Chapter 291 Yu Yin Doesn't Take the Challenge

"Lu Shukang, you are a college graduate and a teacher. What, you're trying to scheme against me? Nobody's stopping you from getting married, but raising someone else's child is your own business. Don't try to take it out on me."

My money is mine, and it has nothing to do with you. If you want a good life, earn it yourself. Expecting an old person to fight for you won't work with me. I can use my spare money to help orphans; that would have some purpose.

After Yu Yin finished speaking, there was no need for her to stay any longer, so she got up to leave.

"What are you so arrogant about? So what if you have a little money? How can you talk like that? Don't you think you're so capable? Aren't you afraid of being laughed at?" Lu's mother didn't expect Yu Yin to be so disrespectful and say such harsh words. She had completely forgotten what Lu Shukang had told her.

"What does that have to do with you?" Yu Yin ignored Lu's mother's words and pushed the door open to leave.

"Second brother, I didn't, I..."

Lu Shukang never expected things to escalate to this point. It seems there's no hope for a house; he has no money to buy one!

"Shukang, a child is still your own. Can you really raise someone else's child properly? Think about it carefully." Sister Lu didn't want to say this, but thinking of her two nephews, who were quite pitiful, she couldn't help but say a few words.

Brother Lu and his wife didn't want to say anything more. They were a large family too, and they couldn't sacrifice their own lives for the sake of their adult brothers.

The group got up and went downstairs.

"Dad, you can't let Mom and Shukang go through all this trouble. What will they gain after all this?" Brother Lu saw his father downstairs with his child and didn't know how to express his dissatisfaction.

"How can I be satisfied if I don't let them make a mess of things? Don't worry about them, you all go about your business. I'll be moving back in a few days." Mr. Lu glanced at the group and silently walked upstairs. He was exhausted.

"Alright, everyone go back now. You've been making trouble all day." Brother Lu is in his forties, and he's exhausted after a long day at work.

"Big brother, second sister, how did you get here?" Lu Shurui asked. It was getting late, so he decided to take them back.

"Your sister-in-law and I came by bicycle. What about you?" Brother Lu and his wife came over right after get off work and hadn't eaten yet.

"I drove here, and I was thinking of giving you a ride home."

"You bought a car?" My brother-in-law perked up as soon as he heard that; he had been relegated to the background all night.

"Yinyin bought it from the factory. It's inconvenient for her to commute to and from work without a car, and it's not safe at night," Lu Shurui said, leading them to the parking area.

"Yinyin?"

Lu Shurui called out, and Yu Yin got out of the car.

"Are you done talking?" Yu Yin didn't expect them to come out so quickly.

"Is this a Jeep, a used one?" My brother-in-law opened the car door. The car was in good condition.

"Yes, it's a car retired from the military," Yu Yin explained, knowing that her second brother-in-law also liked cars.

Brother Lu also came closer to take a look, and it really was quite good; Shu Rui was living a good life.

"Alright, let's hurry home. It's so late, and we haven't eaten yet." Sister-in-law Lu was tired and hungry, so she quickly urged Brother Lu to go home.

"Yu Yin, let's get together another day when you have a break. I'm really exhausted today. I was in surgery all day, and I never thought it would all be for this trivial matter. I really don't know what everyone was thinking." Sister-in-law Lu complained for a while, but she was too tired to continue.

"Okay, let's get together again sometime. Oh, by the way, sister-in-law, here's some chocolate, have some." Yu Yin took out a handful of chocolates from her bag, which she had bought after leaving the Western restaurant.

"Then I won't stand on ceremony, I really have no strength left." Sister-in-law Lu took it, quickly tore it open and put a piece in her mouth, and then stuffed another piece into Brother Lu's mouth.

"Alright, we're off now." Brother Lu drove off with Sister-in-law Lu.

"Second brother-in-law, how did you get here? Shall we take you home?"

Seeing that her second brother-in-law still seemed to like her, Yu Yin quickly asked him a question.

"That's great. We came by bus, and since it wasn't far, we just walked back that night."

“Okay, you drive then, my second sister and I will sit in the back.” Yu Yin opened the car door and sat in the back seat with her second sister.

Lu Shurui got into the passenger seat, his brother-in-law drove, and the four of them left Lu Shukang's house.

Mr. Lu led the children into the house and told them to go back to their room to sleep, as they had to go to school the next day.

"After all this trouble, what have you gained? The already fragile family bond has been almost completely destroyed. Shukang, since you've decided to get married, and you're both divorced with children, don't overthink it. Just live together as a couple and don't expect things that aren't yours."

I'm too old to help you take care of the kids anymore. Xiang Qiang and Xiang Wei are also getting on in years. You decide what to do. I'm moving back tomorrow. As for your mother, you two can decide for yourselves.”

After finishing speaking, Mr. Lu went straight into the house without listening to what they were saying.

"Grandpa, are you leaving us?" Lu Xiangqiang has been raised by his father for some time now, and his temperament has improved a lot. He is already twelve years old and understands many things.

"Yes, you and Xiangwei are all grown up now and can take care of yourselves. Grandpa is relieved. You are the older brother, so take good care of your younger brother. Even though your father is married, he is still your father and has the responsibility to raise you." Father Lu patted Xiang Qiang's head. Since his parents' divorce, this child has grown up and become much more sensible.

"I understand, Grandpa. Don't worry, I'll take good care of my brother. I'll come to see you and Grandma when I have my vacation." Lu Xiangqiang held back his tears. He had grown up and could take care of himself and his brother.

Inside the house, the grandfather and grandson gave each other instructions, while outside, Lu Shukang and his mother sat facing each other, unsure of what to say.

"You know better than Xiao Hui. You should be careful. A child should be your own. You both have children, and you're colleagues. You're just living together, so be careful." No matter how much Lu's mother thought Xiao Hui was good, she knew in her heart that a stepmother is a stepmother. How could she treat her stepson better than her own child?

"Mom, I know. It's all because I'm incompetent. I don't have the money to buy you a house, and you have to go back to your old house." Lu Shukang knew what his mother liked to hear, and he spoke with deep affection.

"Mom knows, but I'm worried about you and the two children." Lu's mother knew that Yu Yin wouldn't do as she wished, and Shu Rui was also finished, unable to make any decisions about the family. They lived a life of luxury but neglected their parents, and their unfilial children were either raised by her or were distant relatives. They were filial to their grandparents back then.

Lu's mother grumbled as she went back to her room; they had to move tomorrow.

Lu Shukang sat in the living room, feeling a little disappointed. He knew how successful his second sister-in-law's sausage factory was; with sausages selling for such a high price, how could she not make money? It was a pity that his plan hadn't come to fruition. Otherwise, the two buildings could have been combined, making it so comfortable to live in.

Regardless of what others thought, Yu Yin didn't care. After seeing Lu Erjie and her husband off, they went home.

It's all a hassle, nothing worth it. All that scheming and plotting, what can they do if I just don't engage?
