Chapter 67: See? This is what we call not speaking properly.

Nan Xi and Nan Suzhi's conversation ended unpleasantly. In the end, she didn't even have the courage to listen to what Nan Suzhi said. She bit her lip, shook off Nan Suzhi's hand, and fled from the old house.

Returning to the small apartment, she seemed to have just woken up from a trance, but she still couldn't accept that the brother who had doted on her for twenty years had suddenly become her adopted son.

She didn't know how to face Nan Suzhi in the future.

Pretending to know nothing is obviously deceiving yourself.

Pretending to be a stranger? She couldn't be so cold-blooded.

I curled up on the sofa and cried, but I still couldn't find the answer. The next day I went to school with two walnut-like eyes.

Shen Ce called and said that something urgent happened at home and he couldn't come to have dinner with her today, so she just had some peace and quiet.

After class in the afternoon, I packed up my things and was about to leave when someone called me.

"Classmate Nanxi." The one who called her was Xu Jin, the teacher who taught them thangka painting in the elective course. He was from Beijing and graduated with a doctorate from the Beijing Academy of Fine Arts. He was a famous young talent in Yuncheng. He was humble, polite and handsome.

"Teacher!" Nanxi looked up, met the teacher's slightly awkward eyes, and spoke in confusion.

"Nanxi, the Green Tara you painted last time has been collected by the Yuncheng Art Museum, along with Liang Lu's Thousand-Armed Guanyin. This is a happy occasion, and I'd like to invite you two to dinner to celebrate. Do you have time?"

It took her a full six months to finish the painting of Green Tara. She had planned to give it to her father as a gift after the exhibition, but she didn't expect so many unexpected changes to happen later.

"Teacher, I—"

"Nanxi, you've been taking my class for over a year. I've eaten with almost all of my classmates, but you haven't. Do you have any complaints about me?"

Nanxi pursed her lips and said, "Okay then! When will Liang Lu finish her get out of class?"

"Let's go first, she's almost here."

Liang Lu is a very lively and cheerful girl. With her around, the atmosphere at the dinner table is harmonious and relaxed.

After dinner, Liang Lu suggested going to the bar. Nanxi didn't dare to go. Her father and brother never allowed her to go to such places before. Even though no one was watching now, her father's advice to be cautious in solitude still rang in her ears from time to time.

"Xixi, come on, let's go to the newly opened T-13. I heard it's really fun. The teacher is coming with us, so it's okay."

Liang Lu tried every possible means to coax her into holding onto her arm and refused to let go.

"Nanxi, why don't you come over and sit for a while? We'll be out before ten o'clock, okay?" Xu Jin stood aside and smiled gently. Perhaps it was because of his many years of studying art, he had the temperament of a gentleman.

Nanxi was in a bad mood and thought it would be good to divert her attention so that she wouldn't be so upset and want to cry when she returned and thought about Nan Suzhi.

T-13 Bar.

Although she was dressed modestly, Nanxi, whose appearance was obviously different from that of ordinary people, was fixed on many eyes as soon as she walked in. Those eyes included amazement and admiration from the same sex, as well as sticky gazes emitting hormones from the opposite sex.

Nanxi had an expressionless face. Despite those stares, she went to the booth that had been booked in advance with the two of them.

The light was dim and the atmosphere was warm. On the stage with various lights crisscrossing, three boys with good figures were dancing dynamically. Liang Lu unconsciously twisted her body to the music.

The waiter came over to take drinks. Liang Lu insisted on trying Tequila and wanted to drag Xu Jin to drink it with her. Nan Xi couldn't drink such strong alcohol, so she just ordered a cocktail that looked like juice.

Liang Lu was so drunk that she ran to the dance floor to dance. Only Nanxi and Xu Jin were left in the booth. They chatted politely, occasionally.

Xu Jin is not good at humor, and he talked to Nanxi dryly about his experience of going to Tibet to learn to paint thangkas when he was a teenager. Nanxi was very interested and listened very carefully, but the environment was too noisy, so he had to turn up the volume.

Nanxi noticed that he was having difficulty speaking, so she tried her best to lean closer to listen within her sense of boundaries and asked a few questions from time to time.

But this action, viewed from the bar owner's private glass booth upstairs, seemed too ambiguous.

"Brother Ce, my sister-in-law is worthy of being the pearl of Yuncheng. Such charm, wow..." The bar owner Shen Feng, who is Shen Ce's cousin, accidentally saw his future sister-in-law appear below and called Shen Ce.

Chen Ce's grandfather fell down at home, so he accompanied his mother to the hospital to visit him. Before he could even sit down, he received a call from his cousin, who was so angry that he drove over. Chen's mother was so angry that she scolded him for forgetting his mother after getting married.

Shen Ce came over and saw that there were three people. He didn't dare to go forward, thinking that he could just wait until they finished talking and then go over to pick them up. However, as he watched, he began to get angry for no reason, especially when there were only two of them left at the table, still talking and laughing, he became unbearable.

The way the man looked at Nanxi was like a male peacock in courtship, wishing his tail would reach the sky.

"Hey, are you chatting?" Chen Ce, looking like a dandy young man, sat down next to Nanxi with a cigarette between his legs, his nose almost touching her face, and said in an ambiguous tone, "Baby, why don't you bring your friends to the VIP room when you bring them here? It seems so rude."

Nanxi frowned and turned sideways, avoiding his approaching body. "Don't you have something to do? Why are you here?"

"Shouldn't I be the one asking you this? Didn't you say you were going back to rest? Why are you here? Baby, didn't I tell you that there are a lot of bad people in society? Don't believe everyone and just don't listen."

Xu Jinjun frowned and looked at Shen Ce with the same momentum as before, "Who are you? This is our seat, please leave."
