Chapter 30 The Wedding (2/2)

Lu's mother quickly stepped forward, opened the small box, and found a luxurious women's wristwatch inside.

"Thank you, Uncle and Aunt." Su Wantang smiled. "But I'm already wearing a wristwatch, which Lin Chuan bought for me."

Lin Chuan bought the same watch as his future mother-in-law. Although they weren't the same style, Su Wantang felt a little heartbroken.

“What he bought for you is his, what I bought for you is mine.” Mother Lu gently patted Su Wantang’s hand. “Don’t wear his for now, wear mine.”

As she spoke, Lu's mother untied the dark green women's wristwatch on Su Wantang's left wrist and put the one she had bought on Su Wantang's wrist.

"So beautiful." Mother Lu held Su Wantang's fair and slender hand, smiling from ear to ear. "My daughter-in-law looks like a fairy, beautiful in every way."

Su Wantang smiled, revealing two small dimples at the corners of her lips.

She could sense that her aunt genuinely liked and praised her.

"Thank you, Auntie, I like it very much." Su Wantang was overjoyed.

"You still call me 'Auntie'?" Mrs. Lu deliberately put on a stern face, feigning anger.

"Mom?" Su Wantang asked tentatively.

"Oh! My daughter-in-law's call of 'Mom' is so sweet, it really touches my heart!" Mother Lu smiled from ear to ear, her eyes curving into crescents.

"And what about me?" Mr. Lu snorted from the side.

“Dad.” Su Wantang smiled, pursing her lips.

"Yes!" Mr. Lu finally smiled and responded.

The family was in a warm and harmonious atmosphere, filled with laughter.

"Dad, Mom, we have good news to tell you," Lu Linchuan said with a smile.

"To be precise, it's two pieces of good news."

"What good news? Stop keeping me in suspense and tell me!" Mrs. Lu urged.

The family of three sat on the sofa. Lu Linchuan used his long, slender hand to pick up a small piece of apple with a fork and placed it near Su Wantang's rosy lips.

Su Wantang opened her lips and took a small bite.

"It's very sweet." She smiled and looked at Lu Linchuan.

"The first piece of good news is that Wan Tang handed over some cultural relics passed down from her parents to the Cultural Relics Bureau. She received an honorary medal from the Cultural Relics Bureau, and there's even a special wall of honor for her in our city's Cultural Relics Bureau!" Lu Linchuan said.

Lu's parents exchanged a glance, both seeing shock and surprise in each other's eyes.

"My goodness! Xiaotang, you have such a good mindset! I'm really impressed!" Mother Lu looked at Su Wantang with surprise and delight. "So many treasures, and you just said you'd donate them. It's enough to show that you are a good child with a pure heart and high moral character!"

Mr. Lu was initially a little concerned because Su Wantang was the daughter of a capitalist, and he worried that Su Wantang's identity would affect his son's future prospects. But now, he is not worried at all.

This daughter-in-law is much better than he thought!

"Dad, Mom, look." With that, Lu Linchuan took out Su Wantang's certificate of honor and handed it to the elderly couple.

Mr. Lu quickly took out his reading glasses, carefully wiped them with his neck, put them properly on his nose, and then leaned over to examine them closely.

"An advanced and outstanding individual..." Mr. Lu read each word carefully, his delight growing with each reading. "Excellent, excellent, truly excellent!" (This chapter has been completed. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
