Chapter 34 Missing
"What did you say! Zhuyi is missing!"
The loud noise woke up Xie Lingyi who was sleeping soundly.
The last bit of sleepiness he had finally managed to escape was interrupted. Xie Lingyi's face was as dark as if ink was dripping out, and he opened the door with a bang.
"Dad! What's your name?!"
Commander Lu was talking to the guard anxiously and had no time to pay attention when he heard his daughter's voice.
"Gather everyone now and go look for him! How could he be missing? Ask if anyone has seen him! No! It's still not enough! I'm going to send a telegram now to request additional support!"
After saying this, Commander Lu hurried towards the study.
When Xie Lingyi saw her father coming over, she was about to speak, but Commander Lu didn't even look at her.
Her already irritable mood became even gloomier, and she raised her eyes to meet the guard's.
"What happened?"
"A young educated youth has disappeared."
"What's the name of that educated youth?"
"Shen Zhuyi."
Xie Lingyi nodded, and for some reason, his heart suddenly skipped a beat, and an inexplicable sense of unease surged in his heart.
"When did she disappear?"
"This afternoon, some villagers said they saw her heading back home. After checking, we found that the road behind her leads to the mountain, so it is very likely that Shen Zhiqing went up the mountain."
Xie Lingyi was stunned for a moment, then he thought of something, his face suddenly changed, and he rushed outside.
The sky was gradually getting dark. Chen Zhuyi was holding a rabbit in his arms, eating a meat bun in his hands, and a book on his legs.
After eating, he felt sleepy. Chen Zhu yawned, put the book away with his consciousness, took a blanket from the space and covered himself with it, closed his eyes and prepared to spend the night like this.
Just as I closed my eyes, a voice suddenly came from above my head.
"Do you need me to pull you up?"
When Chen Zhu heard this, he looked up and saw the little girl he met in the black market last time, and thought to himself, "Oh no!"
I thought there couldn't be anyone on the mountain at this hour, so I didn't check to see if anyone was on me when I was collecting my things. Could this person have seen me?!
And now she has a blanket on her! How do you explain that?
Saying that you like living in a cave? Taking a blanket to sleep on; or saying that you come to the mountain to dry your blanket, both of these sound nonsense.
Chen Zhuyi was in turmoil, but he didn't show it on his face.
"You can't pull me up. I sprained my ankle and have no way to use it to get up."
The little girl was about to say something when her expression suddenly changed and her figure disappeared at the entrance of the cave. A moment later, another head popped out. Chen Zhu raised his eyes and met Xie Lingyi's gaze.
Xie Lingyi didn't expect that Shen Zhuyi would actually fall into this trap. She was about to speak when her eyes fell on the thing in Shen Zhuyi's arms and she paused. Her voice rose: "Where did you get your rabbit?"
Chen Zhu was puzzled when he saw Xie Lingyi staring at the rabbit.
"I saw it on the roadside today."
Xie Lingyi was about to say something when he suddenly heard footsteps from the side, and then Huo Jinzhi appeared with the dog.
Huo Jinzhi was a little surprised when he saw Xie Lingyi on the mountain. When the dog led him to the cave entrance and he saw Chen Zhuyi inside, his tone was full of worry and joy.
"Are you hurt?"
Xie Lingyi stood there blankly, watching the tenderness bursting out of Huo Jinzhi's eyes, perhaps even he himself was not aware of it.
This touch of tenderness is something I have never experienced before.
Why is this happening?
Such a good plan! Why did it fail? If it was her who fell into the hole, would Huo Jinzhi also look at her so tenderly?
No, it won't.
Xie Lingyi knew very well in his heart that he wouldn't.
So, this tenderness is for Chen Zhuyi; the reason why her father ignored her today is also because of Shen Zhuyi.
Xie Lingyi stood behind, watching the scene of Chen Zhuyi being pulled up by Huo Jinzhi. He stared at their contact, his whole body trembling uncontrollably, and the brutality in his eyes could hardly be hidden.
Kill them all!
"Takeichi!"
Ye Xumei's voice awakened Xie Lingyi's consciousness. She stood there, thinking of her previous thoughts, her heart filled with fear, and turned around and ran down the mountain.
Ye Xumei hugged Chen Zhuyi tightly.
"You scared me to death!"
Chen Zhu hugged Ye Xumei again and looked at the huge crowd of people behind Ye Xumei. He knew that it was his fault today and turned around and bent down with difficulty.
"I'm so sorry to bother you all so late."
Secretary Chen and the village chief also ran over and waved their hands when they heard Chen Zhuyi's words.
"My household registration is in the village, so I belong to the village. We are one family and we don't talk behind each other's backs. As long as everyone is fine, that's all that matters."
Chen Zhu nodded, and Ye Xumei helped Chen Zhu down the mountain. After taking two steps, they heard the village chief's puzzled voice: "This hole looks like it was newly dug."
Secretary Chen came forward, squatted down, touched the soil, and nodded affirmatively.
"It must have been newly dug. The soil is damp. I guess it was dug in the past few days. It's quite deep."
The village chief was a little surprised: "Why dig a hole here? There are so many bushes here, it's easy to fall! Who did this?"
Basically everyone on the island came, and everyone looked at each other, but no one admitted it.
Huo Jinzhi stood aside, a dark light flashing in his eyes.
When Chen Zhuyi walked down the mountain, Commander Lu was already waiting there. Seeing that Chen Zhuyi was not seriously injured, he breathed a sigh of relief.
"Your home is too far from here. I'll ask the driver to take you home."
Chen Zhu looked at his swollen ankle and the distance that would take about half an hour to walk normally, and nodded: "Thank you, Uncle Lu."
As soon as Chen Zhu sat down, Commander Lu was about to sit in the passenger seat, but Huo Jinzhi suddenly called him.
When their eyes met, Commander Lu understood that Huo Jinzhi had something to say, so he waved his hand to let the driver go first and he would walk home later.
The driver arrived at the door of Chen Zhu's family and the two got out of the car.
Standing in front of the gate, Chen Zhu took out the key to open the door, and realized something was wrong as soon as he entered.
Why didn’t Sui Sui, who usually would rush over to her with wagging tail whenever she came back, come over?
"Hmm."
Following the sound, Chen Zhu saw Sui Sui curled up under the rocking chair where she usually sat. He walked closer and found a clear black footprint on Sui Sui's white fur.
Kicked!
Chen Zhu's pupils shrank suddenly, and he carefully reached out to carry Sui Sui out.
"Years."
Sui Sui heard a familiar voice and opened his eyes with great effort. After smelling a familiar smell, his tail began to wag and he struggled to stand up.
"Hmm, hmm."
It seems like he is expressing his grievances.
Chen Zhuyi was a little worried, so he took a cup of hot milk and only felt relieved when he saw Suisui was willing to drink it.
Also willing to eat.
He carried the baby into the house and fed Suisui some chicken breast. After observing him for a while and making sure that Suisui had no symptoms of discomfort, Chen Zhuyi went to sleep peacefully.
The test results are out. Chen Zhu ranked first in the written test and can go for the interview in the afternoon.
This news was brought by Ye Xumei. She knew that Chen Zhu would not be able to go to school to check his grades due to a sprained foot, so she took a day off to help.
"I borrowed a bicycle from the village chief's house. You can sit on the back and I'll take you there."
"good."
Chen Zhuyi also put the plan of buying a bicycle on the agenda.
In the afternoon, Hope Primary School.
Chen Zhuyi was brought to school by Ye Xumei, and the other four also arrived.
Only the top five candidates in the written test are eligible for interview.
Chen Zhu glanced at the faces of the four people and found that three of them were familiar faces.
