The door of the villa was wide open. As soon as Nanxi walked in, Uncle Li came up to greet her respectfully.
"Miss, the gentleman is inside. I'll take you there."
Nanxi glared at Uncle Li coldly, "Uncle Li, how many years have you been following my father?"
"23 years, Miss."
"So it seems my dad treats you well, otherwise you wouldn't be so loyal to him, right?"
"Miss, you are joking. I don't have any special skills. I just run errands for you. It's because you don't despise me." Uncle Li was still respectful and humble.
Nanxi smiled and said, "Well, that's true. But Uncle Li, sometimes people still need to be more cautious and learn to be tactful when they need to be, right?"
Uncle Li's expression remained unchanged, but his straight spine bent slightly. "I'll remember what the young lady said."
"I hope so," Nanxi shook her hair, "Where is Dad? Take me there."
Nanxi was taken to the study on the second floor.
As soon as the door was opened, the elegant man who was sitting inside drinking tea looked over. A rare flash of warmth flashed in his cold, hawk-like eyes, "Xixi, come and sit."
All of Nanxi's emotions collapsed in an instant, and grievance, disappointment, and anger all surged into her heart.
She took two steps forward and smashed all the ornaments on the antique shelf. Then she ran over and threw out all the books on the bookshelf. She sat down on the ground and burst into tears until she could no longer make a fuss.
"Nan Zhenguo...how could you do this...you lied to me..."
She rarely throws a tantrum at her father. The last time she did was when her father brought that Korean woman home.
Nan Zhenguo sat in the armchair, unmoved, watching her lose her temper quietly. He didn't speak until she could no longer cry.
"Are you tired of crying? If you are tired of crying, just get up. You are already an adult, what a shame."
"I don't care." She wiped her tears and sat down on the chair opposite. "Explain to me."
Nan Zhenguo raised his eyes, a smile flashing across his eyes. "It is true that the Shen family framed me because of the Zouwu Bridge incident. However, the Shen family had a friend who needed my help, so they secretly released me back to Myanmar. Until now, I still can't return to China."
“You know the Shen family is a pack of wolves, and you still want me to marry Shen Ce?”
"Aren't you unmarried?" Nan Zhenguo said calmly, pouring her a cup of tea. "Okay, it's all Dad's fault. Daddy apologizes, okay?"
Nanxi pouted and sniffed, "But Shen Ce used your illness to threaten me and bullied me for a whole year. How do I settle this account?"
Nan Zhenguo's dark eyes darkened, "Don't worry, I won't let the Shen family go. Xixi, Dad knows you've suffered, and I will compensate you in the future."
Nanxi was still angry, "Forget about compensation, you are my father, I can't just watch you die in there."
Nan Zhenguo's eyes showed even more tenderness, and a rare smile spread across his usually stern face. "The thing Dad is most proud of in his life is not how much money he has made, but having a good daughter like Xixi who understands my feelings."
"You know I'm a good person, but you still lied to me." Nanxi rolled her eyes at him, "You bad old man."
"No rules."
Nan Zhenguo gave her a doting look and changed the subject, "Are you still hanging out with that Burmese kid?"
"What do you mean by fooling around?" Nanxi's eyes widened. "Dad, you can't say that about him. He's my boyfriend."
"You're useless." Nan Zhenguo's expression turned cold again. "My daughter is so beautiful and outstanding, how could she marry a rough soldier? We'll break up after just some fun. Dad will arrange a marriage for you that matches you."
"Dad, you should worry about your own affairs first. I'm still young now. I'll get married when your business becomes bigger and stronger. That way, no matter who I marry, no one will dare to bully me, right?"
Nan Zhenguo glanced at her and said, "Childish! Go back after playing for two days. I'm busy lately and don't have the energy to take care of you." He took out a card from the drawer in front of him and handed it to Nan Xi.
"Here, pocket money."
Nanxi took it with a smile and raised her eyebrows, "How much is it? If it's less, it won't be enough to suppress the shock I've suffered this time."
"Don't learn the ways of those dandies, understand?"
"I know, I know. I'm very low-key." Nanxi put the card into her bag, looking very happy.
"Where's that Korean woman? Every time she sees me, she's like a mouse seeing a cat. Ask her to come out and see me."
Nan Zhenguo pressed his temple. "Why are you always holding her back? You're the eldest daughter of the Nan family. You can be spoiled and arrogant, but you can't do anything that lowers your status. Do you understand?"
"Then would it be considered lowering my status if I married Shen Ce?"
"A blessing in disguise? Xixi, Daddy will give you a big gift as compensation. Don't worry about these little things. You are still young. It's only a year. It will be over in a pinch."
"I see." Nanxi raised her hand to play with the jade ruyi on the tea table, then raised her eyes and said, "Dad, is this true?"
"You don't even have this much vision. All my money spent over the years is wasted."
"Hey, thanks, Dad. This is for calming me down." She said, opening her bag and stuffing the jade ruyi inside. "Dad, you're busy. I'm going on a date with my boyfriend."
After she finished speaking, she trotted out with her bag.
When he reached the door, he suddenly remembered something, turned around, glanced at the second floor, went upstairs again, opened the door of the master bedroom, and sure enough, he saw Han Yingna hiding inside.
"Hey, little mom, what are you doing hiding here?"
Han Yingna's face was full of awkward smiles, "Xixi is here? Have you eaten? I'll ask someone to make it."
