The villagers who were brought back were quickly interrogated by the police and confessed to what they had done.
"Ah, it's finally over!" Director Zhang breathed a sigh of relief as he looked at the statement the police officer handed him.
Several days have passed since the incident. The educated youth in the hospital need to be comforted, and the villagers of Yunlin Brigade also need an explanation.
Director Zhang signed the document, and that concluded the matter.
He handed over the documents and instructed, "Tomorrow, go to Yunhai Commune and find their staff to go with you to Yunlin Brigade to announce the punishment results."
"Yes, I understand, Director Zhang." The clerk took the document, turned and left, closing the door behind him.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Chu Jianguo and the director of the educated youth office were talking with the educated youth who were recovering from their injuries.
"Hao Wanlin was convicted of a series of crimes, including embezzlement, assault, and aiding and abetting hooliganism, and was sentenced to death."
"Hao Dabao was suspected of hooliganism, but because no final facts were achieved, he was sentenced to 30 years of farm reform."
"Other individuals involved in the case were punished according to the severity of their offenses, including Hao Wanlin's wife."
As soon as Chu Jianguo finished speaking, the ward was filled with sobs.
They had been holding back their tears, but after hearing that the bad guys had been brought to justice, they could no longer hold back their tears and just wanted to cry their hearts out.
"Come on, let's go out first." Chu Jianguo pulled the director of the educated youth office out.
Give them space to heal their emotional wounds.
"What's wrong?" The director of the educated youth office, who had been pulled out, asked in bewilderment.
Chu Jianguo glanced at the other party and replied, "Let them vent; they've been holding it in for too long."
Only after the crying stopped coming from inside did Chu Jianguo and his companion push the door open and go back in.
This is the largest ward in the county hospital, and everyone is required to stay here.
"Everyone, on behalf of the Revolutionary Committee, I will now announce your subsequent arrangements." Chu Jianguo took out a folder, opened it, and inside were transfer orders recording the destinations of the educated youth.
A group of young people looked at Director Chu with tense expressions; this was their future.
Chu Jianguo didn't keep him in suspense and directly read out, "Cao Hongjun, due to a serious leg injury, has been approved to return to the city. This is the document; please keep it safe." Chu Jianguo handed over a piece of paper, which was his proof of return to the city.
"The other educated youth, you have been reassigned to different places to continue your rural work," Chu Jianguo said succinctly, giving them time to react.
After a few minutes, one of the older educated youths asked, "Director Chu, is the place we were assigned to still within Yunnan Province?"
He was really scared and wanted to leave; he didn't want to stay here anymore.
The others also looked at Chu Jianguo with eager expressions, hoping to get a definite answer.
"You have been reassigned to rural areas closer to your homes, not in Yunnan Province," Chu Jianguo gave a positive answer, reassuring them.
"Thank you so much, Director Chu. Thank you so much."
What a pleasant surprise! I never expected to be able to return to my hometown. I'm happy even though I can't go back to the city.
Chu Jianguo gestured with his hand and then said, "You should thank Director Liao of the Educated Youth Office. He helped you get these things and contacted each place one by one."
This was really thanks to Director Liao; their Revolutionary Committee didn't really contribute anything.
"Ah, thank you, Director Liao!"
A group of people thanked them in unison, which was quite impressive!
"This is what I should do. Our office for educated youth didn't notice what happened before, which was also our dereliction of duty."
The first thing Director Liao said when he entered the room was in such an official tone.
"Once you've recovered from your injuries, go to the former educated youth center to complete the formalities. I'll be waiting for you there." After saying that, she gestured to Chu Jianguo to continue.
"You should tally up the financial losses yourselves, and we'll use the embezzled money found in the Hao family's property to compensate you." This was the result of Chu Jianguo's discussion with the county leaders.
"However, it must be true and based on facts," Chu Jianguo emphasized solemnly.
"We will, Director Chu, don't worry." This was the assurance the educated youth themselves made.
Having said what needed to be said, Chu Jianguo and Director Liao left the ward.
By the time Yin and the others learned the details, the last educated youth had also left.
More than a month passed from start to finish.
Now, it's the end of August, and Yu Yin's belly is quite big; she can clearly feel the baby moving.
"Yinyin, it really moved! It moved! It's amazing!" Lu Shurui said incoherently, his hand sometimes on Yu Yin's belly, greeting the little ones inside.
She took it off again after a while, afraid that the little guy would not sleep because he kept moving around and Yu Yin could not sleep well.
Looking at Yu Yin's round belly, which looked like a small pot turned upside down, Lu Shurui truly felt that it was really not easy for women, especially pregnant women.
Carrying a heavy belly every day, going to and from get off work as usual, and also taking care of the emotions of two grown children, Yu Yin is having a tough time.
From now on, I will have to do more to reduce Yin Yin's burden as much as possible.
Yu Yin lay sprawled on the bed, snoring softly, already fast asleep, unaware of Lu Shurui's thoughts.
When Yu Yin stopped moving, he knew she had fallen asleep.
After carefully helping her to sleep, Lu Shurui went to the next room to check on her and make sure she was safe and sound before going to bed herself.
Ping An and An An are sleeping next door now, they don't sleep in the same room with Yu Yin and the others anymore.
Ping An is three and a half years old. Yu Yin discussed with the two of them and suggested that they sleep in a separate room to avoid being disturbed by the two little ones in the future.
At first, An'an disagreed and insisted on staying in the same room with her parents, no matter what they said.
Yu Yin eventually gave up and decided to wait and see. Maybe they would find it too noisy and move out on their own.
