Grandpa and Grandma's house is only so big, and the layout is fixed, so it's quick to fix. Huang and his team finished the repairs in three to five days, and Grandpa and Grandma were very satisfied.
Yu Yin accompanied her grandmother to the department store to select some new bed sheets, curtains, tableware, and other household items.
Grandma and the others have no shortage of clothes; Yu Yin makes them new ones or buys them ready-made clothes every year.
The four children were the most reluctant to leave their grandparents, who were used to having their great-grandparents at home. They cried when they heard that their great-grandparents were going to move back to their own home.
"Can't we stay? It's so nice here, but what about Great-Grandma's flowers?"
"Let's draw together."
"We also need to dig up insects to feed the chickens and collect eggs."
Several children surrounded their great-grandparents, talking all at once, hoping to keep them here.
"We'll come back when it gets warmer, and we'll plant flowers together again." Grandma was also reluctant to leave the children, especially Manman.
I've gradually become less active and spend most of my time at home with my great-grandparents, learning quite a bit from them: paper cutting, calligraphy, and simple embroidery.
"Alright, kids, go visit your great-grandparents during your holiday. Now let's help them pack their things; they're all things they're used to using."
The children knew there was nothing they could do to change it, so they had to accept it. Fortunately, it wasn't too far, and they could go there on their own.
Through Liang Chao, Yu Yin obtained a TV ticket and bought a 14-inch black and white TV for her grandparents.
Grandma likes to watch some dramas, and Grandpa likes to watch the news broadcast, which helps the two old people pass the time.
On the day of the move, Lu's father, Lu Shukang, and his third uncle all came. His second brother-in-law drove a truck from his company to help transport all of his grandparents' belongings.
Over the course of two years, a considerable amount of things were acquired. Grandpa treasured his orchid the most, holding it carefully as he sat in the driver's seat.
Everyone else took the bus there; we're having a family gathering at Grandpa's house today, to make it lively.
After the house was renovated, it became much brighter. Many of the small partitions were removed, and it is now a spacious one-bedroom apartment.
"Yu Yin, this house is well-built. If my family needs to build a house in the future, please recommend this contractor to me."
"No problem, when does Auntie plan to fix it?"
"I should wait until after I graduate from the book and chess program, have a boyfriend, and plan to get married before I start studying for the exam."
This is a disguised way of pressuring someone to get married!
Lu Shuqi, standing to the side, was at a loss, scratching his head. He hadn't met a girl who appealed to him, and he didn't want to go on blind dates or get married; he wanted to find love freely.
The people around them who were watching the mother and son also laughed.
Lunch was prepared by my second sister, Yu Yin, and Aunt Lu. Shu Yun played with the children; there were about ten children of all ages, and it was good to have someone watching over them.
Just as the meal was almost ready, Lu's mother and Wang Mengyao arrived with their child.
"Second sister-in-law, is there anything else to do?"
Wang Mengyao's skin is so thick you couldn't pierce it with a needle, yet she still tries to get close to Yu Yin.
Yu Yin ignored her; strangers should act like strangers.
"Second sister-in-law, you have quite a temper. We're sisters-in-law, how can you still hold a grudge?"
"Are you out of your mind or mentally unstable? Stop doing shameless things. Not everything can be forgiven with a laugh. I'm just naturally vengeful."
I really don't want to talk to her; it's a waste of breath.
"Mom, can you get that for me?"
An'an called Yu Yin over, probably having overheard her mother's words and knowing that she was annoyed by her aunt, so she quickly called for her.
Yu Yin walked away without giving Wang Mengyao or Lu's mother, who seemed hesitant to speak, a single glance.
"What's with the attitude? She just opened a shop and made a little money, so what? She thinks she's so great. She bought a TV for her grandparents, but why didn't she buy one for her parents?"
Lu's mother didn't respond. Over the past two years, she had come to realize that Lu Shukang and Wang Mengyao weren't the type to care about others. She had taken care of their children, cooked for them, and done their laundry, exhausting herself, yet they showed no gratitude or concern for her.
Yu Yin didn't know what Lu's mother was thinking, otherwise she would have said, "Serves her right!"
We didn't inform Uncle Lu's family about today's meal, as they haven't visited Grandpa and Grandma for the past two years.
The meal went fairly smoothly. After cleaning up, Yu Yin and the others took the children home.
Grandpa and Grandma moved away, and Yu Yin's family wasn't used to it. The first thing they did when they got home was to call out to Grandpa and Grandma, Great-Grandpa and Great-Grandma. Only after calling out did they realize that they no longer lived there.
Aunt Lu and her family arrived three days after Grandpa and Grandma moved out. By the time Yu Yin and the others found out, several days had already passed, and they had already tidied up the house.
On another day off, Yu Yin and her friends went to visit their grandmother and also met their aunt whom they had never met before.
"Great-Grandma, we're here."
He ran into the house faster than An'an; his name wasn't given lightly.
"Come in quickly, aren't you cold?"
"It's not cold, Great-Grandma, we're dressed warmly."
An'an took off her hat and gloves and put them aside. Kuai Kuai followed suit and put her own knitted hat and gloves next to her sister.
"This is Shu Rui's child. They've grown so much already?"
"Quickly, An'an, call her Grandma."
"Hello, Grandma."
The two were taught some terms of address among relatives at home, and learned that this was their father's aunt.
Aunt Lu took out two red envelopes and handed them to the two children.
"Take them all, they're from your great-aunt."
Only after Great-Grandma spoke did An'an and Kuaile accept the red envelopes, saying, "Thank you, Great-Grandma!"
"The child is so polite, and has been taught so well!"
Aunt Lu's slightly aged face showed an expression of envy.
Grandma Lu knew what was on her daughter's mind, but there was nothing she could do; it was all fate.
