After hanging up the phone, Baru's face turned sour. "You said you hadn't noticed that bastard Li Hang, and you even asked him in such detail whether he had a boyfriend or not?"
"Didn't you ask me that? Dailong, are you looking for trouble?" Nanxi glared at him, "Do you want to continue?"
"What?" the man asked with a sullen face.
Nanxi got out of his arms angrily, not letting him hug her or touch her hand.
The man shamelessly held her in his arms again, secretly exerting force to prevent her from moving. The little woman twisted a few times, but failed to break free, so she stopped and rolled her eyes at him before continuing,
"Based on what Aunt Ying said just now, and my speculation, Li Hang came to northern Myanmar a few years ago. Moreover, the death of our former servant, Dandan, must have been related to him.
But according to Lulu, it's not like he harmed Dandan. Instead, he seems to have some grudge against her. Otherwise, he wouldn't help a stranger just because of a similar burn scar. There are no Bodhisattvas in northern Myanmar. His identity is definitely not simple."
Baru would rub her hair with his chin from time to time.
"Well, those who can make it in northern Myanmar are not simple people. I'll ask Biaozi to investigate. It will be easy to find out if we know their appearance."
Nanxi nodded, then pushed his arm, indicating that she wanted to lie down on the bed.
"Why don't I just leave the country directly from this port in a few days? It's closer. Aunt Ying has taken care of me since I was a child. I feel at ease with her around. Otherwise, I wouldn't even know what to prepare.
What Yana prepared for me might not be enough. In China, there are many things to pay attention to when giving birth. We have to burn incense and paper for our ancestors when the baby is born, and the time of the baby's birth has to be approved. When the baby is discharged from the hospital, my great uncle has to hold the baby in his arms and carry him through the main gate. Oh, yes, the baby's name also has to be given by my great uncle, and we have to open an ancestral hall and have the name written into the family tree.
Didn’t my great uncle tell me when we got married that even though you weren’t marrying into the family and the child would be naturalized as Burmese, he still had to have a Chinese name and be included in the family tree?
"I don't care about any of this, baby. It doesn't matter whether the child is a Burmese or Chinese citizen, or what his surname is. As long as he's my child, it's fine. But I don't want you to go back alone. I want to be with you."
Balu took his wife into his arms, his big hand naturally placed on her lower back to support her, and with the other hand pressed her head into his chest.
"I'm almost done with this. Once we catch this group of people and kill Su Junchi, the real threat, Zhan Peng will be able to handle the situation, and then we can go back to China, okay? Anyway, you still have three months before your due date, so I'll finish this here within a month, okay?"
Nanxi thought about it, then rubbed against his arms again, "Okay, it would be best if you could accompany me."
Pregnant women are sleepy, and Nanxi fell asleep soon. Balu put his sleeping wife to bed, tiptoed out of the house, and called Biaozi to ask him to find Li Hang's whereabouts.
…
On the other side of Daqili is an ordinary two-story house.
The elegant and handsome man standing in front of the window gazing at the endless night had a very tense face. The cigarette in his hand was about to burn out, but he didn't put it in his mouth for a long time.
Behind him, his trusted subordinates stood silently.
"You mean, the sudden curfew on the streets these past two days was an order from the government army?" After several minutes, Cha Mu turned around and looked at his men standing not far away.
"Yes, sir. Not only the government troops, but also the allied forces and the Union Defense Forces have suddenly become tense these past few days. Patrols are everywhere and law and order is being maintained."
"Have our people found anything unusual in the past two days?" Cha Mu asked again.
"Aside from the martial law, I haven't noticed anything else. However, someone down there reported that several vehicles carrying goods for centralized procurement appeared today. They were all buying high-end ingredients, beer, and the like. It's obvious they aren't ordinary people. Even a wealthy industrial park wouldn't spend money on so many high-end ingredients."
After hearing this, Cha Mu's fingers unconsciously twirled around the lighter in his hand. "High-end ingredients? Centralized procurement? Do you know where those trucks are taking the stuff?"
"The car entered the town in the north and never came out again. Our people wouldn't let it in."
"Not allowed in?"
"Yes, that town has been very strict these days. Not only can you not enter without ID, but even if you don't have complete ID, you can't enter. Especially since you need that temporary pass they issue."
Cha Mu said nothing more and waved his hand to let people go out.
…
In a terraced bamboo house deep in the forest in the heart of the valley, Su Junchi sat on a rattan chair and looked at a yellowed chemistry notebook.
Over the years, it seemed to have become a habit. Even though he knew every chemical reaction by heart, whenever he couldn't sleep, he would take out this notebook and flip through it to feel at ease.
Even when escaping, he could throw away the gold, goods, and other things, but he had to take this notebook with him no matter what.
Boom boom boom…
There was a knock on the door.
Su Junchi closed the notebook and placed it on the bedside. Then he said calmly, "Come in."
"Dad, the guard outside said that a man named Li Hang wants to see you. He has the token you gave him. I asked someone to stop him and take him to the patrol team." Xue Peng pushed open the door and said while standing at the door.
"Li Hang?" Su Junchi raised his eyebrows. "Let him in."
Xue Peng nodded and then closed the door.
Not long after, there was another knock on the door.
"Come in." Su Junchi put down the teacup in his hand and looked up at the door.
"Master Buddha." Li Hang stood at the door and greeted respectfully.
"Well, why are you here?"
"Someone was checking on me. I smelled something wrong, so I ran out at night and wanted to hide here with you for now." The young man opposite answered truthfully.
