On the Gobi Highway, a dilapidated old truck moved slowly forward, like a dying but unyielding old man, leaving a long trail of exhaust behind it.
In the open-air garage at the back, a sheep was leisurely eating hay, while two rams were fighting with each other, causing the iron sheets of the garage to make banging noises from time to time.
In the corner near the front of the car, there is a basket of ducklings, and the chirping of the ducklings is so noisy that it gives people a headache.
At the back of the car compartment sat two dirty "miners". Neither of them said a word, but they held their breath and tried their best to prevent the stench of animal feces in the car from attacking their keen sense of smell. However, under the scorching sun, it was obviously futile.
Half an hour ago, the two men who had finally found the road sat on the roadside and tried their luck at getting a ride, but they saw a police search helicopter hovering overhead, so they had no choice but to hide in a cave beside the road.
After the helicopter flew away, they met two people on motorbikes. No matter how nice they tried to please them, the two men insisted on extorting money. Even though they promised to send someone to pay them if they took them away, they refused and even spoke rudely to them.
The man with a bandit mentality got into trouble, kicked the motorcycle down, beat up the two men, stripped them of their clothes and put them on, tied his military uniform behind his back into a bundle, wrapped up his guns and weapons, put them on his shoulder, and rode away arrogantly on the motorcycle.
Unexpectedly, the motorcycle ran out of gas halfway through the journey, so the two men abandoned the motorcycle and walked. They met a farm delivery truck, and the owner agreed to give them a ride, but they could only make do with the animals behind.
"Fuchai, get the hell away from me, your feet are covered in sheep dung." Baru couldn't stand it any longer and kicked the men around him out.
"No, brother, how are you any better than me? You stepped in duck shit as soon as you came here. Did I say anything? It stinks here because you stepped on the shit with your feet and the stench was baked out."
"Bullshit. It was clearly you who kicked the sheep dung next to me." Baru was restless. His forehead was covered in sweat from the scorching sun, and the sweat flowed down his neck. He looked like a roasted crab, red and with eyes wide open, as if he was going to explode in the next second.
Fu Cai closed his eyes and took a deep breath for two seconds. "Brother, let's make do with it. We've both been marinated in it. Don't be disgusted by anyone."
"Bullshit, I smell better than you, you big rough guy, you only need one soap to wash your whole body, but I can use the shower gel bought by my wife now, how can you compare with me?" Baru glared at the bachelor subordinate beside him with disdain.
"You're showing off like this?" Fu Cai almost cursed. "Is it possible that Sister Xi didn't like your smell and was afraid it would bother her, so she gave you that thing? After all, we're sleeping in the same bed, so shouldn't we treat ourselves better?"
The man next to him thought seriously for a moment, then said firmly, "Absolutely not. My wife can't sleep without smelling my scent. You know shit. This is called a sense of security. My wife said so."
Fu Chai's mouth twitched and he was speechless.
The car crossed the Gobi Desert Highway, from the scorching sun to the sunset clouds.
The car owner was kind-hearted. Since the two men had no money on them, Balu gave him a Swiss Army knife that he bought on the black market as a thank you.
Stinky and dirty, the two were walking on the road on the outskirts of the city and were mistaken for homeless people.
It was quite urgent when they were parachuting, and they didn't know where the communication equipment fell in a hurry. The two men were penniless and hungry at this time.
"Brother, what should we do? People think we are homeless and they take a detour ten meters away. We can't even borrow a phone and the shops won't let us in. Damn, this is capitalism that looks down on people." Fu Chai complained as he walked.
The two were now on the edge of the city, and it would take at least two hours to get to the city center.
Balu squatted on the curb, feeling restless and irritable. He reached out to touch a cigarette, but couldn't find it. He cursed in frustration.
"Let's go to the front and take a look. Can a living person be suffocated to death by urine?"
The rough man walked towards the crowded area ahead. When he passed the beer square, he passed by a big truck full of beer parked on the side of the road. A fat man was talking on the phone on the side of the road.
The general meaning is that the other party suddenly reneged on the agreed wages, and the loading and unloading workers left because they thought it was too low. He was unable to unload the truck himself, so he applied to his superiors to take the goods back.
The man who had already walked over thought for a moment, turned back, patted the fat man on the shoulder, and negotiated with the man in English with a strong Southeast Asian accent. In the end, he accepted the job as a laborer for a low price of fifty US dollars per person to unload a truck of goods.
After unloading a full truck of beer, the moon was already high in the sky. The two men took their wages and a box of beer given by the fat man, sat on the side of the road, drinking and resting.
"Damn it, I'm so tired. I've never been paid such a low salary." Fu Chai complained while taking a big gulp of beer. Then he looked at Baru who was also sweating profusely beside him.
"Brother Lu, this person is still afraid of comparison. I just realized how good Sister Xi is. I just run errands, and she gives me thousands of dollars every month, gives me benefits, and takes me out for delicious food. From now on, just let me hang out with Sister Xi."
Baru glared at him and said, "Get lost! My wife's money came from the wind? You're so greedy!"
The man drank the beer and wiped his mouth. "Let's go, call a taxi back."
…
The next morning, just after dawn, the door of Balu's bedroom was suddenly smashed open.
"Are you fucking sick? I've been lying down for less than three hours." A sleepy-looking man stood at the door and roared at his good brother.
"What are you yelling about?" Zhan Peng glared at him, walked inside, and sat on the sofa.
"I went out to make milk for the baby this morning and then I heard Biaozi say that you came back in the middle of the night. Why didn't you call me?"
"Are you able to eat and drink?" Baru lazily slumped down on the sofa and spoke in a deep voice, "Didn't I tell you to take your wife and children and leave? Why are you still here?"
"You're fucking missing, and I ran away? What do you think of me? Will I still be able to stay in the army in the future?" Zhan Peng rolled his eyes at him, then stretched out his long legs and kicked him.
"You're really good, kid. With so many police surrounding you, you managed to escape."
The man lying on the sofa snorted coldly, "I'm almost pickled in sheep and duck manure, and I even had to work as a coolie to unload a truckload of goods before coming back. Bullshit, I've never been so cowardly in my life."
He then opened his eyes, glaring at his good brother with his dark pupils. "I'm telling you, Zhan Peng, I've spent a lot of money and suffered a lot on this trip. If you don't compensate me with your building when I get back, there's no turning back."
"Why the hell don't you just go and rob?" Zhan Peng's temples were throbbing, and he almost couldn't breathe.
"I thought you had some conscience, but you're here to take advantage of my misfortune? You've been eyeing my building for a long time, just waiting for the chance to rip me off, right?"
Baru smiled wickedly, "You can't say that. I worked hard, so shouldn't you give me some hard work pay?"
"That's fucking hard work pay? That's taking flesh from me. Anyway, they're looking for you. To be more specific, I was implicated by you. I'm lucky they didn't come after you."
Hearing this, Baru sat up suddenly and asked, "You want to shirk your debt?"
"What are you refusing to pay? Did I sign a contract with you?" Zhan Peng rolled his eyes at him, willing to sacrifice his life over his wealth. He stood up and said, "My daughter is waiting for me. Go to sleep."
"Zhan Peng. I'm going to beat you to death, just wait."
