I climbed the Great Wall, ascended Fragrant Hills, rowed a boat in Beihai Park, visited Weiming Lake, and read the school motto: "Strive for self-improvement and cultivate virtue."
We ate roast duck, hot pot lamb slices, sampled fragrant rice cakes, and also had fried dough rings...
This trip to Beijing was totally worth it!
The platform for farewells was bustling with people seeing each other off.
Yu Yin looked at the younger brother's family, Sister Yi Xian and her child, the groom Wang Wenye, and Qian Weiguo playing around with Shuqi...
"Alright, we must part ways eventually. If you have time to visit Shanghai, I will definitely be a good host."
"Okay, I'll go if I have the chance."
Sister Yixian's eyes were filled with tears, and her reluctance to part was evident.
"Yinyin, take good care of yourself. I'll come see you when I have another vacation."
The young man looked like an old father seeing his daughter off on a long journey, his worry written all over his face.
"Sister Yu Yin, I'd like to visit you sometime and learn from your experience."
Qian Weiguo was very interested in Yin's little shop and said he really wanted to go and see it sometime, to see a different kind of scenery.
"You're welcome anytime!"
The younger sister-in-law was also very reluctant to leave. When she visited Yu Jun's hometown before, she got along well with Yu's older sister-in-law and they interacted normally. However, she couldn't get along with Yu Qing at all, and her mother-in-law was always finding fault with her. Fortunately, Yu Jun was reliable, so she wasn't bullied.
She was worried when she heard that Yu Yin was coming. Although they always sent each other things, they had never met, so she was still a little worried.
Unexpectedly, after meeting them, I found that they got along very well. I genuinely like my sister-in-law's family, and their children are also very well-behaved.
The train whistle blew, signaling an impending farewell. Children called out to each other that they wanted to write letters, adults waved their arms, and the figures grew smaller and smaller until they disappeared from sight!
"Mom, when can we see Chu Chen and the others again?"
An'an has been having a blast playing in the compound with Chu Yang and Chu Chen these past few days. They're all descendants of soldiers, and they all know a thing or two about martial arts. An'an has been sparring with them and has learned a lot, becoming much stronger than her friends in Shanghai.
"An'an, Mom doesn't know when we'll see them again, but Mom promises that if there's a chance, I'll definitely take you to see them again."
"Okay, Mom."
Yu Yin didn't lie to the child, saying they would meet soon. The distance was too far, and with the current conditions, going out was difficult.
An'an knew this, so she didn't dwell on it too much. She thought she would write more letters in the future and have Chu Chen and the others tell her about the training methods in their letters.
Kuai Kuai and Man Man weren't too reluctant to leave. Although they thought Beijing was great, they still preferred their own home. After being away for so long, they were a little homesick, especially Man Man. She missed Professor An and her art classes.
The other children had a great time, seeing and experiencing everything they knew and didn't know, and were completely satisfied.
On this trip, Yu Yin and her friends used film the most; they couldn't even remember how many rolls they used. They'll be able to develop a lot of photos when they get back.
The return trip was also by sleeper berth, and I didn't encounter anything strange. I arrived at Shanghai Railway Station smoothly.
"Dad, Mom, we're here."
As soon as Zhuangzhuang stepped off the platform, he saw his parents waiting outside and excitedly called out to them.
"Second sister, second brother-in-law, what brings you here?"
When Yu Yin and the others went there, they didn't have much stuff. But when they came back, Xiao Ge, Yi Xian, and Wang Wenye had all bought things, and their hands were almost too full to carry them all.
"I was worried that there were too many of you and too much stuff, so I came to pick you up. It's also because it's my day off today."
"Are they all going crazy with this?"
The second sister stroked her daughter's head; it was the first time the child had been away from her side, and she still missed her.
"Thank you for your hard work, Yinyin."
"It's alright, the child can take care of himself and follows instructions well, he's doing a good job."
Yu Yin thought the children did a really good job; apart from being a little troublesome in the car, they didn't cause much worry at other times.
"Okay, get in the car first. There are too many people. Let's go home first."
The second brother-in-law took the things from Yu Yin's hands and led the children to the parking area.
It was my second brother-in-law's company's small truck. People and things were loaded onto the truck. My second brother-in-law started the truck and went to Yu Yin's house first, where her family was the largest.
"Everyone, come inside first. Shuqi, Shuyun, come inside first, divide the things up, and take them back for your third uncle and the others to try."
"Sister-in-law, no need, leave it for the children. We bought some too."
Lu Shuqi also bought some, but most of the rest were gifts for his sister-in-law; they felt too embarrassed to take any more. This trip was all thanks to his sister-in-law. She paid for most of the food and lodging, and even bought things for Shuyun.
"Oh, don't be so polite. They bought so much. It's so hot outside, let's share it and eat it quickly, or it will go to waste."
Yu Yin opened the door, and a group of people entered the courtyard.
It was cooler outside, so we didn't go inside. The children divided their things among themselves; Yu Yin didn't interfere.
She shared some of the food and drinks that everyone had bought with each family, so they could try something new. She also planned to share some of the remaining food with the shop staff and send some to her grandparents.
"Shurui, when you went to Beijing, Mom fainted and was hospitalized."
Is it serious?
Lu Shurui was startled; this was too sudden.
"It's alright, just tired, malnourished, and my heart isn't very good. Now, Mom and Dad are living separately, and the family has been completely separated. Shukang got a small room, and Mom and Dad live in the two big rooms by themselves. In the future, you and your older brother will each have a room."
Second Sister Lu briefly explained the family division arrangements to prepare Shu Rui mentally. She also told him that when he returned, he should visit her, because no matter what, she was still his mother.
