The clear night sky of Southeast Asia was filled with bright stars and a moon, casting a hazy curtain of light. The man looked at two figures, one large and one small, not far away. They were wearing modified small ghillie suits, with sparse strips of cloth swaying in the wind, and one of them had a grass ring on his head.
Wu Jie, who was in front, was carrying a gun with a cloth wrapped around his shoulder. He was talking to Ba Chuang, who was carrying a small backpack behind him, as he walked.
"Brother Long, see this, this is the basic equipment for a sniper, isn't it cool?"
"Cool, Brother Jie, I want this gun too." Ba Chuang jogged after him, holding something in his hand, looking quite exhausted.
"You're still young and your wrists are weak, so you can't play with this. Wait, I'll go to Uncle Biao's place and steal a Beretta for you to play with. When you grow up, I'll teach you how to use a sniper rifle. My younger brother and Zhan Zhan don't like playing with guns, so I'll teach you all these skills. Your current mission is to be my guard, do you understand?
You must first learn to be a good soldier before you can learn to be a good commander. Don't worry, just follow me from now on and I will teach you slowly."
"Yeah. Okay, Brother Jie." Ba Chuang followed Wu Jie and swallowed hard, "But Brother Jie, we've been lying in the woods all afternoon and haven't had a single bite to eat. I'm so hungry."
"I'll catch you a mouse to eat later." Wu Jie said lightly.
"Brother Jie. The kitchen is over there. Let's go in and get something else to eat. I don't want to eat rats." Ba Chuang's voice sounded a little resistant.
"Eat shit! Have you forgotten what I told you? We're in the jungle now, where's the kitchen? If you don't learn to eat rats now, you'll starve to death on the battlefield. You can't even endure this little hardship, and you still want to be a commander?
My father once said that he and Uncle Long fought in the rainforests of northern Myanmar. They ate snakes, rats, insects, and ants. How can we be compared to them?
Wu Jie's voice became a little higher.
"But Brother Jie, Mom said I'm still a baby and need to get enough nutrition every day, otherwise I won't grow tall. I haven't had milk for three days and I'm a little craving for it."
No matter how naughty he is, he is only three years old after all. Ba Chuang still doesn't understand why his eldest brother is looking for trouble with him.
"Drinking shitty milk, quit it from now on, what kind of man drinks milk?" Wu Jie slapped him on the head.
"Look at your father, my Uncle Long. What good food did he have as a child? He still grew up tall and strong. Uncle Zhan was even a young master for a few years. His family conditions were ordinary when he was a child, not to mention after he joined the army. But there's nothing wrong with him. You are just a sissy raised by your uncle. I must change your bad habits."
Wu Jie said as he climbed up a tree not far away, "Brother Long, follow me. Let's climb over the wall and get out."
"Why not go through the main gate?" Ba Chuang was even more confused.
"We're assassins now. Have you ever seen an assassin go through the main entrance?" he said impatiently. "Come on, come up here, or I'll throw you over."
Ba Chuang sniffed, tied the things in his hands around his waist, and began to climb a tree that was so big that he couldn't even reach it with his arms outstretched.
"Brother Jie, this tree is too thick, I can't climb up." Ba Chuang whispered.
"You're useless. Wait, I'll take off my pants, and you hold onto the trouser legs and I'll pull you up."
After a while, there was a rustling sound in the tree.
Wu Jie struggled to pull Ba Chuang up and said, "Don't be afraid, brother Long. There's grass outside the wall, so you won't fall."
After he finished speaking, he threw Ba Chuang out of the wall like a sack, but there was no sound for a long time.
"Brother Long...Brother Long...are you hanging on the tree?" Wu Jie asked in a low voice.
There was still no answer.
There was no other way, Wu Jie put the gun on his back, turned over and jumped down. When he was about to land, he felt a pain on his butt and was kicked half a meter away.
Just as he was about to curse, a dark shadow fell beside him. He looked up and met Uncle Long's cold eyes. In his arms, he was still holding Ba Chuang who was "hanging" on the tree.
"I asked you to take my son, and this is how you take care of him? You threw him over the wall. Are you crazy?"
"There's grass on the ground, so I won't fall." Wu Jie touched his butt and stood up, hissing.
"Uncle Long, you're really ruthless."
"Wu Jie, get the hell out of here, go back to Naypyidaw. My son won't follow you anymore. Damn it, I only have this one son. Don't torture me to death."
As he spoke, he carried the little dragon cub towards the kitchen of the main building.
"No, Uncle Long, wasn't that how you raised me when I was little? Why can't you do that to your son? No one plays with Zhan and Xiao. I finally got my brother Long back. You can't be so cruel."
Wu Jie followed the two into the kitchen.
When the lights in the room were turned on, Balu could see the two men's "appearances" clearly. Their faces were covered with black mud, and their feet, hands, and ghillie suits were also covered with mud, and there was a faint stench.
The handsome man frowned, "Where have you two been? You've been gone for two days and you're in such a mess?"
"Dad, Brother Jie took me to training. He said that this is what a sniper should be like. He has to endure hardships." Ba Chuang proudly brushed away the leaves above his head, revealing two lacquer-like eyes.
Baru suppressed a smile and looked at Wu Jie standing opposite him, "Who the hell farted like that?"
Wu Jie replied awkwardly, "My brother, the sniper in the army, said so."
Baru didn't say anything. He picked up a mangosteen on the table and threw it into the air. In an instant, a white cold light flashed, and the knife at his waist had pierced through the mangosteen and stuck into the opposite wall, and the juice splashed.
Ba Chuang and Wu Jie looked over at the same time, both of them were so shocked that they didn't say anything for a long time.
