Nanxi looked at the little boy in front of her. He seemed to be very familiar with this place. She took out a piece of paper, folded a small boat and handed it to him.
"Haohao, this is for you."
"Thank you, godmother. You are so awesome, much better than my mother. All my mother does all day is take care of my father and me, or go shopping, get beauty treatments, and do her nails. She spends all the money my father earns."
Nanxi sneered and complained in her heart, it seemed that Han Yingna was still the same.
However, she didn't expect that a cold-blooded and heartless person like Ling Dao would be willing to be dealt with by Han Yingna.
Recovering from his thoughts, Nanxi asked again, "Haohao, can you tell me who is the most annoying person on this island?"
"The housekeeper is the most annoying. She always curses."
"Is that Onishan?"
"Yeah." Ling Yuhao nodded. "I've seen her several times. She can be very aggressive in scolding people. Once, she even got into a fight with the deputy housekeeper and left her face swollen. But my godfather values her, so none of the servants dare to mess with her."
Nanxi raised an eyebrow, "Deputy butler? Which deputy butler?"
"Godmother, don't you know? The chief steward of the island is Aonishan, and there are several deputy stewards. Sister Xiaoyu is the deputy steward who manages Yaoguang Castle. However, when Godfather was here, Aonishan didn't let Sister Xiaoyu come here. She managed it here by herself. Only after Godfather left was Sister Xiaoyu sent here."
What my father said is indeed true. Wherever there are people, there are rivers and lakes, and there are intrigues and deceptions.
Nanxi smiled imperceptibly in her black eyes. As long as there was a conflict, it would be easy to resolve.
It was already the time Cha Mu had set for Haohao to leave, but Nanxi kept taking out new things for him to play with, wasting time. She was waiting for someone.
Finally, when Haohao had fallen asleep on the bed, there was a knock on the bedroom door.
"Come in," Nanxi said lightly.
Damai pushed the door open and came in, lowering his head and said respectfully, "Miss, I'll take Haohao to rest."
"He's already asleep, let him sleep here with me." Nanxi said casually.
"I'd better take him out. The child is not well-behaved at night. You are not well-fitted, and I am afraid he will hurt you."
Nanxi smiled and got straight to the point.
"Okay, Damai, stop pretending here. Don't you have anything to explain to me?"
"What explanation do you want to hear, Miss?" Damai still lowered his head, but Nanxi clearly heard some anger in his submissive tone.
"Have I offended you in any way, Damai?"
"That's not the case, Miss. I'm just your follower. I don't deserve the word 'offense'."
"So it's confirmed?" Nanxi stared at Damai with her sharp eyes. "You should understand my temper. Today, if you tell me the truth, I can still consider it. But if you continue with this attitude, I promise that I would rather die with honor than live in disgrace."
"Miss, you've already forced the gentleman to death once. Are you going to force him to death a second time?"
Suddenly, Damai raised his head, and his usually respectful face was stained with obvious anger, his eyes were bloodshot, and his lips were trembling.
Nanxi's breathing hitched, and she tugged at the bed sheet, "What do you mean? What do you mean I forced him to death once?"
Damai suddenly laughed. "I was wrong, Miss. He died for you more than once. I don't know how many times he died. Miss, just consider this as a plea from me. Just stay here and let him go. He's a human, not a cat. He doesn't have nine lives to withstand such torture."
Nanxi's face was even more confused. "What the hell are you talking about?"
Damai wiped the tears from his face and sighed, "Miss, now that things have come to this, I might as well be frank with you."
"In fact, the master has long seen through your thoughts. When you were in high school, he deliberately let you get involved in the gray industry and made you an obedient knife. As long as you still have feelings for me, the handle of this knife will always be in the master's hand, and he will chop wherever he points.
However, the master has actually always looked down on you. He thinks that you have the blood of the desperate thugs in northern Myanmar flowing in your veins, and no matter how hard you try, you are not worthy of the eldest daughter of the Nan family. He has used you as bait countless times to lure you into willingly risking your life. He is still young and covered in wounds.
Later, the master found that the husband had grown up and was afraid that he could not control him and that he would force you to marry him, so he even caused a car explosion. The husband almost died that time and lay in bed for a whole year. The first thing he did when he woke up was to ask you if you had looked for him and if you were angry with him.
Even so, the gentleman forgave the master and was willing to be his pawn, just to marry you openly. But what about the master? He agreed to the gentleman's request, but then he regretted it.
You don't play with people like this, Miss. The gentleman was played around by you two, father and daughter, and in the end he even lost his life.
That time he said that if you leave, he will die, it was not an angry remark, it was true, he really took a knife and stabbed himself in the heart, if Ling Dao had not thrown a cup from a distance, the knife would have missed by an inch, he would have really died
"Miss, if the gentleman had died that time, I want to ask, would you regret it? Would you shed even a tear for him?"
Damai's voice trembled as he finished speaking. He wiped away his tears and looked towards Nanxi with red eyes.
"My dear, he may be a little paranoid, but he never meant to hurt you, did he?
He's been obsessed with you since he was little, and he's become a demon. Can't you just have some pity on him? What's wrong with him? Why do you look down on him so much?"
"It's not that I look down on him. On the contrary, I've been proud to have such a talented brother since I was a child. Really, Damai, you've seen how much I clung to him and relied on him when I was little.
