"You really won't go with me?" Nanxi changed into her dress and came out. The man was already waiting outside.
He was wearing a black training suit with jungle camouflage underneath, and black military boots wrapped around his trouser legs. He stood tall, resolute, majestic, and upright.
"If I go, those grandchildren will tremble, and won't my father-in-law glare at me again?" He pursed his lips and smiled.
"Let Boha wait outside. I'll bring you back when it's over. I have something else to do."
Nanxi glanced at him with her beautiful eyes and smiled, "My handsome dragon is so well behaved."
She was wearing a sea-blue gradient fishtail dress today, with her long, slightly curly hair hanging down to her buttocks. She looked like the legendary mermaid princess, incredibly beautiful.
The man embraced her with his big hands, "Didn't you say you were just going to clean up, huh? Nan Xiaoxi, you look so beautiful dressed up, I suddenly don't want you to go."
The woman rubbed her head against his chest obediently, "Just to make you jealous. Humph, to let you know, if you dare to treat me badly, I will immediately turn around and marry someone else."
"Nan Xiaoxi, you really know how to poke me in the heart."
Baru gritted his teeth, picked the person up with one hand, took the high heels from her hand, and walked out the door.
"Just take a couple of steps on this thing, don't hurt your feet."
"I understand. When I come back, wait for me at the door and carry me in." She leaned close to the man's ear and whispered to him deliberately.
"I'm used to it."
…
The dinner party held at the Angsu Mansion was originally a gimmick to win people's hearts. As soon as Nanxi entered, some people brought their own children to meet her. After all, the eldest daughter of an inner circle even had her hair inlaid with gold.
Although they were all young people, the powerful class was particular about circles. She had no intention of dealing with the second generation of power in Naypyidaw and just nodded and said a few words in response.
Of course, the eldest lady doesn't need to attend social events in person. Han Yingna has followed Nan Zhenguo for many years and is well versed in this.
Nanxi found the right time, sneaked to a deserted place, drank juice, and read fans' messages on Weibo.
After three rounds of drinks, Nan Zhenguo called her over and introduced her to the protagonist of today's banquet, the man named Ang Mingda. Almost instantly, Nan Xi understood why her father called her over today.
She tightened her grip on the bag, her expression remaining unchanged.
After a few pleasantries, Nan Zhenguo left on the pretext of something, leaving only Nan Xi and the man at the table.
"Miss Nan, my father told me that you studied art?" Ang Mingda spoke fluent English.
"Um."
"What a coincidence! My master's degree minor is European art history. I think we should have a lot of common topics."
"Um."
Nanxi bit the straw, she was so angry that she didn't hear what the man opposite her said at all.
Ang Mingda saw that she was absent-minded and coughed awkwardly, "Miss Nanxi, did I say something wrong to make you unhappy?"
Nanxi came back to her senses and smiled politely, "No, Mr. Ang, I have something else to do, so I'll be out for a while."
"Miss Nan." Ang Mingda called her and stared at her for a few seconds, but finally just smiled. "It's raining outside. Do you need me to take you home?"
"No need, my boyfriend will come to pick me up." Nanxi's face was polite and distant, with the calm and indifferent attitude of a young lady from a noble family.
Gentleman Ang Mingda nodded and watched her leave with inquiry and curiosity in his eyes.
After going to the bathroom, Nanxi called Boha and asked him to drive the car to the side of the road and she would be there soon.
While washing hands, I ran into Han Yingna.
The little woman narrowed her dark eyes and said, "Tell my dad that I'm not feeling well and I'm going back first."
Han Yingna hesitated, "Xixi, the party isn't over yet. Zhenguo might be unhappy if you leave early."
Nanxi raised her eyebrows and smiled, then walked towards Han Yingna step by step.
Han Yingna looked at her pretty face, which became more and more creepy. She took a few steps back and leaned against the wall.
"Stepmother, you are the best at acting coquettishly to coax men. Please help me coax the old man. Please." She said please, but her face was cold and there was no softness in her tone.
Han Yingna had no doubt that if she dared to say no today, the eldest lady would have a hundred ways to deal with her tomorrow. Everyone around Nan Zhenguo recognized the eldest lady and didn't recognize her at all, so she had no room to refuse.
"Okay, Xixi, I'll talk to him. You go back and get some rest early." Han Yingna responded with a dry laugh.
"Then, thank you, stepmother." She raised her hand and lifted Han Yingna's chest-wrapped dress, pulling her surging breasts inward.
"This dress doesn't suit you." She smiled faintly, then frowned slightly and shook her head. "Your lipstick color isn't nice either. After all these years, how come your taste hasn't improved at all? It's still so gaudy."
After the eldest lady finished speaking, she turned around and walked away with her waist twisted. She was so arrogant and bright that made people jealous.
Han Yingna's long nails were almost digging into her flesh. She desperately tried not to let her tears fall. She looked at her own face in the mirror opposite her, which was only three years older than her. "How can it be vulgar? It's obviously very beautiful."
She talked to herself, but tears were streaming down her face.
"What are you being so arrogant about? Isn't it just that you're better at reincarnating than me and found a rich father..."
…
Nanxi got in the car. Boha saw that she was in a bad mood, so he drove straight to the villa without asking any questions.
At night in Naypyidaw, there were almost no vehicles on the wide road, and sparse raindrops fell. Nanxi, who was already feeling uncomfortable both physically and mentally, just wanted to go home quickly and have a good sleep in Ba Xiaolu's warm arms.
"Boha, drive faster."
