"Niannian...how old is she?" The old lady forced a smile and looked down at the little baby in her arms.
The little boy looked up at the strange-looking old lady and said in his childish voice, "Niannian is three years old!"
The old lady almost couldn't catch her breath.
"Grandma, what's wrong?" The little boy blinked his clean, clear eyes and asked curiously.
The old lady gave a stiff smile and tentatively asked, "Then...did the Crown Prince play any...'games' with Niannian?"
game?
Upon hearing this, Huo Chengche felt that something was amiss with the conversation.
The little dumpling immediately replied in a soft, sweet voice, "We played! Niannian played hide-and-seek with Prince Brother. Prince Brother then took Niannian to hatch candies! It's like Niannian and Prince Brother slept on Prince Brother's bed, and the next day a candy hatched!"
Upon hearing this, the old lady's face darkened, and she glared sternly at Huo Chengche, "Che'er! Even if you are the crown prince, you cannot do whatever you want! Some things are immoral! Are you confused! How old is Nian Nian!"
Huo Chengche was taken aback, then suddenly realized what the old lady was thinking. His handsome face darkened, and he couldn't help but rub his temples, quickly explaining, "Grandmother, what are you thinking! How could Che'er do such a beastly thing?"
"Then what about you..." The old lady breathed a sigh of relief, and the sternness on her face immediately disappeared, replaced by some confusion.
She looked down at the little baby, who also looked innocent, blinking her big, dark eyes at the old lady with a blank expression.
Huo Chengche smiled helplessly and looked at the old lady, "Grandmother, why don't you think about what you're asking! You're making the 'game' sound complicated, but Niannian can't possibly think of it that way."
The old lady choked, her face turning slightly embarrassed. Then, her face flushed, she glared at the brat and said, "So how do you expect this old woman to ask you!"
Huo Chengche curled his thin lips into a wicked smile, "Just be direct. As long as you think you're asking a serious question, it's other people's business if they misunderstand. Anyway, Nian Nian doesn't know."
The old lady lifted her eyelids and glanced at Huo Chengche sideways.
Huo Chengche smiled nonchalantly, gently pinched the little boy's nose as he searched for food, drew the little boy's attention, and then asked directly, "Niannian, did your Crown Prince brother hurt you last night?"
The old lady's face flushed red, and she glared at Huo Chengche fiercely, as if she had thought of something.
The little boy was still confused. He thought about it seriously for a moment, then shook his head and said in a childish voice, "No, it's comfortable in the Crown Prince's arms. It doesn't hurt."
Huo Chengche got the answer and shrugged at the old lady.
“Grandma, Che’er just slept while holding Niannian. This chubby little dumpling is so comfortable to hold, so I used candy to trick her into bed.”
Huo Chengche only said this last sentence to the old lady in a low voice when he saw the little boy intently searching for food.
Finally, he added helplessly, "Look at you, what have you been thinking?"
The old lady had been a bit listless, but after being intimidated by this brat's few words, she was now full of energy and had the strength to scold people.
"You little brat! You've really grown wings, daring to play tricks on your grandmother now! Instead of wasting your time playing tricks on this old woman, you should be thinking about how to get your imperial grandmother and father's approval! By the time this child reaches the right age, you'll be twenty-five! Do you think they'll agree then?"
The old lady snorted coldly.
To everyone's surprise, Huo Chengche smiled nonchalantly, "This is the little darling of the Prince of Hengchang's family. My father and grandmother are just hoping I can bring her back, so why would they stop me?"
