Chapter 52 Medical Talents! (4/4)

"I've got it!" DouDou said in her childish voice, her big, dark eyes clear and bright.

Just then, footsteps sounded from not far away, and the old military doctor hurriedly arrived carrying his medical kit.

"How is the child?" The old military doctor ran over breathlessly, and when he saw that Dou Dou had regained consciousness, he immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

He crouched down to carefully check Dou Dou's condition, listened to her heartbeat, and only after confirming that the child was out of danger did he look up at Su Wantang.

"Is it you who saved the child?" The old military doctor's eyes were full of respect.

Su Wantang nodded.

The old military doctor's aged eyes were filled with surprise: "Young lady, I never expected you to be so capable at such a young age! If this child had arrived a few minutes later, even if he had been brought to our infirmary, it would have been too late. Your first aid techniques are very professional. Where did you learn them?"

"I learned it by reading medical books when I had nothing else to do," Su Wantang said.

Of course, she couldn't reveal the existence of the space.

It's safest for her to know this herself.

The old military doctor was even more surprised: "You've learned this much just by reading medical books? You're quite talented. Our infirmary is short-staffed, would you like to come and help?"

People around Su Wantang looked at her with envy. Being able to work in the military medical clinic was a coveted job for many people!

Su Wantang is so lucky!

Su Wantang shook her head: "Thank you for your kindness, old military doctor, but I'm pregnant now, so it's not convenient for me."

"After you give birth, you can come to our clinic whenever you have time. We welcome you anytime," the old military doctor said sincerely.

It would be great if only people like that could be admitted to the military doctor's infirmary.

The old military doctor picked up his medical kit and prepared to leave. Before leaving, he said to Su Wantang, "Really consider my suggestion. Talented people like you shouldn't be buried."

"Okay, I'll consider it," Su Wantang said with a smile.

The crowd gradually dispersed, and it was getting late, so everyone went home to prepare dinner.

Zhao Jing, holding Dou Dou, walked up to Su Wantang and said, "Tang, our family will never forget this kindness. If you need any help in the future, just let us know."

Su Wantang waved her hand: "We're all neighbors, it's only right. Dou Dou is fine now, Sister Zhao, you should take Dou Dou back quickly and make him some ginger water to warm him up. Children have weak immune systems, so you don't want him to catch a cold."

"Okay, I understand." Zhao Jing looked at her gratefully, picked up the child, and quickly got up and left.

Once the crowd had dispersed, the man's deep eyes fixed on the pale-faced woman before him. "You've got guts! You're pregnant, yet you dared to jump into the sea to save someone!"

"I was in a critical situation at the time..." Su Wantang said softly.

The man's hand gripping the chopsticks tightened, his knuckles turning an unnatural blue. His deep voice was strained, and his handsome, sculpted face was cold and stern. "Then you can't risk your own safety to save someone."

"Do you even know you're pregnant?!"

On the way back, as Lu Linchuan listened to the women in the Luoshu compound vividly recounting how dangerous the incident had been and how brave Su Wantang had been when she rescued people, his heart instantly leaped into his throat.

This is extremely dangerous.

The man's deep, dark eyes held an intensely complex mix of emotions. "What if something happens to you? What will happen to the baby in your belly? What am I supposed to do?"

The man's voice trembled and tightened, as if he were suppressing it to the extreme. (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
