The newly arrived educated youth have a day off to prepare their daily necessities before starting work.
Lu Shuqi bought everything he needed yesterday afternoon, all with the help of his cousin.
"Aren't you going to eat breakfast? The cafeteria will close soon?"
"I won't eat it. I'll feel nauseous if I do, so it's better not to eat it at all. I still have some peach shortbread, I'll have that to tide me over."

"I'm going to visit my cousin. My mom brought some things for my cousin's wife and child, and I'll deliver them over."
“Let’s go together then, I also want to see the children.”
Confused, Lu Shuqi and her cousin walked towards her cousin's house. It was easy to find; the house was very conspicuous.
"Hello, sister-in-law. These are things my mother brought for the children."
Lu Shuqi handed over the things he had brought, and Yu Yin took them.
"Third Aunt, you're so thoughtful to have brought things from so far away, thank you!"

Lu Shuqi was very surprised. The two children were so good-looking. They had big, bright, round eyes, chubby little faces, and fair skin. They were very endearing.
"I'm your uncle, call me uncle."
"Ah, ah..."
The two little ones were very interested in the strangers. They stopped sucking their fingers and stared intently, occasionally making "ah" sounds. Then, with a roll, they rolled over, trying to sit up, but after a few attempts, they couldn't manage it. So, they rolled back over and lay there sucking their fingers.
"Brother, they're so cute! Grandpa and Grandma would be overjoyed if they saw them."
"Well, they're too young now. We'll take them back to their grandparents when they're older."
"Cousin, I'm planning to go back home to visit relatives this Chinese New Year. Are you coming?"
Lu Shuxin, who had been ignored since entering the house, finally found a chance to speak. She quickly asked if she could get a train ticket if her cousin went back with her.
"We won't go back. The child is too young, and the journey will be too much for us."
"Then go back by yourself. Your aunt and uncle must miss you."
"I'll go back by myself, leaving those three women at home. How could I possibly have the heart to do that!"
It seemed there was no chance, and Lu Shuxin didn't bring up the topic again.
"Dinner is ready. Wash your hands and eat."
Yu Yin called from the kitchen that dinner was ready, and Lu Shurui led the two of them to wash their hands and go to the kitchen to eat.
"Come, sit down, don't be shy. It's just a simple home-cooked meal, see if it suits your taste."
Yu Yin made stir-fried mushrooms, stir-fried bamboo shoots with sausage, stir-fried eggs with persimmons, cold black fungus salad, and also made a mixed mushroom soup.
"Sister-in-law, this is so delicious! It looks so appetizing."
"It's all a gift from the mountains!"
Everyone enjoyed the meal, especially Lu Shuxin, who hadn't had a decent meal in a long time.
Lu Shuqi helped her cousin clean up the kitchen, and asked incredulously, "Brother, how did you train? You never did these things before!"
“You can learn it slowly. We can’t let your sister-in-law do all the work. There are two children to take care of.”
"Amazing, even my family wouldn't believe it if I told them this."
Yu Yin came downstairs to put the child to sleep.
"Are the children all asleep?"
"Yes, they're all asleep."
Lu Shuxin had already left after finishing her meal. Her purpose in coming here was to take advantage of the situation and get a free meal.
Yu Yin has no liking for Lu Shuxin. She won't stop her from entering, but she won't pay any attention to her either.
"Shuqi, take these back with you. They're not bad to eat with your meals."
He was asking his cousin about working on the farm when he heard his cousin's wife's words. He was surprised that she had prepared food for him.
"Thank you, sister-in-law, for both the food and the gift."
"It's okay, these are all pickled vegetables I made myself. The food at the farm is just so-so, I've eaten there before."
Having said everything he needed to say, Lu Shuqi took the things his sister-in-law had prepared and returned to the farm. He would start work tomorrow and needed to get some rest.
"Your cousin is not bad."
"He's the eldest son in his family, and my third uncle and aunt are quite strict with him. Don't let his seemingly well-behaved appearance fool you; he's actually quite mischievous and a bit impulsive."
