Chapter 9: Hollowed Out! Dogs Fight, Couple Turns Against Each Other!
Su Yue glanced at the keys in Lin Xiuzhen's hand, a subtle smile playing on her lips. She walked over to Lin Xiuzhen, casually raising her hand to rest gently on Lin Xiuzhen's arm, tilting half of her body slightly to block Lin Xiuzhen's view.
Lin Xiuzhen was about to insert the key into the safe's lock.
In that instant, Su Yue's mind stirred, and her spatial ability was activated instantly, like an invisible hand, silently reaching into the heavy safe.
Jewelry boxes, luxury watches, stacks of gleaming gold bars, neatly bundled US dollars... all the private property that Lin Xiuzhen considered priceless vanished without a trace in less than half a second, all of it stored away in her spatial storage.
The whole process was incredibly fast; not only Lin Xiuzhen, but even she herself could barely feel it. She withdrew her hand, her expression unchanged, her eyes even carrying a hint of anticipation for "future wealth."
"Click!" The key went into the lock, and Lin Xiuzhen eagerly turned the lock cylinder and opened the cabinet door.
"ah--!"
A piercing scream shattered the silence of the morning. Lin Xiuzhen's eyes widened suddenly, her pupils contracting violently, as if she had witnessed the most terrifying thing. She lunged at the safe, frantically groping inside with her hands, her fingernails scraping against the metal walls, producing a teeth-grinding sound.
It's empty!
It was completely empty! So clean that there wasn't even a single hair in it!
Her wealth, painstakingly accumulated over decades and cherished as her lifeblood, has simply vanished...!
"Where are my...my things?! They're gone! All of them are gone!" Lin Xiuzhen screamed hysterically, her body swaying as if she was about to faint at any moment.
Hearing the scream, Lin Wan'er rushed in and was stunned to see the empty safe.
"Mom! How could this happen?!"
Su Guohua rushed over when he heard the commotion. When he saw his wife squatting in front of the empty safe, looking distraught, and Lin Wan'er looking shocked, he frowned.
In the chaos, Su Yue quietly picked up a button from her fingertips. This button was the one she had secretly taken from the suit that Su Guohua had changed out of the night before; its style and material matched his usual clothing.
Without making a sound, she bent down, pretending to help Lin Xiuzhen up. With a flick of her finger, the button "coincidentally" rolled into the deepest part of the empty safe.
"Mom, don't worry, let's look again carefully..." Su Yue's voice sounded comforting, but it actually concealed a hidden meaning.
Lin Xiuzhen was overwhelmed by the huge blow and frantically searched through the empty safe like a madwoman.
Suddenly, her fingers touched something cold and hard. She jerked her hand back, took the object out, and opened it in her palm.
It was a black suit button.
Lin Xiuzhen's eyes instantly locked onto the button, and then her pupils contracted sharply.
She recognized the button!
These are the buttons from Su Guohua's signature custom-made suit! He cherishes that suit and never lets anyone touch it!
"Su Guohua!" Lin Xiuzhen suddenly raised her head, her eyes flashing with venomous fire as she stared directly at Su Guohua. "It was you! You stole my things! Was it you?!"
Completely bewildered by this sudden accusation, Su Guohua's face turned ashen, and he roared, "What nonsense are you spouting! What did I steal from you?!"
"These buttons! These are your suit buttons! Don't try to deny it!" Lin Xiuzhen slammed the buttons at Su Guohua, furious. "Besides you, who else knows about my safe? Who dares to steal my things!"
Su Guohua stared at the buttons on the ground, his expression shifting repeatedly. He did indeed own the suit, and he did know that Lin Xiuzhen had secretly hidden some money. But he never expected that she would shift the blame onto him!
"Lin Xiuzhen, are you crazy! I'm your husband! Why would I steal your money?!" Su Guohua was so angry that his liver hurt, feeling that this woman was simply unreasonable.
"Not worth it? Of course you are! Don't think I don't know how many vixens you've been keeping on the side!" Lin Xiuzhen didn't care about appearances anymore and directly tore open Su Guohua's underwear. "Are you trying to use all my money to subsidize those sluts outside!"
The two women argued fiercely in front of Su Yue and Lin Wan'er. Lin Wan'er was so anxious that tears streamed down her face, but she couldn't get a word in edgewise.
Su Yue watched the farce unfold calmly from the sidelines. She knew this was just the beginning.
"Hmph! Su Guohua, you just wait! This isn't over!" Lin Xiuzhen stormed into the bedroom and slammed the door shut in a fit of rage.
Su Yue's eyes sharpened. The show was about to begin.
Inside the room, Su's father and Lin Xiuzhen were still arguing.
Su Guohua's voice instantly lowered, tinged with guilt and anger: "Shut up! Don't bring up those old stories!"
"Why can't I mention it?! You've done so many bad things, are you afraid of people talking about it?! You greedy devil, back then you conspired with me to send that damned girl... ah, I mean, the eldest daughter of the Su family away, all for the Su family's little bit of wealth! And now you're stealing my money! Do you think I'm stupid?!" Lin Xiuzhen became more and more agitated as she spoke, completely disregarding the fact that Su Yue was listening beside her.
"You're the idiot! Do you think I don't know what you've done?! Do you think that treasure map is real?! You're stupid! Did I only marry you for the family fortune? Let me tell you, Lin Xiuzhen, if you hadn't seduced me back then, I would never have..." Su Guohua was so angry that he became incoherent and started to tear off the mask of civility, exposing each other's shortcomings.
"Seduction? Ha! Everyone knows you were dirt poor back then. If it weren't for your meager fortune, would I have married someone like you? You think you're so noble?! If you hadn't egged me on to go after that eldest daughter of the Su family, would I be in this mess now, pleasing neither side?!"
The argument between the two grew increasingly heated, with each attacking the other. The topic quickly escalated from the stolen property to the sordid schemes they had conspired against the original owner of the Su family's mother and the original owner themselves, plotting to seize the family fortune. Every word was like a knife, stabbing viciously into the other's Achilles' heel.
Su Yue listened quietly, the tape recorder faithfully capturing everything. She heard Lin Xiuzhen mention the "conspiracy" to deal with the original owner's mother, and she also heard Su Guohua's disgust and contempt for Lin Xiuzhen. A cold smile curled at the corner of her lips.
Dogs fighting, a mouthful of fur everywhere. How interesting.
"You...you bitch! Where did you hide my money?! Tell me! Did you hide it in your little villa in the suburbs?!" Lin Xiuzhen was so angry that she dropped a bombshell.
