Chapter 105 Prenatal Education (2/2)

She tilted her little face up and asked, "How did you know they were a brother and a sister?"

“I had a dream before, in which two children waved to me,” Lu Linchuan said. “The two children called me Dad, and they were a boy and a girl.”

"I think it's the baby in my belly that's sending me a message in my dream." The man's large arm was around the woman's waist, his warm palm pressed against her abdomen, as he spoke softly.

"It's possible." Su Wantang looked up and smiled. "I also hope it's a boy and a girl. It would be so lively at home if we had twins."

"Honey, I'm sorry you've had to go through all this." Lu Linchuan looked at her with heartache. "Carrying two children must have been very hard."

"I'm not tired at all." Su Wantang buried her face in the man's broad chest and smiled. "Being with you, I'm not tired at all."

It's true that it's not hard work.

Because she drank the spiritual spring water, her body was in excellent condition.

Although she is pregnant with twins, she looks great.

Normally, pregnant women carrying twins will experience some slowness in walking and some difficulty in moving around this stage of pregnancy.

However, Su Wantang was still as agile as a young girl, walking freely and flexibly. Apart from her slightly large belly, she had no other inconveniences.

Lu Linchuan thought she was just comforting him, and he kissed her smooth forehead tenderly. "Wife, I love you."

His voice was hoarse and deep, each word distinct and clear.

"I love you too." Su Wantang placed her slender white hand on the man's chest, smiling gently.

This night was warm and happy.

————

Winter in Heilongjiang Province comes early and fiercely.

The cold wind lashed at her face like knives. Zhang Xuehui wrapped her faded, patched cotton-padded coat tighter around her neck, but the meager warmth was no match for the biting chill. Clutching a shovel, she mechanically turned over the frozen, hard black earth beneath her feet, each turn leaving her hands numb with the force.

My fingers were already frozen red and swollen like carrots, with several cracks that bled, and they hurt terribly to the touch.

Lunch consisted of cold sorghum buns and a bowl of vegetable soup so thin you could see your reflection in it, with a few lonely vegetable leaves floating on top, not a speck of oil in sight. Zhang Xuehui wolfed it down, but it only made her feel even hungrier.

She has been living like this for almost a year.

From bustling Shanghai to this desolate, godforsaken wilderness, her life plummeted from the heights to the depths of despair. Her former pride and dignity were completely worn away by endless labor and the hardships of hunger and cold.

She hates it!

She hated Su Wantang. If it weren't for that bitch, how could she have ended up like this! And how could her parents have been arrested!

Just then, a commotion arose from the nearby educated youth settlement.

"The newspaper is here! Today's newspaper is here!"

A shout made everyone stop what they were doing, and a rare excitement appeared on their tired faces. In this dull and monotonous place, the newspaper was their only window to the outside world.

Zhang Xuehui straightened her aching back and coldly watched as the group of people swarmed around her like flies to blood.

"Take a look, what does it say on it?"

"Hey, big news! The island military region has cracked a major enemy spy case and made a great contribution!" (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
