Chapter 477 The Gu Family's Adorable Baby Returns to Beijing

Chapter 477 The Gu Family's Adorable Baby Returns to Beijing

He was carrying a pink thermos that seemed out of place with his military uniform.

“That old man from Pfizer is sleeping on the ground outside, it’s an eyesore.” Gu Beichen placed the thermos in the most conspicuous spot on the table and casually pushed aside Su Yue’s pile of valuable documents. “I had someone ‘invite’ him to the guesthouse.”

The so-called "please" was probably just the guards carrying him out.

Su Yue rubbed her slightly sore neck, her sharp aura instantly dissipating, and she slumped into the executive chair.

"Deputy Commander Gu is still the most impressive." She opened the thermos, and a rich aroma of angelica and black chicken soup wafted out. "What brings you here today? Aren't you going to be supervising your special forces training?"

Gu Beichen walked around the desk, placed his large hand on the back of her neck, and massaged it with moderate pressure.

"Even special forces soldiers aren't as difficult to please as you."

He pulled a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket and slapped it on the table.

“Your son, Gu Ping’an. Last week, he hacked into the National University of Defense Technology’s intranet and changed the principal’s computer desktop to a picture of Ultraman fighting monsters.” Gu Beichen’s tone was calm, revealing no emotion. “The principal called my office and asked if I was going to specially recruit that ‘hacker’.”

Su Yue took a sip of soup and almost spat it out.

"This kid..." She wiped her mouth, unable to suppress a laugh, "He's only thirteen and he's already being specially recruited? What about Ning Jing?"

“Your daughter is even more successful.” Gu Beichen pointed out the window.

On the top floor of the nearby experimental building, a strangely shaped drone was taking off wobbly, with a string of firecrackers hanging below it, crackling and popping, scaring a flock of seagulls into scattering in all directions.

“She was researching the propulsion efficiency of biofuels and, incidentally, blew two windows out of the lab.” Gu Beichen sighed. “Huo Wenxuan just called me crying, saying he didn’t dare ask you for reimbursement because he was afraid you would deduct his commission.”

Looking at the rising black smoke outside the window, Su Yue was not angry at all; instead, she laughed heartily.

“Okay.” She put down her soup spoon, stood up and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, looking down at the business empire she had built from scratch. “My son is going to fly high, and my daughter is going to go into business. Gu Beichen, our little eagles have grown wings.”

Gu Beichen hugged her from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder.

On the distant sea, a giant ship fully loaded with containers of "Blue Ocean Pharmaceuticals" is slowly leaving the port, its horn sounding long and deep.

"Good that it's hard." Gu Beichen tightened his grip. "No matter how high it flies, the string is still in our hands."

"Pack your things," he whispered in Su Yue's ear. "We're going to the capital next week. Those old guys have heard that the Gu family has produced two troublemakers, and they can't wait to see them for themselves."

Su Yue raised an eyebrow: "Insight? I think you're just trying to intimidate us."

“That was before.” Gu Beichen tidied the stray hairs at her temples. “Going to the capital now is like a dragon returning to the sea.”

Chang'an Club, Beijing.

This is the most extravagant den of iniquity in Beijing. Those who can enter this gate are either powerful or incredibly wealthy.

The license plates of the cars parked at the entrance are all more frightening than the last.

Inside the banquet hall, a group of young people in their early twenties were toasting each other.

"Hey, have you heard? That country bumpkin from the Gu family who grew up on an island is coming today." A young man in a Versace shirt swirled his wine glass, his face full of mockery. "What's his name again? Gu Ping'an? Just hearing that name makes you sound incredibly tacky."

"It's just because of Deputy Commander Gu's influence," a heavily made-up girl chimed in. "I heard he's been raised in the countryside, and probably doesn't even know how to hold a Western knife and fork."

The crowd burst into laughter.

On the sofa in the corner sat a boy and a girl.

The boy looked to be sixteen or seventeen years old, wearing a faded camouflage T-shirt and a pair of worn-out training boots.

He held a Rubik's Cube in his hand, his fingers flying across the paper so fast that only afterimages could be seen.

The girl was even younger, with her hair in a ponytail and wearing black-rimmed glasses. She was engrossed in reading a copy of Nature, an all-English magazine.

"Brother, they're so noisy." Gu Ningjing turned a page of her book without even looking up. "Noise this loud can damage hearing and lower IQ."

"Bear with it." Gu Ping'an put the last piece of the Rubik's Cube back in place and slammed it onto the marble table. "Mom told us to keep a low profile and be polite first, then resort to force."

Just then, the Versace man walked over with a wine glass in his hand.

He looked down at Gu Ping'an, who was dressed in cheap clothes, with disdain in his eyes.

"Hey, that's where the waiters sit." Versace kicked Gu Ping'an's boot. "Go get your plates over there, don't dirty my sofa."

Gu Ping'an stopped what he was doing.

He slowly raised his head, and a hint of amusement flashed in his phoenix eyes, which resembled Gu Beichen's.

"Your name is written on this sofa?"

"Hey, you dare talk back?" The Versace man chuckled. "Kid, do you know who I am? My dad is..."

"I don't care who your father is." Gu Pingan stood up.

Although he is young, he inherited Gu Beichen's height and is already 1.7 meters tall at only thirteen years old.

Standing there at that moment, the fierce aura he had cultivated through years of training in the military instantly overwhelmed the other person's feminine charm.

"Get out of the way," Gu Ping'an uttered.

The man, startled by the imposing manner, immediately became enraged and reached out to shove Gu Ping'an, yelling, "You country bumpkin..."

His hand hadn't even touched the hem of Gu Ping'an's clothes yet.

"Crack".

A crisp sound.

The Versace man let out a scream as his arms were twisted behind his back and he was pinned to the coffee table, his face pressed against the cold marble. The glass of red wine was spilled all over his expensive shirt.

"Let me go! Bodyguard! Where have you been?!"

Several burly men in black rushed over upon hearing the noise.

Gu Pingan held down the Versace man with one hand, picked up the Rubik's Cube on the table with the other, and threw it away without even looking at it.

"Bang!" The Rubik's Cube struck the lead bodyguard's knee tendon with pinpoint accuracy.

The bodyguard's legs buckled, and he knelt on the ground.

Before the remaining few could even get close, they were sprayed in the face with a spray bottle that Gu Ningjing pulled out from somewhere.

"Cough cough cough! What is this?!"

The bodyguards covered their eyes and rolled on the ground, snot and tears streaming down their faces.

"High-concentration capsaicin extract." Gu Ningjing pushed up her glasses and explained in a serious tone, "Blue Ocean Labs' enhanced pepper spray is a hundred times spicier than ghost peppers. I suggest you wash it with milk; water will only worsen the pain."

The entire room fell silent.

These aren't country bumpkins! They're practically two little monsters!

"Who's causing trouble?!"

The door was pushed open, and a middle-aged man strode in aggressively. It was none other than Mr. Wang, the father of the man from Versace, a real estate tycoon in Beijing.

"Dad! Save me! This kid is going to kill someone!" Versace cried out on the table.

When Mr. Wang saw his son beaten like this, he flew into a rage: "They've gone too far! How dare they touch my son? Men, arrest these two little bastards!"

"Let's see who dares."
