clang!
One sound followed, another crisp metallic clang.
Yue Guan leaned on the heavy, dark gold hoe, panting heavily.
Sweat trickled down his temples, dripping onto the scorching hot metal soil, instantly evaporating into a wisp of white smoke.
He has been working up a sweat here for seven days straight.
In seven days, this titled Douluo, with his extraordinary physique and soul power, could only cultivate a small plot of land.
This land is so small that even ten plants would be too crowded, let alone a hundred chrysanthemums.
Every swing of the hoe felt like a struggle against a mountain.
The immense force of the shock traveled through his entire body along the hoe handle, causing his blood to surge.
This is not farming; it is clearly a primitive and brutal form of physical training.
He glanced at the distance not far away.
Bibi Dong and Ning Liu sat motionless like two statues, surrounded by a faint glow of energy.
Yue Guan gave a wry smile and gripped the hoe tightly again.
He had no complaints, but felt that this test from the gods was really...unreasonable.
"clang!"
"Your efficiency is too low."
I don't know how much time passed.
A cold voice sounded from behind.
Yue Guan paused, turned around, and saw that Bibi Dong was already standing behind him, her purple eyes calmly scrutinizing the "masterpiece" he had cultivated.
"Your Majesty," Yue Guan said, somewhat embarrassed.
Bibi Dong didn't say much, she just held out her hand, "Give me the hoe."
Yue Guan handed it over as instructed.
Bibi Dong gripped the heavy hoe handle with one hand and weighed it in her hand.
Unlike Yue Guan, she didn't infuse her soul power into it. Instead, she concentrated her soul power inward, focusing it on her waist and abdomen, and slightly spread her legs, assuming a posture purely for exerting force.
She took a deep breath, strained her back and waist, tensed her arm muscles, and swung the hoe down fiercely!
"clang!!"
Sparks flew everywhere, and the noise was much louder than that caused by the moon gate.
On the ground, a gash nearly twice as deep as before suddenly appeared.
But Bibi Dong's arm, which was holding the hoe, also trembled slightly.
She raised an eyebrow. "There's definitely something strange about this. The soil is constantly dissipating the impact."
"Elder Ju, I think you should switch to blacksmithing. This hammering and banging has a better future than farming."
Ning Liu's voice was tinged with laughter as he walked over. He crouched down and carefully examined the new hoe mark.
"The density of the laws in this soil is extremely high, and pure power will be greatly weakened. To break through it, what is needed is... penetrating power."
As he spoke, he took the hoe from Yue Guan's hand. He didn't start using it immediately, but instead closed his eyes.
A moment later, he opened his eyes, mimicked Bibi Dong's posture, concentrated all his strength into one point, and thrust it down suddenly!
"puff!"
A muffled thud. The tip of the hoe had sunk a full half-foot into the ground!
Both Yue Guan and Bibi Dong showed expressions of surprise.
Ning Liu pulled out his hoe and explained:
"We cannot fight with brute force; we must find the weakest point and act accordingly."
"interesting."
Bibi Dong's lips curled up, as if she had found a new source of amusement. "Instead of sitting idly, I might as well stretch my muscles and bones."
"I'd be happy to oblige," Ning Liu said with a smile.
Then, a strange scene appeared.
The Pope of the Spirit Hall and the Sect Master of the Glazed Heaven Sect, several powerful figures whose mere presence could shake the continent, were now like two ordinary farmers, each with a hoe (as if sensing their arrival, the gods conjured two more hoes), beginning their vigorous land reclamation work.
With the help of two strong ally, especially after Ning Liu found the trick, the reclamation progressed by leaps and bounds.
Yue Guan quickly mastered the skill of "going with the flow" and stopped relying solely on brute force.
A month later, a field ridge large enough to plant a hundred chrysanthemum plants was finally prepared.
The subsequent sowing and watering were equally challenging.
The seeds of the Golden Chrysanthemum are like small golden pebbles, which need to be wrapped with soul power and carefully buried in the soil.
The water needed for irrigation requires the combined efforts of the three to compress and condense the pure energy in the air into drops of "spiritual dew" containing the breath of life.
This process is a great test of both the consumption and control of soul power.
When all one hundred chrysanthemum buds broke through the soil, shimmering with a metallic luster, the three of them felt a heartfelt joy.
However, the trouble had only just begun.
The day after the sprouts appeared, a faint buzzing sound came from afar.
A golden "cloud" appeared on the horizon, flying toward the field at an astonishing speed.
"What is that?" Yue Guan's expression turned serious.
“Insects.” Bibi Dong’s tone turned cold.
As the "golden cloud" drew closer, it became clear that it was a swarm of thousands upon thousands of thumb-sized golden beetles.
These beetles were shimmering with iridescent light, moved with lightning speed, and had a clear target, heading straight for the newly sprouted chrysanthemum buds.
"God only gave a hint that these are chrysanthemum crickets and must be captured using physical methods."
Yue Guan said urgently, and with a flash, he rushed out.
He reached out and grabbed at the nearest chrysanthemum insect.
Given his reaction speed as a Title Douluo, this grab should have been a sure thing.
However, the chrysanthemum cricket made an incredible turn in mid-air, instantly bypassing his palm without slowing down in the slightest.
Yue Guan's grab missed, and he nearly fell over.
"Such speed!" he exclaimed in surprise.
"Their flight paths are not straight lines, but rather involve constant spatial jumps."
