Chapter 593: Word Change (2/2)

"Thank you for your help..."

John and other frightened passengers were evacuated by the dock staff. At the same time, on the steel frame of a dock crane, a figure in thick clothes and wrapped tightly was lying there with a hacksaw beside him. He looked at the scene below and frowned.

While following the staff to leave the scene, John took a few deep breaths to ease his tense nerves. Then he couldn't help thinking that if the strange sign hadn't appeared just now, he would have been hit by it. The only reason he could still stand here was because of that strange sign that could change.

Thinking of this, John immediately turned around and looked into the crowd again, trying to find the magical sign that reminded him. However, this time, all he saw were crowds of people, and there was no trace of the sign. He himself could not find the person holding the sign.

"Where did this... go? What on earth is that word? Am I dazzled?"

John was confused and hopeless after seeing this scene, and he was taken away from the scene by the dock staff without knowing it. Just as he and several other frightened passengers were taken to an open area, another staff member was walking towards him with a plate of cakes and smiling.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the incident just now was our fault. We apologize for the shock you caused. Please enjoy these cakes and relax."

After the staff member finished speaking, he brought the plate with the cake in front of everyone. Then several quick-eyed and quick-handed passengers immediately picked up one and ate it. Suddenly, there were only two left on the plate. Just as John looked at the plate, a familiar scene appeared in front of him.

In John's eyes, the decorative pattern on the edge of the exquisite plate suddenly came alive, just like the words she saw on the sign in front of her, and it came alive with swimming loaches, swimming around and forming words and phrases on the plate, which appeared in front of John's eyes.

"Don't eat the last one."

John was stunned when he heard this, and then he immediately realized that there were only two cakes left on his plate. The one on the left was being taken by another passenger. After he took it, there was only the last one left for him.

After what happened just now, John subconsciously listened to the "suggestion" on the plate. He immediately grabbed the second to last cake that was originally taken by someone else, and then said something else to the people in front of him.

"Thank you for your hospitality. I have something else to do, so I'll leave first..."

Having said that, John turned around and left with the cake. The passenger who was originally preparing to take the cake looked at the last piece of cake left on the plate, and couldn't help but frowned slightly, looking at John's departing back in the distance with a solemn expression.

After leaving those staff members, John quickened his pace and quickly prepared to leave the dock. When passing by a trash can, he threw the cake in his hand into it, and then continued to walk quickly forward. At this time, he had already vaguely realized in his heart that the atmosphere on the scene was not right, and what he wanted to do now was to leave quickly.

"There's something wrong with this place... We have to leave now!"

In this way, John kept on traveling, and soon he left the dock and went to a carriage distribution center, preparing to take a carriage to leave the port area. As he was walking on the street leading to the carriage distribution center, some graffiti on the road sign at a corner of the street in front of him began to change again. Just like before, the originally unrelated strokes were recombined in front of John to form a sentence.

"When you pass this sign, stop for a moment."

Seeing the magical word "㫧" appear again, John immediately acted subconsciously and stopped when he came to the front of the road sign. Less than a second after he stopped, a speeding and almost uncontrolled carriage came from the blind spot at the corner of the road, rushed onto the sidewalk, and sped past John's eyes with a scream. The wind brought by the uncontrolled carriage blew across John's face, making John's heart feel cold.

Standing where he was, John stared blankly at the horse-drawn carriage that almost brushed past him and had now crashed into the street beside him, with people and horses falling down and the scene in a mess. Many innocent passers-by were injured. John tried to imagine what would have happened if he had not been kicked but was hit directly, and a chill ran down his spine.

"What the hell is this..."

Seeing the scene before his eyes, John was filled with nameless fear. He had only been on Tivian soil for a dozen minutes and had narrowly escaped danger several times. If it hadn't been for that strange word reminding him, he didn't know what he would be like now.

This scene seemed to make John have certain associations in his mind. Then, sensing the crisis, he frowned and clenched his hands holding the suitcase. He kept looking around secretly, as if there might be crises lurking everywhere, and his inner restlessness became more and more intense.

Although John still doesn't understand the specific situation at the moment, he already knows that he must leave this area quickly, no matter what!

Just as John was about to start to leave, he heard the sound of horse hooves beside him. John immediately turned to be on guard. Then he saw an ordinary hired carriage slowly driving towards him along the road, and then slowly stopped. The driver on the carriage was heading towards the accident scene where a crowd of people gathered in the distance.

"Oh my...what happened? Driving like this is really careless..."

On the carriage, the young driver Ka looked at the accident scene in the distance and commented. Then he smiled at John who was watching the roadside and continued speaking.

"By the way, sir, are you waiting for a carriage? If so, get in. We can go anywhere in the city."

The driver said this to John. After what happened just now, John, who was still in shock, wanted to refuse the driver's invitation. However, when he saw the scene on the door of the carriage, he was startled again.

On the door of the old cab, the scratches that were originally densely packed together now became lively, like the font John had seen before, twisting and reuniting on the door to reconstruct a simple sentence.

"Get in the car."
