Chapter 39 Human Traffickers! (2/2)

Lu Linchuan came to Su Wantang's side. He lowered his voice and said in a deep voice, "That old couple, something's not right."

Su Wantang looked up at him. "Did you find something?"

“I was just going to get some water and passed by them.” Lu Linchuan’s gaze fell heavily on the distance. “Those two old geezers were each holding a child. Putting aside their relationship with the children and how they came to be here, the fact that they hugged the children so tightly when they saw me is that they were afraid I would see the children’s faces…”

"So, you suspect that this child isn't theirs at all?" Su Wantang asked in a low voice.

“That’s right. The arrival of these two children is quite strange.” Lu Linchuan said, sitting opposite Su Wantang.

Su Wantang's heart skipped a beat.

The sensational child trafficking case from her past life, which shocked the entire nation, instantly flashed through her mind.

Human traffickers disguise themselves as ordinary couples, drug children, and then move them on trains.

“I’ve heard that many human traffickers appear on trains,” Su Wantang said in a low voice.

Lu Linchuan realized something, "You think they're human traffickers?"

“I only have this guess, but I’m not sure yet,” Su Wantang said. “I’ll go and try it out on them.”

"Let's eat first before we go," Lu Linchuan said.

"This steamed bun is so big, I'm already full." Su Wantang chuckled, handing half a steamed bun to Lu Linchuan. "Do you want some?"

"I'll go with you first, and we'll eat when we get back," Lu Linchuan said.

"Give me directions," Su Wantang said. "Later, we'll pretend to come over there by accident, without making it seem like we're doing it on purpose."

Lu Linchuan nodded, indicating that he understood.

Then, Su Wantang got up and, led by Lu Linchuan, quickly arrived at the carriage where the elderly couple was.

At this moment, the elderly couple in the carriage were sitting close together, each holding a child in their arms. Both children were wrapped tightly in dark blue blankets, so that their faces were not visible.

But judging from the size of the two swaddled babies, they looked like infants only a few months old.

At this moment, the elderly couple were bowing their heads, seemingly stroking the child's back with affection, but their eyes kept glancing around, revealing a guilty conscience and panic.

There's definitely something wrong with the way those two look at you!

Those two children were sleeping too soundly.

It was strangely heavy.

Su Wantang and Lu Linchuan exchanged a glance, and they both understood something from each other's eyes.

Su Wantang placed her slender white palm on her lower abdomen and walked to the bedside of the elderly couple.

At that moment, the train was turning a corner and suddenly jolted.

She seemed to lose her balance, her body tilted, and her elbow "accidentally" bumped into one of the children's legs.

The force was considerable.

But the child was like a rag doll, not even making a sound or moving.

This kid definitely has a problem!

What are you doing!

The old woman immediately flew into a rage, yelling in a shrill voice, her cloudy eyes filled with malice.

"Can't you watch where you're going?! You've damaged my precious grandson, can you afford to pay for it?!"

Su Wantang steadied herself, but instead of apologizing, she let out a cold laugh.

"I can't afford to pay? Who should pay whom?!"

Her voice suddenly rose, loud enough for half the carriage to hear.

"You two old hags, you took over my bed and made me faint, almost harming my unborn child! Let me tell you, I'm carrying twins! Now, you two have to compensate me!" (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
