Chapter 2 System loading complete! Has the owner gone mad?

The Kingdom of Barak, Soto City.

At an auction house, the glazed tiles on the plaque bore the two large characters "Seven Treasures," though they were somewhat faded. A few people stood sparsely at the entrance.

The man in the lead was a middle-aged man around forty years old, slightly overweight, and dressed in a fairly decent manager's uniform. He was Li An, the manager of the auction house.

He was followed by two or three young men, all of whom looked somewhat dejected.

"Uncle Li."

A younger subordinate couldn't help but speak up, his voice very low.

"You mean... what kind of person did headquarters send this time?"

"Has our auction house really been completely abandoned?"

"The previous owners were either just coasting along and waiting to die, or they came here temporarily and then used their connections to get transferred out..."

"Shut up!"

Ang Lee frowned and reprimanded him in a low voice.

"How can you presume to know the sect's arrangements?"

"Stand up straight, all of you!"

"We eat the food of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School, so we must guard the pot of the sect well. No matter who is sent from above, we must do our best to assist them!"

The young man shrank his neck, mumbled a reply, and quickly straightened his back.

After Ang Lee finished speaking, his expression remained unchanged, but his heart was filled with bitterness.

He was well aware of his current awkward situation.

Tier D auction houses have limited resources, are in remote locations, and offer virtually no profit.

The people sent down from above are mostly disciples who have lost power or lack talent within their sects. They come here mainly to retire or wait to be completely eliminated.

He has been guarding this place for over twenty years!

As one owner after another came and went, the auction house's situation steadily declined.

I wonder how long this group can last.

Could he be just another good-for-nothing who's wasting his life?

Just then, the rhythmic sound of horses' hooves approached from afar.

A carriage with the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile School logo clearly printed on the side of its carriage slowly drove through the crowds on the street.

Li An immediately perked up.

"They're here!"

He gave a low shout and straightened his clothes.

The carriage came to a stop at the entrance of the auction house.

The carriage curtain was lifted, and a slightly thin young man stepped out of the carriage.

The young man had a handsome face, with a hint of youthful spirit still lingering between his brows, but his eyes were unusually calm, and his back was ramrod straight, exuding a unique air of composure.

Li An was slightly taken aback.

This new owner...

He doesn't seem to have given up on himself.

Moreover, he is indeed very handsome!

He quickly stepped forward and bowed in greeting.

"Your subordinate, Li An, is the manager of this auction house. I respectfully welcome the owner!"

Then, several young people behind him also bowed.

Ning Liu's gaze swept over Li An, then looked at the listless subordinates behind him.

Is this his team for the foreseeable future?

Although the number of people was small, Li An seemed quite composed.

He didn't say much, he just nodded.

"Um."

He then strode directly toward the entrance to the auction house.

Ang Lee and the others quickly followed.

The auction house was quite spacious, but there was a faint smell of dust in the air, and the facilities looked rather old.

As soon as he stepped through the gate, Li An quickly took two steps and came to Ning Liu's side and slightly bowed.

"Owner, you must be tired from your journey."

"Your subordinate has prepared a light feast in the backyard to welcome you and wash away the dust of your journey. Why don't you take your leave first..."

Before he could finish speaking, Ning Liu suddenly stopped.

He stood frozen in place, as if under a spell, a look of disbelief on his face.

Because, just now, a cold, emotionless mechanical voice resounded directly in the depths of his mind.

[Beep beep...]

[Host detected has arrived at the designated location: Soto City Seven Treasures Auction House.]

[Auction refund system officially activated.]

[System loading... 10%... 50%... 100%]

[System loading complete.]

Ning Liu's pupils constricted slightly.

system?

What is it?

Hallucination?

[This system is an "auction return system," which has been successfully bound to the host Ning Liu and the Soto City Seven Treasures Auction House.]

The core rules of the system are as follows:

[I. Auction Cycle: Auctions may be held every three days, with a maximum of ten items per auction.]

[II. Auction Return: After an auction item is successfully sold, the host will receive a random amount/item return equal to 1 to 1 times the auction price.]

[III. Forced Auction: In each auction, the system will randomly select one item strongly associated with a "specific person" and force it to be listed for auction.]

[IV. Extra Critical Hit: If the buyer experiences drastic emotional fluctuations (such as anger, shame, or pain) during the auction process, the return multiplier will receive a random critical hit boost.]

[V. Additional Rewards: After each auction, the system will distribute additional rewards to the host based on the overall performance of the auction (sales volume, return multiplier, special events, etc.).]

A series of messages flooded my mind, crystal clear, and definitely not a hallucination.

Ning Liu was completely dazed.

Auction refund?

Ten thousand times?

Forced auction?

Can emotional fluctuations be amplified?

this……

He stood frozen in place, his mind racing, trying to comprehend this sudden turn of events.

Before he could fully process it, the system's voice sounded again.
