"You've arrived, come in."
Hearing the commotion outside, Yu Yin opened the door and invited them in.
"Shu Rui, this is with Shu Qi. They've come to visit today."
"Hello, Brother Shurui."
"Hello, feel free to have some fun."
"Sister-in-law, Wenye and the others bought meat and ribs and would like you to help them cook. We're here to freeload today."
"Sister-in-law, we've been counting stars and watching the moon for so long, and we've finally waited for this day. It's been such a long time."
"Alright, give me the meat. Feel free to look around. There are cucumbers and tomatoes in the garden, go pick them yourselves."
Yu Yin's vegetables have been harvested in large quantities. Occasionally, some are smuggled out from the space, but there isn't much left to eat in the garden.
"Then we won't stand on ceremony, Brother Ye. Let's go take a look around. Your wife's yard is nicely decorated."
Lu Shuqi hadn't looked around closely last time he visited, so the group toured the courtyard together.
"Ah, these tomatoes taste so good, much better than the ones we eat at home. They're sweet and sour, and even have a sandy texture!"
"There are quite a few fruit trees, but what varieties are they? I don't recognize any of them. Don't tell me that Yunnan Province is full of fruit? We've been here for so long, how come we haven't seen a single one?"
"Those are all deep in the mountains and forests, do you dare to go?"
...
"You seem to like these kids quite a bit?"
“Looking at them reminds me of my older brother. Back then, he had many friends and was always out with them, but he often stayed home because of me. The reason I went to vocational school was so that my brother could live his own life, freely interact with his friends, and not have to worry about me.”
Lu Shurui knew that in Yu Yin's heart, his younger brother was special, not only as an older brother, but also as a father figure.
“Look at them, they are thousands of miles away from home, doing heavy work every day, and they don’t know where their future lies, but that doesn’t stop them from having fun.”
Lunch was very plentiful, including braised pork, pork ribs stewed with green beans, stir-fried mushrooms, stir-fried bamboo shoots... Yu Yin made a total of ten dishes, as well as several Dai ethnic specialties, and steamed a large pot of white rice.
The meal was a real treat for the young men. Since leaving home, they had finally had a decent meal. It was so rare and delicious.
The result was a complete scorched-earth policy; nothing was left. Finally, Lu Shurui led them to clean up the kitchen, and only then did they feel the food was no longer choking them.
