Yu Yin and her group were unaware of what had happened to the Lu family. As they boarded the train, they attracted a lot of attention.
Five adults and six children bought eight sleeper tickets, and luckily they were all next to each other.
Zhuangzhuang is the oldest, already thirteen years old, and 1.6 meters tall, about the same height as Lu Shuyun.
He slept in a middle bunk by himself, Yu Kang slept in an upper bunk, and Pingping slept in an upper bunk by himself, facing his uncle. Duoduo was eight years old and didn't dare to sleep alone, so she slept in a lower bunk with Shuyun, while Shuqi slept opposite them so they could look after each other. An'an slept in a middle bunk by herself, facing Zhuangzhuang. Yu Yin and Lu Shurui each had a child with them, and they slept in the lower bunks below An'an and Zhuangzhuang.
These eleven people make up a fairly large team.
Before the train departed, the berths were assigned. The children weren't sleepy, so they all sat on the lower berths, and they were all quite excited.
Zhuangzhuang and Duoduo's first long-distance train ride from Yunnan Province to Shanghai was a memorable one, as they traveled safely. I also vaguely remember Kuaikuai and Manman, but not many details.
Zhuangzhuang brought playing cards, while Pingping and Manman didn't play; they brought books instead. The remaining four children made up a deck of cards. Lu Shurui and Lu Shuqi took a nap on the lower bunk next door; they needed to be alert at night, as they couldn't be careless with so many children around.
Before leaving, Yu Yin explained to the six of them, as well as Shu Yun and Yu Kang, some common methods used in child abduction. She emphasized that they must never act alone and must always be accompanied by an adult. Although Zhuangzhuang looked tall and strong, he was also not allowed to act on his own.
If you get separated from your family, be sure to find the nearest police station and ask the police officers or other uniformed staff for help. If there are no such officers, stay where you are and do not go with strangers. Also, do not attempt to be a hero; you are still children, and if they truly need help, they will find an adult.
Countless children and adults in later generations have met with misfortune because of good intentions, ultimately being abducted or harmed.
Manman and Pingping sat down in the middle bunk, while Yu Kang sat next to them watching a few children play cards. He was the leader of the group and had also been disciplined by Yu Yin. Shuyun was also traveling far from home for the first time and was quite excited. She stood by the window looking out, but the train hadn't started moving yet, and she didn't know what to look at.
The train chugged along, and the objects outside the window rushed past; they were about to leave.
There were quite a few people in the sleeper berths, mostly middle-aged people, since sleeper tickets are not easy to buy these days.
The train had just departed, and some people were still looking for berths. Yu Yin lay on the bed with her eyes closed, resting. All the children had been settled in.
"Wake up, comrade, can I switch bunks with you?"
Lu Shurui opened his eyes and saw a rather young woman standing between the two bunks, looking at him.
"What?"
"My friend and I don't share a bunk. Can we switch bunks? Mine is also a lower bunk."
Lu Shurui glanced at the middle bunk opposite him; a woman on the bunk was also staring at him.
"I'm sorry, I can't exchange it, I..."
"Look, mine is a lower bunk too. You're a grown man, can't you be a little considerate of the women when you're out?"
Before Lu Shurui could finish speaking, the woman became unhappy upon hearing that he wouldn't change his mind.
"Yeah, they're also on the lower bunk, so let's switch."
Lu Shurui's older brother, always eager for drama, chimed in.
"Who do you think you are? You start moral blackmailing people without even listening to them finish speaking. You think you can represent all women if we don't put ourselves in their shoes?"
When An'an heard the sound, she put down her cards and came over, standing there watching for a long time.
"Whose child is this? Why are you interrupting adults? Don't you have any manners?"
"Who are you calling ill-mannered? You are well-mannered."
Before An'an could even speak, Kuai Kuai retorted, showing how fast he could be.
The women standing on the ground were all dumbfounded; how did another child appear?
Lu Shurui raised her hand to signal An'an and the other girl to be quiet, "I hadn't even finished speaking when you two started talking non-stop. We're out with the kids and we have to look after them, we can't switch places with you. Why can't you let people talk?"
"Because you won't change it, she doesn't want to hear that."
An'an added insult to injury, ignoring the woman's unpleasant expression.
"Auntie, why don't you switch with this uncle? He's so righteous, he'll definitely be willing to switch."
"No, my wife is on the top bunk."
"Hmph..."
An'an's voice made the man in the middle bunk blush. Do not do to others what you would not have them do to you. He lay back down on his own bed and remained silent.
"Hey, young lady, I'll switch with you."
The older woman in the upper bunk couldn't bear to see a young woman having such a hard time, so she thought she could lend a hand.
"Big sister, I'm afraid of heights, so I can't sleep on the top bunk."
Well, they didn't appreciate it.
"Don't look at that. That's my uncle. I can't trade places with you."
An'an noticed the woman's gaze falling on Shuqi's uncle and quickly cut off her escape route.
"You...you child, hmph..."
The woman walked away with a swaying gait, her high heels clicking loudly, seemingly unconcerned about twisting her ankle.
An'an and Kuai Kuai smiled at each other, and Lu Shurui tapped their foreheads.
Before An'an could even sit down properly, another woman's voice rang out.
"This is my bunk. Why are you sitting here? Isn't it dirty?"
“Where am I dirty? These clothes are clean. You weren’t here, so what’s wrong with me sitting for a while? If you think they’re dirty, you can sit in my bunk, and we can switch.”
Judging from the voice, it should be a middle-aged woman.
A few seconds later, the woman's shout came again.
"You have the top bunk, you're quite the planner. I'm not switching."
"Fine, don't change it then. What are you doing? In a public place, where's your upbringing?"
