Chapter 133 Moving into the New Home

The house repairs are still ongoing, and Lu Shurui and his two companions are working like spinning tops.

If no one lives there for a long time, many places will start to dust when touched.

With so many children at home, we can't leave any unsanitary corners; every nook and cranny has to be wiped clean.

Aunt Lu took a day off to come and help, and Yu Yin was extremely grateful.

"Third Aunt, let Shurui wipe the top one later. It's too high for us to reach. Let's rest for a while." After washing the rag again, Yu Yin told her Third Aunt to take a break.

Aunt Lu washed the rag in her hand, straightened her back, and went to sit with Yu Yin for a while.

"Third Aunt, have something to eat," Yu Yin said, pushing the fruit plate toward Third Aunt Lu.

"Your dried fruit is so much better dried than the ones I buy from the grocery store, they're too hard," Aunt Lu said after taking a bite.

"Do your in-laws know you're back?" Aunt Lu asked uncertainly, thinking of her sister-in-law.

“Shu Rui went back last night and told my parents-in-law.”

After they returned, they were busy looking for a house and tidying up the place. Only after finally settling on a place did they have time to go back and visit.

Yu Yin didn't go back; Lu Shurui went there by herself. As for Lu's mother and the others' reactions, Yu Yin didn't care and didn't ask.

"Sigh, this family, Shumin found another one, got married and left, and basically never comes back." Auntie paused, then continued, "Shujin is in the hospital, probably too busy with work, so she doesn't come back much either, and the three children rarely come over."

Yu Yin listened. These things and these people, before, were far away and it didn't matter. But now they were all in the same place, and there would inevitably be times when they interacted. She couldn't be completely clueless and know nothing.

If Lu Shurui hadn't been so attached to his grandparents, Yu Yin wouldn't have wanted to apply to a university in Shanghai. She would have preferred to go to Beijing, where her brother was and she had Yi Xian and the others.

Seeing that Yu Yin was listening attentively, Aunt Lu knew she understood the meaning behind her words, and continued, "Shu Kang and his wife have two sons, both of whom were raised by your mother-in-law and spoiled rotten. This time, both of them got into university; Shu Kang went to a teachers' college, and Meng Yao went to a junior college." Aunt Lu recalled how proud her second sister-in-law was when she learned that Shu Kang and his wife had been accepted into university.

At that time, there was still no news from Shuqi and the others. She was so anxious that blisters appeared around her lips.

"Third Aunt, I won't hide anything from you. As for what Wang Mengyao did, I won't say we'll never see each other again, but I also won't associate with her. As for how Shurui gets along with his mother, that's his business, and I won't interfere." Yu Yin said this sincerely, as she and Lu Shurui had agreed before she came back.

Aunt Lu could tell that Yu Yin was not a person without her own opinions; she had her own principles in speaking and acting, which was a good thing.

"I heard from Shuqi that Shuxin got into that university?" Aunt Lu thought of this and confirmed it with Yu Yin.

“Well, we haven’t actually been in contact all these years. I never expected her to give up going back to Shanghai!” Yu Yin said with a sigh. She really hadn’t expected that Lu Shuxin would give off such a profit-driven impression, and that she would even harm her own cousin for Wang Mengyao’s benefit.

"She was heartbroken by her mother and didn't want to come back to face these things," Aunt Lu, who knew more, said frankly.

Yu Yin didn't know the specific details, nor did she want to. Lu Shuxin really had no interaction with her, and they were practically strangers.

Aunt Lu talked about some trivial matters of the Lu family, and then started helping out.

Lu Shurui and Lu Shuqi went to the flea market because they were still missing some furniture. They bought it there without needing a ticket and it wasn't expensive.

By the time the house and yard were almost cleaned up, it was already four days later, with only five days left until the Lunar New Year.

"Mom, are we going to Great-Grandpa's house again today?" An'an asked as soon as she opened her eyes.

"We're not going. Great-Grandpa and the others are coming to our house today. We're moving today." Yu Yin's voice was filled with joy, which anyone could hear.

"Wow, we're finally moving to a new house! Otherwise, my new little soldiers won't know where to find me!" An'an was also happy. She had recently recruited several little soldiers near her great-grandfather's house.

Yu Yin smiled. An'an can find playmates wherever she goes and will never be alone.

Pingping helped Kuai Kuai fasten his buttons, and he slowly got dressed. The family of six took their things, went downstairs to check out of the hotel, and prepared to head to their new home.

"Wow, it's changed!" An'an exclaimed. Coming here again, it was different from the first time. These past few days, they had been at their great-grandfather's house during the day and at the guesthouse at night, and hadn't come here.

"Quickly, come down!" Pingping shouted as she ran over and grabbed Kuai Kuai, who was climbing the wall.

Yu Yin opened the door, and the living room was different. The walls were painted with a layer of white paint, making it very bright.

The old-fashioned sofa chair, bought from a flea market, was old but of good quality. Yu Yin couldn't tell what kind of wood it was made of; it was heavy, smooth, and had a rich history.

A mahogany coffee table sat in front of the sofa, upon which rested a tea set—something Lu Shurui liked. On top of the chest of drawers were bottles and jars that Yu Yin had collected, looking quite authentic.

The downstairs bedroom has a large double bed, a two-door wardrobe, a table, and two chairs.

The kitchen is all set up. There's a kerosene stove, a honeycomb briquette stove, and cabinets that were found at a flea market. There are also some bottles and jars, tables, chairs, and benches that came as a set.

The bathroom has no squat toilets, so you can't use the toilet there. It has some washbasins, foot basins, toothbrushes, etc., and it's quite spacious.

The second floor has three bedrooms. The master bedroom is for Yu Yin and Lu Shurui. It has a large bed with carvings, a three-door wardrobe, and a dressing table. It has a very retro feel. On the other side, there is a large desk and bookshelf.
