The little dumpling listened intently to his fifth brother's movements. When he heard his fifth brother heading towards the artificial hill on the other side, he immediately smiled happily, his dimples appearing as he nestled quietly in his prince brother's arms.
Those mischievous, watery eyes darted around and around, sparkling brightly like starlight. Peeking out from Huo Chengche's arms, their adorable, pink and sweet appearance was simply irresistible.
Huo Chengche looked down at the little bundle of joy squirming in his arms, his thin lips curving slightly as he subtly pulled her closer.
When he looked up again, the boy's dark eyes were deep and unfathomable as he peered out through the crack.
Xuan Di's figure stopped, and half of his body could be seen through the gap.
The little boy curiously came over, blinking his bright black eyes, looking at his fifth brother's back as he stood there, and proudly raised his little nose to sniff carefully.
"Did Niannian smell anyone over there?" Huo Chengche looked down at the little baby in his arms and asked softly.
The little dumpling blinked its watery eyes, sniffed carefully twice more, blinked blankly, then pouted its little face and brought its little ears closer.
"There are clearly people here..." The little boy pounced into his older brother's arms in confusion, his rosy little face full of bewilderment.
Huo Chengche held the puzzled little boy in his arms, his expression growing increasingly serious. He knew that the person Xuan Di had discovered was the one who had prevented the little boy from smelling anything.
Similarly, Xuandi was also able to sense the abnormality.
He had been following slowly from a distance and hadn't counted the hundred.
The usually carefree young man was just playing around with his silly little sister; he would never actually count to a hundred like an idiot.
But he wasn't stupid; he naturally made some disguises, such as slowing down his footsteps and masking his scent. At least he made sure his little bundle of joy wouldn't realize he was following him.
Xuan Di overheard Huo Chengche and Zhuang You's conversation. Walking nearby, he also heard the sounds, but as for the aura...
He narrowed his eyes, lightened his steps, and quietly circled around to the back of the sound.
A long-bearded man in a Taoist robe was crouching in a gap in the artificial hill, peering towards the area where Huo Chengche and the little boy were hiding.
Huo Chengche disappeared in a flash, and he was searching for him anxiously.
Xuan Di narrowed his eyes, giving him a deep look from head to toe. A cold, eerie light flashed in his icy eyes.
"Old man, who is this?"
A boy's nonchalant, wicked laugh echoed softly, and the Taoist priest, who had been peering around, suddenly shuddered and turned around with a "whoosh."
"Who...who are you?!"
As soon as the voice rang out, the little baby's ears twitched, and he immediately tilted his head up and said to his older brother, the Crown Prince, in a childish voice, "It's that deceitful Imperial Advisor!"
Imperial Preceptor...
Huo Chengche's deep eyes sharpened, and his expression had just darkened when he was amused by the little boy's soft, sweet voice.
He wanted to tell the little boy that the Imperial Advisor wasn't his father-in-law, but after thinking about it, he didn't say it. That unworthy Imperial Advisor wasn't qualified for the little boy to go to the trouble of changing his address for him.
Huo Chengche gently patted the little boy in his arms, whose eyes were bright and black, and coaxed him softly, "Shh, let's not make a sound, or Fifth Brother will come looking for us."
The little baby quickly covered his mouth with his tiny hands, leaving only his pair of bright, dark eyes, blinking and sparkling mischievously.
Huo Chengche looked at the little boy nodding earnestly, a faint smile playing on his lips. Then his gaze turned deep, and he stared intently at the commotion over there.
