On the third day, Song Cai could no longer stay in the villa, not only because he was bored, but also because of the woman that A Long had given him.
I don't know why, but every time that woman came into my room to clean, especially when she took my clothes, a strange, creepy feeling would inexplicably rise in my heart.
Over the years, no woman had ever walked into his bedroom, taken away his clothes, including his underwear, vests, socks, etc., washed them, and then ironed them neatly the next day. I don't know what she used to make them smell good, and then put them away neatly.
What made him even more annoyed was that every time he wanted to speak up to stop her, the words got stuck in his throat and he couldn't say them. He just watched her do all this.
He thought he must be crazy. What was so different about that thin, timid woman whose face he couldn't even see? Aren't they all women?
Any woman picked out of the red-light district is more beautiful and lively than her and is more pleasing to the eye.
Although I don't sleep with prostitutes, I still enjoy spending some money to get them to say nice things to me.
In the end, the man came to the conclusion that he must have been too busy fighting for the past six months and was feeling pent up. As a man, it is normal to have some thoughts in his mind sometimes.
After dinner that day, Song Cai went upstairs to change his clothes and drove out.
Afterwards, he didn't come back for several days.
Liang Lu still does the repetitive work in the villa every day, but since the man is not there, she can be relatively relaxed.
She was the only servant from outside the area. Although most people here could speak a few words of English and understand simple Chinese, and had no problem communicating in daily life, no one talked to her except to assign her tasks.
Apart from instructing the housekeeper on some matters concerning the superiors, the rest were left to the servants. The servants bullied her because she was a foreigner and asked her to do all the work as long as the housekeeper was not around.
She was busy until after midnight every day and had to get up at five in the morning to prepare breakfast, no matter whether the man ate it or not.
The chef in the kitchen received tips every day, but never shared any of them with her. Instead, he ordered her to do this and that.
During the days that Song Cai was away, at least she didn't have to prepare three meals a day, so she could have some time for herself and go out for a walk.
Although she didn't know who saved her, after going through that hell on earth, she now trusted no one except herself.
You have to find a way to make some money for emergencies.
But now, how can I make money if I stay here?
The first weekend after arriving here was the day off for the villa servants, so Liang Lu could go out to buy some personal items, but she had no money, so she could only take the housekeeper's car to go for a ride on the street.
The villa was halfway up the mountain. There was a small town at the foot of the mountain that was developed for tourism and there were many tourists. When the housekeeper went to the mall, she just walked around outside the mall, but didn't dare to go far for fear of being kidnapped again.
There is a large temple not far away, which is said to be very effective. Liang Lu followed a few tourists there to take a look.
When we got to the temple, there were a few small vendors selling souvenirs, but they were all crudely made, but their business was pretty good.
There was only one little boy's stall and no one around.
Liang Lu observed for a while and then walked over.
The little boy's commemorative album was nothing special, the kind that could be seen everywhere. Liang Lu discussed with him that she would help him sell the commemorative albums. After deducting his cost for each album sold, they would split the profits equally.
The two hit it off immediately. Liang Lu borrowed some money from the child, bought some paint, sat on the ground, took out the commemorative book, and sketched a few times on it. A simple sketch of the outline of a temple appeared on the paper.
On some of them, she drew the outline of the temple, on some she drew Buddha statues, and on some she drew the corresponding guardian Buddhas according to the zodiac signs.
Afterwards, she took the little boy with her and shouted loudly, switching seamlessly between English and Chinese. A wave of Chinese tourists came over, and she took the child over and talked endlessly about the guardian zodiac animals of the Buddha statue and the significance of wearing a Buddha statue. Soon, all the souvenir books were bought up by the tourists.
When dividing the money, the Thai child still couldn't believe it. He held her hand and begged her to come again next time and take him to make money.
Liang Lu looked at the money in her hand and pinched the child's face. "I have already taught you how to make money. Whether you can learn it depends on your own ability. No one will take care of you forever. Today we are partners, tomorrow we will be rivals. I will not give in to you just because you are young. After all, I also need money, little brother. I can only survive by relying on myself."
The money she got was actually not much, so she begged the housekeeper to take her to Chinatown to buy the cheapest Shoushan stone and carving tools. It was only enough to buy herself two pairs of underwear and a pair of socks.
But if she can make the first one, she can make the second one.
After returning to the villa, she thought it would still be as relaxing as the previous few days and she could squeeze out some time to do her own things, but that night, Song Cai came back.
And his face was not very good. At twelve o'clock in the middle of the night, she was still carving something carefully at the table. Suddenly, the door was opened. The man was murderous and his eyes were dark. When he saw her, he closed the door and sat on the bed.
"I'm injured. There's a spy in the villa. Don't make any noise. Go find a doctor."
Liang Lu's hand holding the carving knife trembled, and her finger was immediately cut. She didn't bother to bandage it. She put her finger in her mouth, sucked it, got up and ran out.
A few minutes later, the doctor opened the door and walked in. "Guess what happened?"
