Led by two divine guards, Ning Liu and his group arrived at the so-called Nine-Colored Palace. The entire palace was built of a seven-colored glazed material, which shimmered with a dreamlike luster under the sunlight.
Outside the palace, numerous buildings surround the Nine-Colored Palace.
The architecture here is not of any known style on the Douluo Continent; it soars into the clouds, yet possesses a rounded and rustic quality.
"Wow, this place is really grand."
Xu Jiushi looked around and couldn't help but mutter to himself.
"It looks even more grand than our Liuli Heaven."
Ning Liu walked at the front, not saying a word, but silently observing his surroundings.
“My Lord Oracle, the High Priest is waiting inside the temple.”
The guard on the left spoke respectfully, and then, together with his companion, pushed open the heavy palace door.
The interior of the main hall was spacious and solemn, with countless luminous gems embedded in the dome, like stars.
In the very center, an elderly man dressed in a white ceremonial robe stood with his back to them, gazing up at the star map on the dome.
His hair and beard were all white, and his figure looked somewhat hunched.
"High Priest, the Oracle has arrived."
The guardian knelt on one knee, his voice devout.
The old man slowly turned around.
His face was covered in wrinkles, but his eyes were exceptionally bright.
He didn't look at the two guards first, but instead focused his attention directly on Ning Liu and Ning Rongrong.
It was a kind of scrutiny, a kind of exploration.
Ning Liu and Ning Rongrong also assessed the situation and directly revealed their martial souls.
"Nine-Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda..."
"Two...there were actually two..."
An unbelievable light burst forth from his cloudy pupils, and his body trembled with excitement.
He strode down the platform, ignoring everyone else, and went straight to Ning Liu and Ning Rongrong.
Then, the high priest stretched out his withered hand, seemingly wanting to touch the Nine-Jeweled Pagoda beside them, but stopped in mid-air, as if in awe of something.
"The ancient prophecy has come true... The Nine-Colored Goddess has not abandoned her people..."
He muttered to himself, then, as if remembering something, looked at Ning Liu solemnly.
"Please forgive my rudeness, but for the sake of the Nine-Colored Palace, for the survival of this world, I must confirm it."
How can I confirm this?
Ning Liu asked.
"Please, both of you, infuse your soul power into your martial soul and unleash its most primal light."
The high priest's expression was extremely serious.
Ning Liu and Ning Rongrong exchanged a glance and nodded.
The two of them shouted at the same time, their soul power surging.
In an instant, the two pagodas shone brightly, and a dazzling nine-colored halo spread out from their bodies.
The entire hall was enveloped in this light, and the already luminous gems shone even brighter under the nine-colored light!
Bathed in this light, the high priest's wrinkles seemed to smooth out.
He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and then, as if using all his strength, knelt down on the ground.
"Qi Yue, the 317th High Priest of the Nine-Colored Palace, respectfully welcomes the Oracle!"
The two guards behind him had already prostrated themselves on the ground, not daring to even raise their heads.
"The high priest please arise."
Ning Liu stepped forward, and a gentle surge of soul power supported Qi Yue's arm.
"We know nothing about this place and need your help to clear things up for us."
Qi Yue stood up, his excited emotions gradually calming down, replaced by a sense of relief and satisfaction.
"Please come with me."
He led the group to a side hall on one side of the main hall.
Here are rustic stone tables and chairs, and a huge map hangs on the wall, depicting the mountains and rivers of this world.
After everyone was seated, Qi Yue slowly began to speak, recounting the secrets of this world.
"As you can see, this is not Douluo Continent, but an independent secret world."
"This world was created by the great Nine-Colored Goddess, whose purpose is to protect it."
"guard?"
Ning Rongrong asked curiously.
"Yes, to protect."
Qi Yue's expression turned serious.
"It was also for suppression."
He pointed to the map on the wall, the edges of which were shrouded in large swaths of black.
“Those places are the lairs of the evil beasts.”
"What exactly is this Beast of Sin?"
Xu Jiushi couldn't help but ask.
"They are not soul beasts."
Qi Yue shook his head.
"They are... the source of evil."
The word sent chills down the spines of everyone present.
"Tens of thousands of years ago, the Nine-Colored Goddess and the God of Food joined forces to seal the dimensional rift that invaded Douluo Continent. But those dark creatures from other dimensions were essentially an evil source. Even if they were destroyed, the energy they leaked would pollute everything."
"The Goddess is merciful and did not want these filths to continue to erode the Douluo Continent, so she created this secret realm to seal the most stubborn and incorruptible evil sources within it."
"And the sin beasts are special life forms that have evolved over tens of thousands of years from the sealed origins."
Qi Yue's tone was full of apprehension.
"They have no physical form, but their instinct is to devour and erode. They will devour the life force of all living beings to strengthen themselves. What is most terrifying is that they can disguise themselves and imitate. Except for not being able to possess a true martial soul, they can transform into the appearance of almost any creature they have devoured."
Hearing this, Ning Liu suddenly felt enlightened.
No wonder those two guards shouted and threatened to kill them the moment they met; they mistook them for disguised beasts.
