"Along, what was going on with the gunshot just now? Why didn't you tell me before you did it? My daughter was scared to death and almost fell off the bed." As soon as he closed the bedroom door, Zhan Peng asked with wide eyes.
"I didn't ask anyone to do it. Am I stupid? My wife is still here, and someone killed someone downstairs?" Baru glared back and then waved his hand.
"Okay, I'll have someone chase after them and check. Let's wait for news. My wife and children are here, we can't go far."
Zhan Peng nodded, and the two of them walked downstairs. Fu Chai and Pan Pu had already come in.
"Brother." They said in unison.
"Well, both of you don't go anywhere today. Just stay here and no one is allowed to come near you, no matter who it is." Baru instructed.
"Yes." The two knew it must be because of the gunshot just now, so they stopped talking, walked out of the living room, and stood in the small pavilion next to the gate.
Nanxi had finished washing up and her emotions had calmed down. She and Yana took Danmin downstairs.
"Wife, I asked the servant to bring breakfast. You can go and eat first." Baru instructed.
Zhan Peng stood up on his own initiative and took Danmin to the dining table. He fed Danmin the baby meal and let his wife eat first.
Nanxi shook her head and said, "I don't want to eat. Pour me a glass of water." After she said that, she lazily nestled on the sofa next to Balu.
Baru stood up and poured her a glass of warm water. "What's wrong, baby? Were you scared just now?"
The little woman tugged at his arm. "A-Lu, I remember you said this is under the control of your soldiers. Logically, no one would deliberately cause trouble. Why did someone suddenly open fire downstairs? They obviously knew you were here. Could they be coming for you?"
"The inspection outside is so strict, but they commit crimes in defiance of the law, but they don't want to fight, and just run away after the fight. What is their purpose? It's very strange."
Baru rubbed her head and said, "It's okay, don't think too much. No matter what his reason is, he dared to provoke me under my building. These grandsons are the end of their lives."
The phone on the coffee table rang at this moment. Baru turned on the Bluetooth headset.
"Brother." It was Boha's voice over there.
"What's going on?"
"Brother, it was Gong Meng who came to our door with a group of militiamen from the town. Damn it, he is so bold. Brother, don't worry, I will kill him today." Boha was so angry that his teeth were itching.
"Where did you chase them to?" Balu's voice was cold and cautious.
"In the mountains outside of town, damn, these bastards run so damn fast."
The man's face changed unpredictably. After thinking for a few seconds, he said, "Boha, you and Biaozi split up. Don't chase us together. If you catch up with us, just plant bombs on us. Blast them first and then shoot. Don't even think about taking them alive. I don't want anybody alive.
Also, this is probably a trick to lure the enemy out. They must have an ambush waiting to eat you. Break their teeth for me. Don't worry, as long as you lure them out, I'll come and pick you up personally."
"No need, brother. I told you to come here in person to give them face. Just wait, I will definitely kill Gong Meng."
"Well, be careful. I've sent someone to guard the hospital, so don't worry."
There was a one-second pause on the other end of the phone, and then a few muffled words came out, "Well, thank you, brother."
After hanging up the phone, Baru played with Nanxi's fingers.
"Wife, you're right. Not to mention the local militia, even the best local armed forces in northern Myanmar don't dare to provoke me easily. This guy called Gong Meng dares to provoke me so blatantly. He must have someone backing him up. I want to see who is so bold as to pluck the hairs from the tiger's head."
"Alu, the person who comes has bad intentions, you must be careful." Nanxi was still very worried.
For some reason, Balu suddenly thought of the mercenaries hiding in the ditch that Boha mentioned in the morning. Could it be that the two are related?
…
Deep in Prajna Valley, there is an open-air water dungeon at the back of the terraced bamboo houses.
The water dungeon was three meters square and covered with several thick wooden rafters. It emitted a disgusting stench under the direct sunlight.
The damp and rotten air of the primeval forest lingered in my nose, and from time to time people came over to urinate in the stagnant pool.
The man's hands were tied and hung above his head, and his body below the chest was soaked in stinky water. There was not a single piece of good flesh on the exposed skin. The wounds from being whipped had begun to turn white and swelled up with pustules because they were soaked in dirty water. One could even vaguely see wriggling insects gnawing on them.
The man's face was swollen, and his facial features had been squeezed so tightly that they could no longer be seen. There were bruises everywhere, and even the original color of his skin was difficult to distinguish.
"Sir, I can't understand why you want to keep this traitor. Kill him and be done with it. We are leaving soon. Keeping him here will only bring trouble." Ananda looked through the window at the water dungeon not far away, and looked at his master who was sitting on the chair sketching the Buddha statue in confusion.
Su Junchi did not speak until the last stroke was finished, then he picked up the wet towel beside him and wiped his hands.
"It's precisely because he's a traitor that I want to keep him. I need to know who has the ability to turn the people around me against me. You know, in order to keep Xue Peng, I offered all the conditions I could, but he still resolutely left.
But this time, not only did he come back, he also betrayed me. He knows better than anyone the consequences of betraying me. I'm curious who has the ability to convince him."
"Sir, he's been beaten like this, and he's still hanging on to his last breath, but he still refuses to open his mouth. I don't think his mouth can be pried open."
Su Junchi smiled and said, "Ananda, tell me, what are those great monks practicing for their entire lives?
