When Tong Youlin returned with the brothers who had cleaned up the mess, he saw a little boy standing at the entrance of the village with a small dog in the distance. When he got closer, he realized that this chubby little furball did not seem to be a dog.
My friend Lin unexpectedly turned the tables and won today. He was in high spirits when he got excited and squatted down to take a closer look. He felt that the little guy was neither a cat nor a dog.
"Wow, what a rare little beast this is! We've been roaming around in the forest since we were kids, how come we've never seen one before!" Tong Youlin looked at the gray and white mottled fluffy ball and reached out to touch its head in amazement.
The boy looked down at Tong Youlin, who had a full beard, and said calmly, "This is a tiger cub."
Tiger, tiger?!
Just as Tongyou Lin was about to pat its chubby little bottom, he stopped abruptly, frozen in mid-air. Cold sweat broke out on his cheeks, and he gave an embarrassed smile before withdrawing his hand.
"Old... tiger cub?" Tong Youlin chuckled awkwardly, rubbing his hands together. He looked at the suddenly appearing young boy and asked for confirmation again, unable to believe it.
The young man's thin lips curved slightly. "Hmm, little tiger cub."
As he spoke, he threw the rope in his hand in front of the tiger cub, his voice cold and stern, threateningly saying, "Go find someone, or you won't get any meat."
"Awoo!"
The white egg that was brought over to be a dog protested with a small howl, but after being glanced at by the boy, it immediately tucked its tail between its legs and slunk away, continuing to sniff around.
"Awooooo~!"
The little tiger sniffed around for a couple of steps, then suddenly raised its head and let out a joyful roar. As it roared, it strode forward on its four short legs, heading in the direction of Tongyou Lin's house.
"Hey! You little brat! Even a small tiger is still a tiger! How can you just release it like that!"
Tong Youlin stared blankly at the little tiger running away. When he saw the very familiar thatched hut in the distance, he immediately became anxious. He glared at the boy who had appeared out of nowhere, and without bothering to scold him, he quickly chased after him.
Upon seeing this, the boy narrowed his eyes slightly and immediately followed.
In the backyard, the people in the cellar had just come out. Tiger's mother counted them one by one, and seeing that no one was missing, she closed the cellar again.
Wang Sheng, Huang Qiang, and the others, who had returned before Tong Youlin, had already vividly recounted what had just happened in the woods.
Just as Little Baby Bao Bao had said, when they sneaked out, the constables and yamen runners from Linghe County, dressed in black boots and carrying long knives, were hiding in the woods, watching the situation in the village from afar, ready to make their move.
If they hadn't known beforehand, and it was early morning when their defenses were at their weakest, and they had suddenly stormed in, they would have been caught completely off guard, and the entire village would likely have perished.
Seeing this, Tong Youlin made a decisive move, ordering everyone to take action immediately and launch a surprise attack. Wang Sheng and Huang Qiang, who had circled around from above, arrived just in time with their men and suddenly dealt them a heavy blow from the side.
Soon, those people fled down the mountain in a panic.
Zhuangniu, upon hearing that the little girl had told him about those people, immediately asked her with curiosity and admiration, "Niannian, how do you know all this? Are you really a mountain god? Is being a mountain god fun? Is it really awesome?"
