Chapter 189, /.

In an instant, the place that was just crowded became empty. Tong Youlin, as the host, naturally stayed behind, along with a pair of trembling old men—Liang Sheng and Jia Wen.

Xuandi leaned against a large tree with his arms crossed, a blade of grass dangling from his mouth, watching the play with nonchalant interest.

Huo Chengche ignored them, holding the little silly baby who buried his head in his chest and refused to come out, and slowly walked towards the bandits, giving his guards a look.

The latter immediately understood, stepped forward and kicked the group of trembling bandits who were begging for mercy twice, yelling, "Get up and kneel down!"

Sure enough, the bandits, terrified, were unusually obedient. Although they were trembling violently, they immediately complied upon hearing the order, moving swiftly as if afraid that if they were any slower, they would become the giant python's dessert.

Huo Chengche glanced indifferently at the bandits who were trembling like leaves. They were kneeling like quails, and there was no trace of the ferocity they had shown when they said they were going to massacre the village.

"Raise your head," the boy's clear, cold voice rang out, filled with deep displeasure, icy and profound, "Where did your imposing manner go when you threatened the villagers just now?"

Cheng Dadao had been roared at in the face by the tiger several times, and he was already terrified. It was only because he was brave that he hadn't gone mad. At this moment, he was trembling so much that he could hardly kneel down. He hurriedly said in a panic, "I was blind! Gods, gods, have mercy on me!"

Upon hearing the sudden use of the word "immortal," Huo Chengche's anger choked, and his temples throbbed.

Tong Youlin didn't notice anything amiss. His earlier fear had completely turned into anger. He angrily stepped forward, grabbed Cheng Dadao by the collar, and roared furiously.

"You bandit brat, what are you pretending to be honest for now? Have you forgotten the look on your face when you said you were going to slaughter our village?! Weren't you just looking down on our prince and these two gentlemen?!"

Cheng Dadao wished he could go back and slap himself twice. When he met Tong Youlin's angry eyes, he quickly grabbed him as if he were a lifeline.

"Brothers, it was all a misunderstanding! We just wanted to scare you a little, we didn't mean anything by it! You see, we robbed your village before, and you teamed up with us to cheat us once, so let's call it even, okay!"

As he spoke, he caught a glimpse of the boy's cold, indifferent face out of the corner of his eye, which made him even paler. He clung tightly to Tong Youlin, his words tumbling out in fear.

"Brother, please spare us! You have influence with the little deity, and we all have families to support. Please, have mercy on us and put in a good word for us! I promise we'll never bother you again! I promise!"

After Cheng Dadao finished speaking, his terrified brothers quickly echoed his words.

Tong Youlin only talked tough, but he had never actually killed anyone. Seeing Cheng Dadao so scared, he felt relieved.

He threw down the large knife, snorted coldly, and although his face was still dark with anger, he turned to Huo Chengche and said, "Your Highness, if you ask me, we should just beat them up. We don't want to take lives for these beasts and have trouble sleeping at night."

Jia Wen stood up, his leg shaking. Upon hearing this, he immediately took over the job from Liang Sheng, the lackey, and raised his voice to scold, "How dare you! His Highness has the authority to decide how to deal with them. Who gave you the right to interrupt?"
