Chapter 501 Conclusion
In the morning, bright sunshine spread into the spacious room. In the space covered with brightly colored carpets, countless armors and weapons were decorated on both sides of the room. A huge badge of glowing sun was hung on the wall. Under the badge was a large desk. Behind the desk, a handsome man in red robes, with short golden hair, was sitting behind it. He looked intently at a piece of document in his hand, with a trace of concentration revealed between his brows.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door of this huge room, and the knock was a little urgent. Hilbert, who was looking at the documents in his hand, paused slightly, then glanced at the door that I was knocking on, and then continued to speak.
"Come in."
In response to Hilbert's words, the door of the room was pushed open, and a tall man with a shaved head, wearing a combination of a priest's robe and armor, and with a suggestive look on his face, walked in quickly. He walked to Hilbert's desk, and before Hilbert could say anything, he spoke directly with an anxious look on his face.
"Sir! Something big happened in Addis! I just heard that Addis was suddenly hit by a severe thunderstorm, and the top leaders of the Addis Revolutionary Army suffered heavy losses. Almost all of them were wiped out! A small part of the entire Addis city was destroyed! It is said that those revolutionary soldiers blasphemed some ancient gods of Addis! They were punished by God!
"The top leaders of the Adus Revolutionary Army are gone, and the whole of Adus is going to be in chaos!"
Standing in front of Hilbert's desk, the man named Blake spoke in a slightly louder voice. Listening to his words, there was no change on Hilbert's face. He looked at Blake calmly, silently looking at him, which made Blake a little flustered, and then he spoke slowly.
"First of all, Addis was indeed hit by a thunderstorm, and the Addis Revolutionary Army did suffer heavy losses because of the thunderstorm, but it was far from being completely wiped out. Then Addis's thunderstorm hit the temple in the eastern suburbs and the royal palace in the city. Although it also caused great damage, it did not affect other areas outside of these two places. Except for the revolutionary army... no one else died in the thunderstorm. In addition... this was not a divine punishment personally sent down from the outside, but a purification carried out by an earthly sect that claimed to be the agent of God..."
Hilbert corrected Blake calmly. Hearing Hilbert's words, Blake was slightly stunned. He obviously didn't expect that the other party knew so much about the situation in Addis thousands of miles away, so he blurted out and spoke.
"Um...Sir, have you received the detailed information from there?"
After listening to Blake's words, Hilbert did not give a direct answer. Instead, he put the document in his hand on the table and continued to speak.
"Yesterday morning, the Confidential Department received a huge urgent report from the Addis delegation, reporting the sudden change in Addis. In the evening, we received a detailed report on the change. The special envoy, Sister Vanya, personally wrote down the whole process of the Addis change and the current situation in Addis. This morning, the cardinals' meeting had a preliminary discussion on this..."
Hilbert said this to Blake in a calm tone. Blake was slightly startled after hearing Hilbert's words, and then spoke a little embarrassedly.
"Ah... So that's how it is. I'm sorry, sir. I just heard this rumor and came to you in excitement. I didn't check it carefully, so there are many mistakes. Please forgive me...
"I didn't expect that under such a severe disaster, the nun's special envoys would be in great danger. I didn't expect them to survive, so I thought the Council of Cardinals didn't know the specific news yet."
Blake spoke to Hilbert in an apologetic tone. Seeing Blake's look, Hilbert did not intend to blame him, but continued to speak.
"Those rumors outside have been passed around for who knows how many times, so it's not surprising that there are more errors. Although the special envoy group suffered a lot of losses in the incident, they were not completely wiped out. What's more crucial is that according to the report of the little nun, the lightning disaster did not kill all the high-ranking officials of the Adus Revolutionary Army, but only killed a part of them... and they happened to be the part of the Salvation Sect heretics. Most of the rest who had little to do with those heretics survived..."
"What... you only killed the heretic?"
Listening to Hilbert's words, Blake's expression showed obvious surprise. He didn't expect that this lightning disaster would choose to strike people without too much involvement.
