"Brother and sister-in-law, you must be tired from your journey."
"It's alright. I bought a sleeper berth, so I wasn't too tired."
The group spoke politely yet distantly about trivial matters, creating an awkward atmosphere.
“I’ve picked some fruit for the children to try.”
There was really nothing to say, so Yu Yin changed the subject.
"Anze, Anna, your second aunt and the others are here, come out quickly."
Sister-in-law Yu didn't look well; it was unclear whether she was tired or if something was wrong.
"They're here."
Six-year-old Anze is like a little adult, much like his older brother Yu, very serious and methodical.
"Second Aunt, Second Aunt's husband is well."
Anze is very polite, like a little prince, no wonder his mother keeps talking about her eldest grandson.
Anna is two years younger than her brother and is a bit spoiled. She walked out slowly, hiding behind her mother, peeking at Yu Yin's family of four from time to time, but she didn't say a word.
"Brother is handsome, have some fruit."
An An is a sucker for good looks and is also very outgoing.
She picked up the mangoes from the basket and put them into Anze's arms, chattering away.
"Eat, it's sweet, brother, eat it."
Anze held the mango helplessly, unsure of what to do next. He was taken aback by An'an's enthusiasm.
“Lu Xiangwan, calm down for a moment, you’re scaring your brother.”
"Hmph, Mom is stingy."
An'an was unhappy. What was wrong with her giving the little brother fruit?
"An'an, do you have a little uncle?"
Yu Kang rushed in and went straight to An An. Although they were several years apart in age, they got along very well and were like best friends.
"Uncle, I picked some jujubes for you. They're newly planted by Mom, and they're delicious."
With her new uncle by her side, An'an abandoned her older brother and, holding a purple jujube she had secretly picked, went off to plot with her new uncle.
"Shurui is here, come in quickly."
After ending their awkward conversation, the group quickly went inside.
Yu's mother was showing off her culinary skills in the kitchen, preparing to cook something delicious for her eldest son, but she didn't know how it would taste.
"Yu Yin, can you help me? I don't know what to do."
This is her own mother, she only remembers her when she's doing chores. Yu Yin thought to herself as she slowly walked to the kitchen.
