Chapter 1 Appearance

Seeing his plan fail and being insulted by Song Wanning, Wen Tingbai said with a dark face, "Song Wanning, you are in power now, but one day I will step on you."

After Wen Tingbai finished his harsh words, he pulled out a stack of banknotes from his sleeve and threw them on the ground. "Didn't you ask for money? I'll give it back to you! I, Wen Tingbai, am truly unlucky to have married a heartless and ungrateful woman like you."

After doing all this, Wen Tingbai finally felt relieved and turned around and returned to the Marquis' Mansion without looking back.

Song Wanning glanced at the colorful bird beside her and said calmly, "Pick up the money and lock it in the small warehouse. No one will go against money."

Caique responded and picked up the banknotes that Wen Tingbo had thrown on the ground and put them into his sleeves.

Song Wanning had no time to meddle with Wen Tingbai's affairs. He was now childless, and it was impossible for him to have any biological children of his own. He could no longer marry the daughter of a noble family in Shengjing. His career was probably at an end, so it seemed like he was avenging himself in his past life.

Song Wanning was thinking about the tea business she had told Yin Yichen not long ago. She should just go for it now. Otherwise, she would be ridiculed when Yin Yichen asked about the methods she had not explained.

Thinking of Yin Yichen, Song Wanning didn't know whether she should be happy that she had an ally or sad that she had someone watching her business every day.

Song Wanning thought about it and started to do what she wanted to do.

Zhuque brought Song Wanning the news she had been looking for. "Miss, I've taken people to investigate the streets of Shengjing. There are quite a few teahouses in Shengjing these days, and all of their tea is imported from Lingnan. Among them, the best-performing ones are undoubtedly Songfenglou, the capital's largest teahouse, and its rival, Bishuitang."

"However, the clientele of these two teahouses is similar. They've been competing fiercely in recent years, and now Bishuitang has gradually declined. Other tea merchants and teahouses are countless, so it's probably not easy for us to gain a foothold here."

Song Wanning looked at Zhuque with a faint smile on her face. "I'm afraid that Bishuitang will become increasingly inferior to Songfenglou now. But let's not rush into it. Let's go find the tea merchants and order the tea first. I want to meet with all the dozen or so tea merchants I asked you to find."

"I understand, girl."

Song Wanning said this as she returned to the courtyard, packed her things, and found a veil to wear. Although doing business in Shengjing was not uncommon nowadays, she was still an unmarried woman from an official family, so it was better for her to keep a low profile.

Song Wanning and Caique Zhuque went out together and met the largest tea supplier in Shengjing today.

The supplier's name is Cai Changgu, who has always been in the tea business of transporting tea from Lingnan to Kyoto. Now his family has become a wealthy family in the capital thanks to this business.

The bosses who bought tea from these tea merchants were always either wealthy or noble. If Song Wanning didn't have any background, she wouldn't even be able to meet Cai Changgu. As a last resort, Song Wanning showed her token from the General's Mansion, and the servant at the door went in to announce and invite her in.

Song Wanning sat on the chair, and Cai Changgu opposite her was respectful. "Young lady, as the daughter of the general's mansion, you have no worries about food and clothing, and you are rich and powerful. Why do you want to have a share of the tea business?"

Song Wanning sighed softly and replied with a smile, "To be honest with you, Boss Cai, which noble family in the entire capital doesn't own some business or property? My father has just returned, and although we have a lot of money and food at home, we can't just sit back and enjoy it all. We need to make more plans for the future. Once this teahouse is settled, I will hand it over to my subordinates to manage, and it won't be me who will be in charge."

"But the beginning is always the hardest part. Ultimately, it's up to my family to come and meet Mr. Cai. Unfortunately, my father and brother are busy at home and can't get away right now, so I'll have to make the trip. Mr. Cai, please don't make it public."

"That's for sure, that's for sure." Cai Changgu responded repeatedly and nodded towards Song Wanning. "I just don't know how much goods Miss Song wants to take?"

"Boss Cai, how much can you give me?" Song Wanning said calmly, explaining her purpose. "I haven't chosen a location for my teahouse yet. I plan to buy some tea and then start running a teahouse. In case anything goes wrong, I want to buy some tea cakes that can be kept for a longer time."

"Miss Song's considerations make sense," Cai Changgu said with a smile. "However, the annual output of tea cakes is limited, and Songfeng Tower and Bishuitang have already reserved some. I'm afraid there won't be much left for Miss Song."

Song Wanning knew the rules of the business world and said directly without further ado, "Boss Cai, I'm new here, so I'd like to thank you for your care. Please leave me as many tea cakes as you can. I only want good quality ones. The price of these teas is 10% higher than that of Songfenglou and Bishuitang."

As Song Wanning spoke, she took out a banknote from her sleeve and placed it on the table. She looked at Cai Changgu and said, "This one hundred taels of banknote is a deposit for Mr. Cai. I will accept all the tea that Mr. Cai ships this year."

Cai Changgu bowed and smiled at Song Wanning, "Miss Song is really a straightforward person. In that case, Cai will take over this business."

After hearing this, Song Wanning smiled sincerely. Now that the tea source has been acquired, although everything is difficult at the beginning, the business will only get smoother and smoother in the future.

Song Wanning bid farewell to Cai Changgu, and took Caique and Zhuque to meet another tea merchant, where she managed to get the largest share of tea, so the trip was worthwhile.

When Song Wanning got on the carriage to return home, the sun was already setting and was about to go down the mountain.

Cai Que looked at Song Wanning from inside the carriage, her eyes tinged with worry. "Miss, our business is growing bigger and bigger now. Are you really not going to tell the Master and Second Master?"

Song Wanning chuckled and reassured Caique, "These businesses are still under my control. Don't worry, this is a sure-win business. We just need to buy the tea leaves and store them in the farm outside the city. Find someone to keep it dry and well-ventilated. We will definitely be rich next year."

"That's right, young lady." Cai Que responded. She felt relieved to hear Song Wanning's encouragement.

As soon as the master and his two servants arrived at the gate of the Song Mansion and the carriage stopped, Zhuque got off the carriage first, stood at the door of the carriage and stretched out his hand to help Song Wanning.

Song Wanning had just lifted the car curtain and stuck her head out when she heard a clear and crisp male voice, "I heard my uncle say that you were always restless and ran around outside all day. Now that I see you, I know what my uncle said was true."

Song Wanning was surprised and looked up, only to see a man standing at the gate of the Song Mansion, leaning on the door railing with his arms folded, looking at her with a smile.