"Yes, only the heretic leader of the Salvation Sect, Mukhtar, and his personal guards died in the thunderstorm. The rest of the secular Shadi were almost intact. It was because those heretics occupied the temple of the ancient Northern Ukrainian god, the Judge of Heaven, and committed some blasphemy, so they attracted targeted retaliation. When they were conducting the third round of negotiations with the special envoys, a Northern Ukrainian woman named Isis, who claimed to be the Judge of Heaven, appeared and brought about a thunderstorm, destroying almost all of Addis's Salvation heretics..."
Hilbert continued to explain to Blake. Listening to Hilbert's words, the look of disbelief on Blake's face became deeper and deeper, and he continued to speak.
"Mukhtar... According to previous intelligence, isn't that a Chicheng priest? He is the supreme leader of the heretic Adus. Is the power of that thunderstorm enough to kill a Chicheng?!
"In addition... if the thunderstorm suddenly broke out during the third round of negotiations, wouldn't it be a bit too much? According to the information sent back by our own people, this negotiation is definitely not going to be successful. The last third round of negotiations was when the negotiations broke down. Suddenly, an Ancient God Cult came and killed the heretics, and left the secular people. Then, wouldn't the secular faction be the sole power of the Adus Revolutionary Army? Then wouldn't the result of this negotiation be..."
Blake said with a slightly ominous look on his face that they had been aware of the information about the Special Envoy's negotiations through their own people planted in the Special Envoy's guard. They knew the stubbornness and uncompromising nature of the heretical forces in the Revolutionary Army. As long as these heretical forces in the Revolutionary Army were still there, then negotiations would be impossible. And now that the top leaders of the heretical forces had been inexplicably wiped out, the uncertainty of the entire negotiation had increased.
For a moment, Blake was worried. He was afraid that the negotiation would lead to a result he did not want because of the incident. As if seeing the worry in Blake's eyes, Hilbert bluntly shattered Blake's lucky fantasy.
"In the report of that little nun, it has been written that they have reached an agreement with Shadi, the only leader of the current Adus Revolutionary Army. Shadi assured the special envoys that he has drawn a clear line between himself and the Salvation heretics. After clearing out the remaining heretical forces in Adus and consolidating his own power, he will immediately start to ban the Salvation belief in the entire Adus and prohibit any missionary activities of the Salvation in Adus. He will start to publicize that the new Adus government will absolutely support the religious authority of Shenglin Mountain and the orthodox status of the Three Saints. He also actively requested us to station troops on the border of Adus and send archbishops to supervise nearby.
"Heh... I never expected that the little nun we found for her to negotiate with actually succeeded."
With a self-deprecating smile, Hilbert explained to Blake. Blake was stunned for a moment after hearing Hilbert's words. He was stunned for a long while before he murmured.
"It's done... it's really done. Isn't this... isn't this a little too coincidental? Your Excellency, this situation is too far-fetched! This Heaven's Judge Cult, I've never heard of it before, and it suddenly appeared at this critical juncture... killed all the heretic leaders of Addis, and then helped that little nun? The reason is that they desecrated the temple... This is too outrageous."
Blake said to Hilbert in astonishment that sending Vanya to the muddy water of Adus was their conspiracy, and they wanted Vanya to be tainted by the muddy water and let Amanda's people be backfired by their own propaganda. But they didn't expect that Vanya had not been tainted by the muddy water, but the muddy water disappeared inexplicably! This would make a lot of people think that it was Vanya's credit, and that it was her credit that purified the muddy water!
Hilbert's conspiracy was counter-acted by this inexplicable thunder. Blake could not help but feel anxious. He had foreseen how Amanda and others would use this incident to promote the belief in the Three Saints after Shadi officially announced that Adus respected the Three Saints. Last time, they were able to promote this little nun as an evangelist with more than 100,000 people in Xiashu. Now with 20 million people in Adus, they would directly promote her as a saint!
