Chapter 52 Divination

Chapter 50: Divination

In the night of Igwinter, in a dimly lit secret room.

This is a small secret room with a strong smell of blood. In the center of the room stands a small altar made of bloody human bones. On top of the altar is a piece of flesh wriggling on the skull, with all kinds of strange organs growing on it.

Under the altar, a dark red carpet was laid. Around the altar were bookshelves, desks, and various display racks. There was also a large basin filled with blood, in which human body parts were soaked.

There were two figures standing in front of the desk. One was a thin, gloomy, middle-aged man with a mustache. He was Buck from the Red Communion. The other was a slightly hunchbacked old man. He was also from the Communion.

Buck and Clifford, the two core members of the Red Communion, were standing together at this moment, their eyes stern, and Clifford was a little impatient.

"Buck, hurry up, it's almost time..." Clifford said to Buck anxiously, but Buck did not respond to him. Instead, he walked silently to a portrait in the secret room.

After staring at the portrait for two seconds, Buck reached out and opened it, revealing a safe behind it. Buck then set the password for the safe, used the key to open it, and took out the things inside.

Buck walked to the desk and put the things in his hand on the desk. There were two things, one was a bracelet inlaid with orange gems, and the other was a small piece of stone with a flat side. The flat side of the stone was engraved with dense and neat unknown characters.

Looking at the things Buck put on the desk, Clifford's eyes immediately lit up.

"Is this... the divination device left by the mentor?" Clifford murmured with his eyes wide open, and Buck nodded in answer.

"Yes, the divination tool, the precious divination tool... With it, we can transcend the constraints of time and space and obtain information from the dimensions of the inner world." Buck said silently, while Clifford continued to speak in disbelief.

"Beyond the confinement of time and space to obtain information, what exactly are these two things? What can be so powerful?"

"Hehe... Actually, it's just a spiritual storage..." Buck smiled slightly, then glanced at the two items placed on the table and continued speaking.

"According to the teacher, what is needed for divination is not these two items, but the spirituality stored in these two items. Generally speaking, no matter what form of divination is, in order to complete a divination, two necessary spiritualities must be provided."

"The two kinds of spirits necessary for divination...which are they?" Clifford asked eagerly after hearing Buck's words, and Buck did not hide it either, he answered directly.

"It's 'light' and 'enlightenment'..."

"The spiritual powers required for divination...are 'lamp' and 'inspiration'?"

"Yes... According to the teacher, 'light' means insight, and 'enlightenment' means information. Using 'light' to gain insight into 'enlightenment', you can instantly obtain the information you want beyond time and space."

Buck spoke slowly. Listening to Buck's words, Clifford nodded and murmured in understanding.

"Using 'lamp' to see through 'enlightenment', and thereby obtain information beyond time and space? Is this the essence of divination? One has the meaning of insight, and the other means information. They are really different from the 'cup' we are pursuing."

Looking at the food on the table, Clifford continued to think before speaking.

"After all this time, this is the first time I know the principle of divination. So, if I can get the spirits of 'Lamp' and 'Qi', can I also do divination?"

"That's true. As long as you master the method and consume your spirituality, you can do divination. The method is generally very simple. The key is spirituality. Spirituality is the most difficult to get..." As Buck spoke, he looked at the bracelet inlaid with orange jewels on the table.

"Among them... the spirituality of 'Lamp' is not bad. Many of them can be found in the items that flowed out of the Glowing Church. The Glowing Church is too big, and many things flowed out. Sometimes secret societies that exist in the form of religions can also produce some 'Lamps' in daily activities. Moreover, there are many extraordinary 'Lamps' who have defected from the Glowing Church. These guys will also cooperate with some 'Stone' craftsmen to make extraordinary items of 'Lamps' and trade them... Therefore, it is not difficult to find items that store 'Lamps'..."

As he spoke, Buck looked at another piece of gravel on the table with dense words engraved on one side.

"But... this 'Enlightenment' is much more difficult to obtain. According to the instructor, due to the knowledge of poison, the number of extraordinary people who are related to the spirituality of 'Enlightenment' in the entire secret world is pitifully small, and it is even more difficult to find extraordinary people who can embark on the path of 'Enlightenment' from the beginning. And 'Enlightenment' happens to be the most difficult spirituality to integrate into a physical object. Currently, only the stone murals excavated from ancient ruins and engraved with the secret history of ancient knowledge contain a small amount of 'Enlightenment'.

"For example, this... This is a fragment of an inscribed stone tablet discovered in some ruins. The 'Qi' contained in it is an important thing left by the mentor..." Buck said, pointing to the broken stones on the table, while Clifford on the side also sighed.

"This thing contains the precious spirituality of 'Enlightenment'..."

"Yes, it took a lot of effort for the instructor to get it. I didn't want to use such a precious thing, but now I have no choice. We must find the traces of those guys."

As he spoke, Buck officially began to prepare for divination.

"Black phosphorus lime powder...silver powder...red-winged bird blood...antique bronze ink..."

Buck started to work quickly. He first mixed various materials on the table, and finally made a bottle of gray-yellow ink that flashed with fluorescent spots. Then he used the ink to paint on the table, and finally drew a rectangular magic circle. The upper part of the magic circle was mainly the symbol of "lamp", and the lower part was mainly the symbol of "start".

Then Buck placed the bracelet containing "light" and the gravel containing "enlightenment" on their respective symbols. Finally, he walked to the bookshelf and pulled out a large piece of paper. He came to the table and spread it flat in the center of the magic circle, which was between the symbols of "light" and "enlightenment". Upon closer inspection, it was a map of the city. At the top of the map, the word Igwinter was spelled.

This is a city map of Igwynt.

"I will use the divination method of the Pendulum to make sure those guys have no place to hide!"

As he spoke, Buck took out a single-chain crystal pendant from a small box on the desk. He held the pendant in one hand and placed the crystal hanging from it in the center of the magic circle, above the Igwynte map.

"I bring forth the all-seeing lamp to illuminate the sea of enlightenment..."

While muttering, Buck began to swing the crystal pendant in his hand. The pure crystal began to sway back and forth on the map of Igwinter, and at the "lamp" mark, the orange gem inlaid on the bracelet began to shatter, and at the "open" mark, cracks appeared on the fragments of the stone tablet engraved with ancient characters.

The invisible spirit was freed from the restrained objects and surrounded the ceremony scene.
