After this incident, the couple couldn't sleep tonight.
"Uncle, come in." Lu Linchuan gestured for Qin Tian to enter.
"Xiao Tang, Lin Chuan, I'm so sorry to have wronged you." Qin Tian said to the two of them with a guilty look as soon as he entered the door.
Su Wantang shook her head: "Uncle, we have nothing to be wronged about. As long as we can dig out this cancer, it's all worth it."
"I'll keep a close eye on her these next few days," Qin Tian said. "I'll let you know if anything happens to her."
Lu Linchuan shook his head, his deep gaze fixed on Qin Tian: "This is too passive. We can't wait for her to act; we have to force her to act."
How do we force it?
“Lure the snake out of its hole.” Lu Linchuan’s tone was calm, yet carried an undeniable force. “Uncle, you are an expert at the Military Research Institute. An ‘important’ blueprint is enough to make this snake unable to restrain itself.”
Qin Tian understood instantly.
This is a trap, a trap specifically set for Li Xiumei.
“Okay,” Qin Tian nodded. “I’ve obtained Xiao Feng’s hair sample. I plan to do a DNA test tomorrow to see if this is really my child.”
Not long after he married Li Xiumei, she became pregnant.
He suspected that the child was not his at all.
“Okay.” Lu Linchuan nodded. “Uncle, you should go back now, or it will be troublesome if you are discovered.”
"Okay." Qin Tian nodded. "Then I'll be going now. You two should get some rest."
"I will deliver the samples to the hospital tomorrow morning and finish designing the blueprints by evening. If Li Xiumei takes action, then we will act tonight."
"Okay." Lu Linchuan nodded. "Uncle, please be careful on the road."

Qin Tian tiptoed back, and when he returned, Li Xiumei and her son were already fast asleep, showing no signs of waking up.
Qin Tian felt relieved and quietly lay down on the bed.
Qin Tian did not sleep well that night.
The thought that the person who had been by his side for so long was a spy made him feel like he had a thorn in his side.
I had nightmares all night.
The next morning, at six o'clock.
Qin Tian got up and said to Li Xiumei beside him, "I'm going to work."
"Why did you go so early today?" Li Xiumei muttered as she turned over with her eyes closed.
"We need to study some more things today," Qin Tian said. "It'll take a lot of time."
Upon hearing this, Li Xiumei was no longer sleepy. She opened her eyes and slowly sat up. "Oh, I see. Then you should hurry up and go. You can't delay the research."
"Okay." Qin Tian suppressed his emotions and turned to leave.
"I won't make you breakfast. I'm still sleepy. I'm going to lie down and sleep some more."
"Okay." Qin Tian hadn't expected Li Xiumei to cook for him anyway.
Then, Qin Tian got up and left.

After leaving home, Qin Tian bought a steamed bun from a roadside vendor, ate a few bites, and then headed straight to the hospital.
He handed the sample to the doctor and sat in the corridor to wait.
The hospital corridor was blindingly white, and the smell of disinfectant filled Qin Tian's nostrils, carrying a cold, ominous premonition.
He sat on the cold plastic bench, his fingers tapping unconsciously on his knees, again and again. Time stretched like a rubber band, each second taut with tension.
The sounds of bustling activity emanated from the nurses' station, while in the distance, a patient's suppressed cough could be heard. These sounds mingled together, weaving a web of unease that enveloped him completely.
Qin Tian's mind was in complete chaos.
He wanted the child to be his, yet he also wanted the child not to be his.
He sat motionless on the plastic chair for the entire morning.
