Chapter 39: Seeking the Best and Finding the Middle

For a whole week, Balu would rush back in the middle of the night to sleep with his young wife, and then go out early in the morning.

Nanxi had nothing to do in the small bamboo house, and Balu would not let her leave at will, so she had no choice but to ask Biaozi to buy painting supplies and stay in to paint.

The young lady of a top family has dabbled in music, chess, calligraphy and painting since childhood, but she inherited her mother's genes and is very talented in painting.

Her family never thought about what she should do, as long as she was happy. In the end, she entered Yuncheng Art College and studied oil painting. Her grades were not top-notch, but her fame as the school belle added a halo to her. She was the focus wherever she went, and people even asked her to perform at various school parties.

Later, her brother found out about it and contacted the school, even personally dealing with a few boys who had been pestering her. Only then could she study in peace at school. However, her peace didn't last long. She just took advantage of the holiday to come to Mandalay and encountered such a big change.

The lines in her hand became more and more vague, so Nanxi simply threw away the pen and went out for some fresh air.

There was a military vehicle parked at the door, and it looked familiar.

Zhan Peng opened the car door in a rogue manner, jumped out, then carried Yana out of the car, and the two walked in hand in hand.

"Aaron was worried that you would be bored staying alone, so he asked me to bring Yana over to play for two days."

He had some opinions about his good brother's disobedient and troublesome wife, especially when they got married, Aaron actually tied his life to this woman. He really thought this guy was crazy.

It's obvious that this woman won't be obedient. I really don't know what kind of magic potion she gave to Aaron to make him gamble his life.

Nanxi didn't like Zhan Peng very much either. He was a scoundrel and a slacker, and he didn't look like a good guy at first glance. She pouted and said a perfunctory thank you, then pulled Yala upstairs without even looking back.

Zhan Peng, holding a cigarette in his mouth, looked up at the closed door, sneered, and walked out of the yard.

"Biaozi, the lives of your boss and I are at stake in here, so keep a close eye on it." He walked out the door, patted Biaozi on the shoulder, looked back at the second floor, and got into the car.

While walking towards the front line where the shooting was going on, he called a team of guards over.

I always feel uneasy, and I feel at ease only when I am with my own people.

Ever since he took the top position in the Northern Myanmar Joint Defense Force, countless people have been watching him openly and secretly. Now the whole of Northern Myanmar is in chaos. The old man has been brooding over him because of the illegitimate child, and he may attack Yana. It happened that Aaron asked him to send the person over, so he didn't have to worry about it.

In several villages near the forest on the edge of the city, the sound of gunfire was heard continuously. Both sides were fighting fiercely, and the war had reached its most stalemate.

Balu sat in the military vehicle, his legs crossed on the steering wheel, his eyes closed listening to the gunshots outside, calm and composed.

Natu, who was sitting in the passenger seat, was playing a military game on his tablet.

Zhan Peng's car pulled up to the side, he opened the back door and got in. "Damn, it's quite a fight."

Without even looking up, Na Tu sneered, "Aaron, this kid is really bad to the core. This tactic of waiting for the enemy to tire out has killed most of Zaka's men. I guess he must be regretting it. Just wait, Zaka will call and ask for help in a few days."

"Hahaha..." Zhan Peng clapped his hands and laughed. "Zaka thought that Aaron would have to gnaw on the hardest bones and let his own people eat the meat. Who knew that they hid the hardest bones in the softest meat? This is what he deserved."

"By the way, Aaron, I heard Commander Wu got you a few Apaches? Let me fly them. I've never flown such an expensive fighter before."

"Get out! Don't even think about it. Do you fucking think you're driving an excavator? I can't bear to do it. If I break it, Brother Meng will call me a spendthrift." Baru changed his posture, still without opening his eyes.

"Damn it. You are the commander's favorite, and you get whatever you want. I've made several reports and asked for several third-generation aircraft, but you still don't give them to me." Zhan Peng touched the cigarette and put it in his mouth, complaining aggrievedly.

"If you can hold northern Burma, attack wherever you point your finger, and win every battle, Commander Wu will treat you like his own child." After finishing his round of Natu and turning off his tablet, Bandit chuckled and spoke. "Besides, why do you need a fighter jet? You can't even fly one."

"Can't I learn? A-long can drive, what am I missing? Why can't I drive?" Zhan Peng was not convinced and kicked the passenger seat angrily.

"Along is the genius prince of Country J who was taught by him since he was a child. What are you comparing with him? We are just field army and air force soldiers." He lit the cigarette butt and blew out smoke rings with his face up.

"Zhan Peng is right. You have to learn to fly fighter jets too. I'll be going to the Military Academy by the end of the year at the latest. You have to hold this place." The man, who had been resting with his eyes closed, suddenly sat up with a serious expression. "Zhan Peng, the situation is becoming increasingly complicated. You have to be extremely alert. The Bai family boss is very evil. Don't fall into his trap."

"knew."

At this point, Na Tu suddenly remembered something, "Oh, Aaron, the mercenary you asked me to check out a few days ago disappeared inexplicably."

Baru frowned, "Disappear?"

"Hmm! I can't even find a hair. It's fucking weird."

"Maybe he's not even human." The man with deep black eyes in the driver's seat said something ambiguous.

The three of them stayed in the car until around three in the afternoon, when, as expected, Xhaka called.

"Alu, where are you now?"

"Hill No. 3, we just broke out. What's the matter, Commander?" The unruly man raised his eyebrows, looked at his good brother, and said it without blushing or beating his heart.

"Akun and the others are surrounded in the Yedana village. You should go and help them." Zaka's voice on the other end became obviously anxious.
