Xuan Di simply shoved him, a gloating sneer playing on his thin lips, and said coolly, "She was like this when we arrived. If we knew how she got like this, would we need to come to you? You should go and take a look; she looks quite ill."
Although Luo Dangdang was a little annoyed by the push, she didn't doubt what Xuandi, this "little kid," was saying.
So he stopped in front of Hua Xiao, who was being held down, and turned his head, only to be caught off guard and his mouth met that of a large python covered in slick, venomous venom.
Their eyes met, their lips pressed together, but the giant python's view was blocked by Luo Dangdang, so it could no longer see the little ancestor and the tiny ancestor.
"Hiss—"
A sinister, icy voice rang clearly in her ears, and Luo Dangdang was forced to clearly feel a narrow, icy snake tongue slicing across her lips.
Luo Dangdang's eyes widened suddenly when she saw the scene before her.
"Ah—a snake—a snake—?!!"
A ghostly wail echoed through the valley, and then a Taoist priest scrambled in between Huo Chengche and Xuandi, grabbing one person and then another, crying and shouting in a hoarse voice, "Snakes! Help!"
Of course, Luo Dangdang wasn't the only one screaming in the valley; Hua Xiao, who was being held down, kept screaming for the python to bite them to death.
Hua Xiao, who had gone mad, seemed to have a burst of strength from somewhere. Even when she was being held down, she kept struggling. The guards were having a hard time dealing with her and were unable to gag her.
The two voices echoed incessantly in the valley, deafening and extremely noisy.
The little girl was completely bewildered and had no idea what was going on. The noise made her puff out her cheeks, and she buried her head in her older brother's arms, tugging at his big hand with her little hands.
Sure enough, her little ears were gently covered, while her other little ear was pressed against his heart. The steady, powerful heartbeat entered her ears, low and rhythmic, much more pleasant than those howling ghosts and wolves.
Huo Chengche looked at his annoying little dumpling, his brows furrowed in annoyance, and his deep, sharp gaze swept over the culprit.
Xuan Di frowned, finding the noise quite annoying. He glanced at Huo Chengche's gaze, shrugged speechlessly, and kicked Luo Dangdang, who had just claimed to be a "highly enlightened Taoist," sending him sprawling.
The sudden kick actually woke Luo Dangdang up.
In an instant, the cacophony of noise abruptly ceased, leaving only Hua Xiao's hysterical screams echoing through the valley.
Luo Dangdang shakily got up, trembling with fear, his neck hunched and shaking. After the initial shock, he was a little dazed and slowly turned his head. When he saw the giant python, he dropped the whisk he was holding.
He quickly picked it up, his hands trembling as he held it, and pointed it at the giant python, his voice shaking, "What kind of monster is this! I...I...I'm telling you, I...I'm the disciple of the Supreme God's own brother! You'd better run now, or I'll...I'll subdue you later!"
Huo Chengche glanced at him sideways, clearly not believing him at all.
Xuan Di watched the show with a smug grin, arms crossed. Seeing Luo Dangdang's comical appearance, his mocking smile became even brighter. He then coolly reminded him, "Master Luo, it seems you're holding your whisk upside down."
