"Okay," Huo Chengche replied casually. Looking down, he saw his little wife staring at him with her big, bright eyes, as if she were checking up on him. He quickly gave her a doting smile, not daring to pretend to be unwilling in front of this silly little girl.
When the Empress Dowager heard Huo Chengche agree, she breathed a sigh of relief. But when she looked up and saw Xuan Di's face, which was as black as the bottom of a pot, she was furious. She snorted coldly and let out a long sigh of relief.
Seeing the Empress Dowager's reaction, Xuandi knew that she had completely misunderstood.
For a moment, he didn't know whether to be angry with her or to sympathize with this "upright" old lady.
