Yu Yin's internship has begun, but in reality, there isn't much backstabbing or intrigue.
Yu Yin had previously watched TV dramas, and the workplace plots were so melodramatic that they made her very worried. Yu Yin never intended to stand out or create anything amazing that didn't fit the era's context; she just went with the flow, following the crowd step by step.
After a while, the finance and accounting staff noticed that the new intern neither acted arrogantly or disrespectfully because of her high academic achievements, nor did she compromise or allow herself to be bullied simply because she was new.
Last year, a worker-peasant-soldier college student was assigned to their accounting department, which caused quite a stir at the time.
During those ten years, universities were closed, and highly educated individuals became rare.
Later, they were recommended to go to university, which led to the emergence of worker-peasant-soldier students. However, their academic levels varied greatly, and opinions on these students were diverse after graduation.
After the resumption of the college entrance examination, worker-peasant-soldier college students faced an awkward situation and some conflicts occurred.
When Yu Yin came to intern, Wei Lan, who graduated from a worker-peasant-soldier university, felt a little uncomfortable. She used to be the most highly educated person in their department, and although being a worker-peasant-soldier university graduate didn't sound very prestigious, she still had a legitimate university degree.
Yu Yin, who had just arrived, was inexplicably being watched several times. After inquiring around and learning the details, she didn't make a fuss until that one time.
"Xiaoyu, your report is wrong. This is terrible. And you call yourself a college student? Your level is just average."
"Sister Wei Lan, let's talk about work directly. I'll correct any mistakes I made. What does 'proper college student' even mean? Are there any improper college students out there?"
Wei Lan was surprised that Yu Yin, a new intern, dared to challenge her, and was speechless after being rebuked.
"How dare you speak like that? How can you not respect your elders? Don't be so disrespectful. Don't think you can be so arrogant just because you're a college student."
"Sister Wei Lan, when did I ever disrespect my seniors? How is that being arrogant? So what if I'm a college student? Did I break the law? Am I somehow inferior to you? If you want respect, shouldn't you respect others first? You're being hypocritical; you're judging others, not yourself!"
Yu Yin doesn't cause trouble, but she's not afraid of trouble either. If you want to establish your authority or are feeling uncomfortable, you can't use me as a scapegoat!
"Hmph, this isn't over yet. We'll let the director judge this matter later."
Wei Lan, having failed to gain any advantage, was a little embarrassed and started yelling that she would complain to the director. Yu Yin ignored her; the more you pay attention to someone like that, the more energetic she becomes.
Through this argument, the people in the office gained a better understanding of Yu Yin's personality and generally wouldn't try to force a newcomer to do their work. After all, Yu Yin had relevant work experience and picked things up quickly.
After that, things were peaceful. I did my job well, didn't get involved in their struggles, and lived a pretty good and easy life.
Lu Shurui comes back once a week, and Yu Yin and the children have gradually gotten used to this kind of life.
December has arrived in the blink of an eye, and another year is coming to an end.
In her spare time, Yu Yin devoted more of her energy to the Green Sprouts dried goods store. Liang Chao was too busy to handle the year-end gift boxes, the required quantity of goods, and the allocation of personnel.
Brother Yu arrived during this chaotic time, accompanied by Yu Kang.
"Second sister, eldest brother is here."
Just after finishing dinner, Yu Yin was calculating the shop's revenue when Yu Kang's loud voice rang out.
Who's here?
Yu Yin came out of the study, but she didn't hear clearly.
"Big brother is here, I came to see you."
Yu Kang pointed to his eldest brother beside him, gesturing for his second sister to look over.
"Big brother?"
Yu Yin looked over and it really was her older brother. Although she hadn't seen him for several years, she could still recognize him.
"Brother, what brings you here? Is something wrong at home?"
"Everything is fine at home. I came here early to visit you all because I'm here to attend an academic conference."
"Ah, I heard Lu Shurui mention you once, I didn't expect you to come too. Brother, please have a seat. Yu Kang, go make some tea."
After dinner, Aunt Hu and the others usually go to the backyard.
"Big brother, have you eaten?"
"I've already eaten. I ate at Yu Kang's school. I don't know your address. Your sister-in-law said you moved again, so I went to find Yu Kang first."
Brother Yu is thirty-five years old. Fortunately, he hasn't gained weight or gone bald in middle age, and he still looks quite energetic.
"Is Dad alright? How are your sister-in-law and the children?"
“Everything is fine. Dad will retire next year and he’s in good health. Your sister-in-law and the kids are doing well too. Anze was thinking of coming to visit An'an and Pingping, but we didn’t have time off, so we didn’t bring him.”
Brother Yu was quite emotional, realizing that his quiet younger sister had grown up, started her own family and career, and even started a side business with her wife.
That year, his wife earned a lot of money and, following Yu Yin's example, bought a fairly large courtyard house, spending a considerable amount of money. Now, the house price has increased.
Second sister, where are the children?
Yu Kang came in carrying a tea tray, but didn't see many children.
"They're on the third floor. Go and tell them to come down."
"Well, I haven't even caught my breath since I walked in the door, and you've been running around like crazy." Yu Kang muttered as he went upstairs.
"Yu Kang doesn't plan to go back after graduation, does he? I think he really likes it here."
Watching the two of them interact naturally, Brother Yu was reminded of how Yu Yin and Yu Jun got along, and he felt very comfortable.
"He said he doesn't plan to go back. There are still two years left, we'll see how things go then."
Before Brother Yu arrived, Sister-in-law Yu repeatedly instructed him not to mention Mother Yu and Yu Qing when he met Yu Yin, as it was unnecessary.
"I heard from Yu Jun that you went to Beijing during the summer vacation?"
"Yeah, a friend is getting married, so I'll go visit my brother and his family, and also take the kids out for a stroll."
