Chapter 135 Lu's Mother Causes Trouble, Yu Yin Loses Her Temper

A large family, four generations living together, seemingly enjoying a harmonious life, but in reality, each member has their own thoughts and desires.

Yu Yin treated her to good food and wine; she did what she was supposed to do, and the rest was none of her business.

She could also see that the relationship between Sister-in-law Lu and Wang Mengyao, and Lu's mother was tense, that her third aunt and Lu's mother were only superficially friendly, and that Grandma Lu was indifferent to Lu's mother.

The men of the Lu family ate, drank, and chatted happily!

At Yu Yin's table, there was almost no interaction. They were either eating by themselves or taking care of their young children.

At the table, Sister-in-law Lu would occasionally put some food on her youngest son's plate, reminding him to chew slowly. Mother Lu took good care of Lu Shukang's youngest son.

The other children were safely seated at another table, and things were relatively harmonious.

Yu Yin felt that if she could just finish the meal smoothly and without any mishaps, she would be grateful.

"Grandma, shall I get you some more rice?" Yu Yin, having finished eating, slowly ate with her chopsticks.

"No, we're full. Eating more would be too much." Grandma Lu and Grandpa Lu are very health-conscious. Despite being over seventy years old, they are in excellent health.

As Grandma Lu put down her chopsticks, Yu Yin also finished eating and put down her chopsticks.

"Eat slowly, you're wasting food by dropping rice all over the floor!" An'an's voice came from the children's table.

"No, I want to eat quickly, or the sweet and sour pork ribs will be gone." The voice sounded like the eldest son of Lu Shukang's family.

"You ate half a plate of sweet and sour pork ribs by yourself, while Zhuangzhuang and the others didn't eat any. You still haven't had enough."

"I'll eat it! If you won't let me, I'll tell Grandma! You're bullying me, ah..."

The boy burst into tears and jumped off the stool, rushing into his mother's arms. "Grandma, they're bullying me! They won't let me eat meat!"

Mother Lu tenderly comforted her grandson. Everyone else was startled by the sudden crying and stopped talking. The only sounds in the room were Mother Lu comforting the child and the crying.

"An'an, you're the older sister, why don't you give way to your younger brother? You're even bullying him!" Lu's mother suddenly shouted at An'an.

Yu Yin was taken aback by what Lu's mother would say.

“Why should I give in to him? My mother said that whoever does the right thing is right, and it’s not that the older one has to give in to the younger one. He was wasting food, and I reminded him. I was right to do that.” An’an’s rebuttal was clear and crisp.

"How dare you talk to me like that? Is this how your mother raised you? Talking back to your elders, no respect for elders." Mrs. Lu was already angry. Since she came in, no one had paid any attention to her or taken her seriously.

Yu Yin was unhappy and was about to speak when Lu Shurui spoke up, "Mom, An'an did the right thing. We can't waste food. Besides, everyone who knows An'an says she has a good personality and is polite. You're the only one who doesn't think so."

Lu Shurui's words seemed to trigger a switch, and Lu's mother shouted angrily, "Lu Shurui, are you still my son? I raised you with great difficulty, and now, what's wrong with me saying a few words to your daughter? You are a typical example of someone who forgets his mother after getting married."

"Second brother, how could you talk to Mom like that? It's so wrong of you! You weren't like this before!" Wang Mengyao's words made Lu's mother even angrier, and Yu Yin could hear her angry breathing.

"One who stays near vermilion gets stained red, and one who stays near ink gets stained black. He wasn't like this before." Lu's mother's sarcastic words made Yu Yin very unhappy.

Before Lu Shurui could speak, Yu Yin stood up. "What, don't you remember what I said before? Today, for the sake of Grandpa and Grandma, I was thinking of having a quiet meal. Why do you have to come out and make your presence known?" Yu Yin was facing Wang Mengyao, looking at her with a half-smile.

"Second sister-in-law, I'm telling the truth. Second brother never talked back to Mom before." Wang Mengyao had a sense of superiority that she knew something you didn't, and it was hard to tell where her confidence came from.

"Really? How long ago was it when you insisted on marrying down, or when you used underhanded methods to destroy other people's families? If you had just finished your meal and left quietly, I wouldn't have bothered with your uninvited and ill-mannered behavior. But what did you do? You had to come out and show off, spouting sycophantic nonsense. Was that really meaningful?" Yu Yin's words were packed with information, shocking everyone.

Yu Yin didn't give Wang Mengyao a chance to speak, and continued, "Before, we lived far apart and didn't have many opportunities to meet, so I didn't bother with you. This time, you came to dinner by yourself, and I figured we should keep to ourselves. After this meal, we won't have any further contact, so I didn't bother to say anything. But you're still being sarcastic and nitpicking. Do you think I'm easy to talk to?"

"Yu Yin, you..." Before Lu's mother could speak, Yu Yin interrupted, "Auntie, you pride yourself on being cultured and respectable, yet you're so unfair, your heart is completely biased. You keep saying you worked hard to raise Lu Shurui, but besides giving birth to him, how much have you actually raised him? Even if you did raise Lu Shurui, you didn't raise my An'an, so you have no right to criticize her or unconditionally give in to the ignorant little one." Yu Yin ripped off Lu's mother's fig leaf—respectable, indeed!

"You, you..."

"You don't need to think I'm being disrespectful. I have no intention of gaining your approval. Your son is yours, but we aren't. From now on, let's keep our distance and neither of us should cause trouble. My home really doesn't welcome you." Yu Yin made her point clear, so that no one would take it lightly.

"This is my son's home, my son's house. I can come and go as I please." Lu's mother lost her temper and started throwing a tantrum.

"Mom, you're really wrong. This is a house that Yu Yin bought, and the property certificate is in Yu Yin's name. It's really not my house!" Lu Shurui's timely intervention was the perfect finishing touch.

"You, you good-for-nothing!"

Lu's mother spoke recklessly, her eyes wide open.
