Chapter 66 He is a Genius Soldier

At a certain top-secret training base in Russia, with a combat radius of 1,200 kilometers, the Su-57, a fifth-generation fighter jet currently in service and a perfect interpretation of the aesthetics of violence, swooped down from the sky, perfectly completing its supersonic cruise mission, and returned to the sky above the base. From a distance, it looked like a soaring god of war.

"Colonel, I didn't expect this Burmese boy named Baru to have such extraordinary talent. I would say he's a gifted soldier. There's a saying in China that goes, 'Talent is chosen regardless of background.' If we can keep him in Alpha, he'll definitely become an excellent professional soldier."

Lieutenant Colonel Andre pushed up his sunglasses and gave advice to his immediate superior.

"Talent? Andrei, a professional soldier doesn't rely on talent, but strength." Colonel Ivan said with a faint smile, "I've been in the army for twenty years and have seen too many soldiers die on the battlefield. Those who survived didn't rely on damn talent.

There are so many aspiring soldiers in the Slavic world; we don't need a so-called genius soldier from Southeast Asia."

Andre's face was unhappy, but he wanted to keep this young man so badly that he suppressed his emotions and raised an eyebrow, saying, "He is the most outstanding student to graduate from the international class of the Chinese Army Academy. He has first-class military qualities, and his individual combat capabilities far surpass those of ordinary special forces soldiers. His talent in piloting fighter jets is even more extraordinary. Colonel, Alpha needs to replenish young blood like this."

"Every member of the Alpha team is capable of independently piloting a fighter jet for long-range cruises and engaging the enemy on their own if necessary. This is standard practice. Andrei, you and Jin are friends, but the Alpha is a national weapon. It's not the place for you to ask for favors. Jin has connections with the Kremlin, so agreeing to let him send someone here for training is already the limit I can reach."

"But Colonel, before this, Baru only had experience flying third-generation aircraft. Yet, he was able to familiarize himself with and fly the most advanced fifth-generation aircraft in just three days. Moreover, he had little theoretical knowledge and relied entirely on intuition. If someone like him can't be called a genius, then I really don't know what a genius is."

"Genius?" Ivan sneered. "Your definition of genius is too hasty, Andre. No wonder you can only stay here."

Lieutenant Colonel Andre's light blue eyes darkened, and he turned on the co-channel radio.

"01:35, after circling the lighthouse three times above the training base, perform a zero-radius descending turn super maneuver. Drive freely within the maximum controllable speed."

"Andrei, are you crazy?" Colonel Ivan's face was filled with disbelief. "He's a novice with no professional theoretical foundation and little practical experience. You want him to operate a falling leaf? The slightest mistake will result in a stall and tail hang, and the plane will be destroyed and everyone on board will die. Do you want to be court-martialed?"

Lieutenant Colonel Andre remained motionless, raising an eyebrow. "One more thing, Colonel, he first saw the falling leaves movement last night when we were watching the fighter jet test flight video. He even learned the scientific name of the maneuver only last night."

Ivan felt his eyes were empty and his back was covered in sweat. "Retract your order, Andrei, or I will complain to my superiors."

"It's too late, sir. He's already flown over here."

Baru's voice came over the co-channel radio, "Lieutenant Colonel, Alpha Team member 0135 is currently circling the lighthouse above Training Ground No. 1. Confirming again, are you ready to perform a zero-radius descending turn maneuver?"

Andre's eyes were filled with excitement. He turned up the volume of his headphones to the maximum and said in a deep voice,

"0135, to ensure the smooth completion of the operation, please verbally state the operating instructions."

"Yes! Pull the nose up, adjust the vector to the minimum, pull the nose in the opposite direction, open the vector, and operate within the limit." There was no emotion in Baru's voice, as if this was an action he had practiced thousands of times.

"Got it, start!" Andre's eyes changed from excitement to determination. Jin was right. He was a rare talented soldier.

The confused officers behind them watched the fighter jets flying back and forth not far away and circling overhead, not knowing what was going on.

Suddenly, the radar roared and soared into the sky, and then fell like a leaf without weight.

"No--"

"God--"

Everyone screamed as if they had seen a ghost.

Did they witness an aviation disaster?

However, after the fighter plane fell to the critical limit, it quickly circled sideways and soared into the sky. Then, it fell again and performed a pendulum maneuver.

Everyone standing off the field was shocked. You know, this is not an air force training base. Although the Alpha members are all-round soldiers, there are very few who can perform difficult operations such as falling leaves and pendulum maneuvers. After all, their beliefs have always been simple and direct, and just being able to fight is enough.

When Baru got off the fighter plane and walked over holding his helmet, all the team members raised their hands above their heads and cheered. They didn't like this overly young Burmese boy at the beginning, but later they fought side by side with him. They witnessed his bravery, fearlessness, iron-blooded tenacity, and everyone had completely accepted him as a member of Alpha.

"Report to the commander, 0135 has successfully completed the supersonic cruise mission and is applying to return to the team." Baru stood at attention and saluted, his posture upright, like a sword drawn from its sheath.

Andre couldn't hide his excitement on his face and patted him on the shoulder, "Baru, good job."

Colonel Ivan had also recovered from his shock by this time, his Adam's apple rolling, "Andrei, do as you say. I'll go coordinate with the higher-ups."

After he finished speaking, he punched Zibaru in the chest and said, "Not bad, young man. You are the best Southeast Asian soldier I have ever seen."

Andrei told him about his idea of letting Baru stay, becoming a Russian citizen, and recruiting him into Alpha as an exception. He thought he would agree without hesitation, but unexpectedly, Baru rejected it outright.
