the obelisk. What kind of scene is this?"
Looking at the text on the travel guide, Dorothy couldn't help but think this in her heart, and then she imagined the scene described in the text.
After examining the obelisks outside the "church", Dorothy continued walking along the path inside, following the crowd who came to pray into the church's main building. After walking up the long stairs and entering the church through two towering stone pillars, Dorothy saw a large open scene.
There were huge holes in the ceiling supported by countless large stone pillars, letting the sunlight from the sky shine down. The ground between the stone pillars was neatly paved with stone bricks with subtle patterns, where countless people knelt and prayed. Deep in this open-air temple was a glow-style altar that was quite inconsistent with the style of the entire temple. On the altar was placed the huge holy emblem of the Glowing Savior. The three holy emblems that were usually placed next to the Savior were nowhere to be found.
On both sides of the hall, there were many revolutionary guards armed with live ammunition standing guard, and many men wearing special priest robes of the Salvationist sect were holding scriptures in their hands and preaching to the citizens who came to Shadi to pray.
"There are quite a lot of guards. This place has been regarded as the main camp of the Savior Cult in Addis. The original Church of the Three Saints has been converted into a church dedicated to the Savior. Of course, neither the Three Saints nor the Savior were the gods originally worshipped in this temple..."
After taking a quick glance at the scene in the hall in front of her, Dorothy thought about it in her heart, and then she followed the praying crowd and continued to walk deeper into the hall. As she walked, she observed the scenes around her more carefully. Finally, the patterns on the floor under her feet attracted her attention.
The floor of the hall was paved with huge and heavy tiles. There seemed to be fine naturally formed lines on these tiles. These lines were nothing special in the eyes of ordinary people, but in Dorothy's eyes they were a different scene.
Yes, these patterns contain common knowledge texts! Just like the promotion stele of the Star Book Society, the patterns themselves do not contain any spirituality, but they can trigger the common knowledge texts that extraordinary people can conceive and understand on their own. This kind of common knowledge text can only be engraved by craftsmen who truly master the secrets of common knowledge texts. This is very different from the common knowledge texts written by Dorothy with the common knowledge feather pen of extraordinary objects.
In Dorothy's eyes, the patterns on the floor tiles of the hall began to change, turning into words that Dorothy could understand. At first, Dorothy thought that these patterns could turn into some special articles, but what she didn't expect was that in the end these patterns turned into numbers.
