An hour after Biaozi left, the sky was gradually turning white.
The three people on the sofa had no image at all, lying down with their legs spread out to rest. Balu, in particular, had the longest legs, with most of one leg resting on the back of the chair, looking very unruly.
The cell phone in Zhan Peng's pocket vibrated. He suddenly opened his eyes and sat up, took out the phone from his pocket, checked it and found it was not there, so he put it back, took it out from another pocket, and saw that it didn't ring either.
"Damn, why do you have so many cell phones? If someone doesn't know you, they would think you're a spy from somewhere." Baru turned over in annoyance and continued to sleep.
"You know shit—" Zhan Peng rolled his eyes at his good brother and finally pulled out his cell phone from under his bulletproof vest.
"Baby?"
"Yeah! I'll be back soon after I'm done, dear."
"Okay. I'll bring it back to you. Um... Don't be afraid. Sleep a little longer. I'll come back and take you on a yacht fishing trip. Um... Okay!"
His voice became gentler when he answered the phone, and a smile appeared unconsciously on the corner of his mouth. Na Tu, who thought he had seen a ghost, got goosebumps all over his body.
After hanging up the phone, Zhan Peng put the phone back.
"Are you possessed?" Na Tu was puzzled. Is this still the playboy who hung out in the red light district for three days and three nights and was drunk?
"Get lost!" Zhan Peng raised his eyebrows complacently. Just as he was about to continue sleeping, the cell phone in his trouser pocket rang again.
"Hey! Commander Daotuo, why did you think of calling me?" Zhan Peng had a smug look on his face.
"What? There's actually such a thing?"
"Oh, Commander, you know I'm just a soldier. I can obey orders, but you asked me to rescue the eldest son. I have this intention, but the subordinates don't listen to me. My title is not legitimate, right?"
“I dare not…I dare not…”
“Okay, okay!”
"Yes! From now on, Zhan Peng will follow your lead. Don't worry, I will definitely fulfill my mission and bring the eldest young master back safely! Yes... Don't worry..."
"But... Commander, if you want the horse to run, you have to feed it. You know, the Golden Triangle is a remote and poor place, and the living conditions are tough—"
"Okay, okay! Commander, don't worry. As long as the letter of authorization is in place and the money and weapons are in place, I will act immediately. Even if I have to become a hostage to the criminals, I will do it in exchange for the eldest son."
After hanging up the phone, Balu and Natu, who had been trying to hold back their laughter, finally couldn't help it. They looked at each other and worked together to stack up and push Zhanpeng to the bottom.
"Damn it, kid, you are such a fucking profiteer. You treat official hats as business and even weigh them by weight." Balu pressed Zhan Peng's head hard.
"Along, wasn't this all your fucking idea? If it weren't for your ambition, I wouldn't be a proper young master, but would run to this godforsaken place to suffer? You've been full of evil ideas since we were little, and you've always given me and Na Tu the bad ideas. In the end, it was Na Tu and I who suffered the consequences, and you got the advantage. Damn it, get out of the way, my kidneys—"
Natu came down first, sat aside, and kicked Zhanpeng.
"You're talking without thinking, you idiot? If it wasn't for Aaron's idea to let you join the army and have a gun to protect your life, you would have been killed eight hundred times by those bastards and your damn father. You have no conscience."
Balu turned over and suddenly remembered something. He pressed Zhanpeng's chin with his elbow to control him.
"You want to take your girl out fishing?"
"What's wrong?" Zhan Peng saw through it but didn't say anything.
"Come over at two in the afternoon. I'll take my wife with me. She's in a bad mood, so I'll take her out for a walk."
"Okay!" Zhan Peng pushed the person in front of him away and took the cigarette into his mouth. "Na Tu, bring your wife out to play?"
Na Tu shook his head, "My wife doesn't like me fooling around with you guys, so I'd better go home and cook."
"Bad! Really fucking bad!" Balu and Zhanpeng laughed in unison.
*******
When Balu returned to the small bamboo house, Nanxi had already gotten up and was sitting by the railing basking in the sun.
Her hair was very long. She didn't blow dry it after taking a shower, so it was just half wet and draped over her head. She sat on a beer box, quietly looking at the lush green mountains, the blue sky, and the fluffy white clouds in the distance.
The girl leaned against the railing and looked into the distance. The breeze blew her long hair, revealing her beautiful and delicate profile.
Baru didn't get out of the car, but just looked at her from afar through the car window.
Her beauty, her loneliness, her brokenness were all deeply engraved in his heart, year after year, and could never be erased.
"You're back?" Nanxi on the second floor waved to the people in the car at the door through the low door. "I'm starving."
Balu felt an itch in his heart, an indescribable strangeness.
This was the first time in all these days that she took the initiative to talk to me, and also the first time she smiled so relaxedly. Was it an illusion? Why did her words sound so coquettish?
"Something delayed me. I brought breakfast. You can eat it first. I'll boil some water." The flattered boy spoke with a little discomfort. He got out of the car quickly, holding the bag in his hand, and went up the stairs two or three steps at a time.
Taking the breakfast from his hand, Nanxi peeled off the green leaves that looked like rice dumpling skins, dipped them in osmanthus honey from another bag, and started eating.
She didn't like eating such sweet things, and she couldn't eat it after eating half of it. Baru came upstairs with a cup of hot water, and saw that she still hadn't finished eating, and frowned.
"Xixi, eat more. You've eaten too little."
"I don't want to eat anymore." Nanxi shook her head. "Baru, I'm almost going moldy staying here. It's not a good idea to keep me locked up like this forever, is it? Even pets and prisoners need to be taken out for a walk sometimes. If you keep going on like this, my spirit will collapse before my body does. I might even get depression or something like that."
