Chapter 84 The Straightforward Girl Flirts with the Blockhead
"Oh dear, that's such a pity! A soldier as good as you must be liked by many people!"
Yang Yiyi praised him without reservation, and with a hint of curiosity, asked, "So what type of girl do you like?"
This problem is going to be the death of Yun Mu.
His mind went blank; he had no idea how to answer.
He was a rough guy who spent most of his time in the military, and all he did was train and go on missions. He never thought about these things.

Seeing his appearance, Yang Yiyi felt even more certain of the "blockhead" assessment Su Yuexin had given him.
She found it amusing and continued to tease him: "You and Commander Gu are comrades-in-arms. Is he usually as quiet as you?"
“The commander is different.” Yun Mu finally managed to utter a few words, “The commander… he is very powerful.”
"Oh?" Yang Yiyi's curiosity was piqued again. "How is it different? Tell me!"
Yun Mu considered it for a moment, recalling Gu Beichen's decisiveness on the training ground, his composure during missions, and his meticulous care for Su Yue.
These images flashed through his mind, but he couldn't find the right words to describe them.
"He...he's just amazing." Yun Mu could only express it with the simplest words in the end.
Yang Yiyi laughed again, amused by him: "Hahaha! Company Commander Yun, your eloquence is truly amazing! But I prefer honest people like you, much better than those glib-tongued ones."
Upon hearing this, Yun Mu's cheeks burned even more intensely, and his ears also turned red.
He stole a glance at Yang Yiyi and felt that the girl's curved eyebrows and bright smile were like a dancing flame, melting away the coldness in his heart.
He felt that he wasn't so nervous anymore. Or rather, his nervousness was starting to be mixed with something else.
"You...you came from Shanghai, how long did it take you by train?" Yun Mu tried to make his voice sound natural.
"Ugh, don't even mention it! Two days and one night!" Yang Yiyi stuck out her tongue. "I was hoping to get a good night's sleep on the train, but the kid across from me kept crying and I couldn't sleep at all. It's really not easy being a parent!"
Upon hearing this, the image of the abducted baby involuntarily surfaced in Yun Mu's mind.
He had heard Xiao Wang mention before that his sister-in-law and the regimental commander had rescued a trafficked baby on the train.
He was about to ask Yang Yiyi if anything unusual had happened, but then he felt that such a thing was not appropriate to bring up at their first meeting.

Yang Yiyi peeked out and saw several lush mango trees in the yard, laden with green fruit. She immediately spotted Su Yue's gate, where some red boxes were piled up, presumably wedding supplies.
"Thank you, Company Commander Yun!" Yang Yiyi unbuckled her seatbelt, picked up two net bags, and jumped out of the car.
She waved to Yun Mu, "Then I'll go in first! See you at the wedding!"
After saying that, she ran into Su Yue's courtyard without looking back, leaving the tall, upright company commander with red ears behind her in the car.
Yun Mu watched Yang Yiyi's cheerful figure disappear into the courtyard gate until she was out of sight before slowly coming back to his senses.
He found his heart was beating unusually fast, and the heat on his cheeks lingered.
He reached up and touched his earlobe; it was frighteningly hot.
“A blockhead…” he muttered to himself, a smile unconsciously curving his lips.
He started the jeep and slowly drove towards the military district guesthouse. All the way, Yang Yiyi's voice and smile were etched into his heart like a brand.
He even started looking forward to the wedding in ten days.

In the Gu family courtyard, Yang Yiyi was still talking non-stop about the "wonderful fate" of meeting Yun Mu on the train.
"Yueyue, you have no idea how red his face was back then, it was practically bleeding! Hahaha!" Yang Yiyi laughed so hard she was shaking, mimicking Yun Mu's embarrassed expression, which made Su Yue laugh as well.
"But then again, he's really good-looking! Tall and broad-shouldered, with a very upright gaze. Although he's not very talkative, he seems very reliable!"
As Yang Yiyi spoke, she nudged Su Yue with her elbow, "You didn't lie to me! You've been a great best friend to me!"
Seeing her lively demeanor, Su Yue finally felt a great weight lifted from her heart.
It seems that she and Gu Beichen were right; there's definitely something going on between them!

Zhang Huilan brought out a steaming bowl of pork rib and corn soup from the kitchen and said happily upon hearing this.
"Yiyi, if you think Xiaoyun is a good kid, then make the most of her. She's really a good kid, reliable and down-to-earth, and she's one of the best in the army."
